The album artwork and final tracklisting will be announced shortly.

The festival billing is shaping up as follows: More...
The New England Metal and Hardcore Festival will introduce an additional stage this year dedicated to up and coming bands.
The third stage, sponsored by Deathcote Records, will be located at Chasers Nightclub, located behind the Palladium on the corner of Martin Luther King and Commercial streets. The main festival will be taking place at the Palladium.
“There are so many great bands and not enough time to get all of them on during the course of two days,” said festival co-organizer Sott Lee. “Adding a third stage is a great way for us to showcase some of the developing bands and it’s a terrific opportunity for these bands to play alongside some of today’s top metal and hardcore bands.”
The New England Metal and Hardcore Festival will take place on Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18, with the Atticus pre-party on Thursday, April 16. This year’s event is presented by Randall Amplifiers, Washburn Guitars and Eden Electronics. Metal Blade Records will present the main stage. Prosthetic Records will present the second stage.
The Atticus-sponsored pre-party will be a unique event that will be combining film and music, kicking off with a screening of official film sponsor Anchor Bay's film "Crowley," co-written by none other than Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson. The provocative supernatural thriller is the tale of a virtual reality experiment gone wrong, sending the soul of the British occultist Aleister Crowley into the body of a shy university professor. But even as Crowley creates all-new orgies of depraved pleasures and black magic, he is now preparing to unleash the ultimate occult event upon the world. Also showing is "Anvil! The Story of Anvil," a sometimes revealing, sometimes hilarious documentary about the legendary Canadian metal band. The movie follows best friends Robb Reiner and Lips as they make a pact to rock together forever. Their band, Anvil, hailed as the "demi-gods of Canadian metal, " influenced a musical generation that includes Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax, despite never hitting the big time. Following a calamitous European tour, Lips and Robb, now in their fifties, set off to record their 13th album in one last attempt to fulfill their boyhood dreams. The film will be followed by a performance by the band itself. The pre-party will also be held at the Palladium. Admission is free with a weekend pass or $15 for non-ticket holders.
Prices this year are $40 for Friday, $45 for Saturday or $79 for a 2-day ticket that also includes free admission to the kick off party on Thursday. Tickets are available at all Strawberries, FYE Stores, online at tickets.com or by calling (800) 477-6849. Tickets are available now.
Bands scheduled to perform this year include: More...
LAETHORA, the Swedish death/grind band featuring DARK TRANQUILLITY guitarist Niklas Sundin, has finished recording its second album, "The Light In Which We All Burn." The album will be ready for a late spring/early summer release.
LAETHORA comments , "Some previous statements have included information about Roberto Laghi, whom we've previously worked with, and that he would be doing the mixing of the album. This will not be the case. Due to illness and other unfortunate events delaying the recording process, we made the decision to do the mixing ourselves. Both Roberto and we were a bit sad that we couldn't work together again, but sometimes one cannot foresee life's odd interventions. To say the least, this recording process has been more than strenuous, but as they say; when the going gets tough, the tough get going..." More...
Metallica has posted the video for their next single, "Broken, Beated, and Scarred," online on their official website along with the following message:
"We're having so much fun out on the road that we thought, hey, why not film it for the video of our next single? So we invited our good friend Wayne Isham and his crew to join us for a few shows in California in December of 2008 . . . Ontario and Fresno to be exact. We go way back with Wayne (several vids from the "Black" album up through "Frantic" and the "Cunning Stunts" DVD) and as always, Wayne rocked it!
"So enjoy . . . and just in case you're interested, more info about the single release of this song here."

Melbourne’s Decrepit Sun has updated their myspace page with an update on the recording of their debut album, "Violent.Aggressive."
"Just an update for our good mates that have supported us over the last couple of years and for any newcomers jumping on the wagon. We are currently in the process of recording our new album - originaly planned to be finished by about this time! Rather than rush the album, weve decided to take this year and focus our efforts on creating a debut that exceeds our current reputation and sound!
"We’ve booked for late April to begin tracking at Melbourne Records with Ren Parisi - recorded our previous TEN KNUCKLE TAUNT ep. last year.
"Melbourne Records were an integral part in crafting our sound from our last session, we are confident and excited to be working with them again.
"Some pre-production tracks have been demo’d with our brother in drunkin’ mayhem Hayden Oliver of Strict Vincent - he makes a heavy band, sound heavier!and its sounding bloody heavy.
"The album has been titled, VIOLENT.AGGRESSIVE , the tracks however are yet to be confirmed. We hope to post some video of the sessions and possibly some early releases as they are completed - keep a keen eye on the space for updates. Gigs will be scattered throughout the year as not to dissrupt the progression of the album - we will be around and will update on a full tour of the album (national with the possibility of NZ) closer to the its completion."

Heart Of Steel Records has issued the following announcement about signing Greek / German metal band Winters Dawn:
"Heart Of Steel Records is proud to announce the latest member of our family: WINTERS DAWN
"Winters Dawn were formed in Greece during 1998, and - after various line-up changes – they recorded their first Mini-CD "Nitro" in late 2003. Although, in the meantime, singer Stelios "Theo" relocated to Germany, the band recorded, during 2008, their full-length debut-album called “The Winter Is Dawning”, which is now ready for an official worldwide release thru’ Heart Of Steel Records... .."The Winter Is Dawning" is a perfect mix of US Power Metal a la Savatage / Crimson Glory / Riot (“Thundersteel” era) and Jag Panzer, enforced by brilliant and emotional melodies that are carrying this special “old-school” Metal touch. There are also moments of thunderous breakings when songs are getting even wilder thanks to selective Speed Metal touches a la early Agent Steel and Annihilator... ..That is why 3 excellent guitar-players and “icons” in the Metal genre like Jeff Waters (of Annihilator), Theodore Ziras and Chris Caffery believed in the band and recorded 5 incredible solos on the album!.. ..As usual for all of our releases, the Cd will have a de-luxe full-color booklet with lyrics & pics... ..Release-date: early May 2009."

"With this statement we have to announce the split with the drummer Francesco Struglia. Hope the best for him with his job and music careers. Considering how important is the presence of a stable drummer instead of sessions, we decided during the last months to move on and give a new shape to the band. Since Francesco Paoli handled the arrangement of all drum parts (check the new video) and I (Paolo) wrote all the lyrics for the album “Oracles”, the best thing it seemed to do was start on playing what each one of us did for the album."
