MetalSucks.net has interviewed Killswitch Engage drummer Justin Foley in a "Beard on Beard" interview, about his beard of all things. Here's the intro:
"Justin Foley, the fire-maned skinsman for Killswitch Engage, has got one hell of a monstrous beard. You've no doubt seen it in the "Holy Diver" video, but if you saw the band on tour recently you'd see that Foley's man-whiskers have grown to catastrophic proportions. As an aspiring beardo myself, I was thrilled to have the opportunity recently to interview Justin - exclusively about his beard - both for the sake of interesting MetalSucks content and for my own beard-growing aspirations. Trust me, these things don't just take care of themselves; lots of time and effort goes into keeping our face-pubes nice and healthy."
After the jump, Justin shares with Metalsucks.net the history and inspiration behind his beard, his beard heroes, the recent trend of beards in metal, beard grooming tips, and a whole lot more. It's every beard-grower's dream.

After being scammed on the production of the Optimist/Devilica split CD, hacked, and locked out of their MySpace account, Mannequin Rein Recordings has decided to go on hiatus. The label will be sending out hand-made copies of the split for those who ordered it, but requires that you send in your address since they lost all email records of orders.

Master’s "Slaves to Society" CD with bonus tracks will be released on Ibex Moon Records this Summer
MASTER, originally from Chicago, IL now resides in the Czech Republic featuring members Paul Speckmann bass and vocals (Abomination, Death Strike, Speckmann Project, ex-Krabathor, Martyr (Cze), ex-War Cry, Funeral Bitch (US), Solutions, Walpurgisnacht (US)) Alex Nejezchleba lead and rythem guitars , (Shaark, Mamut (Cze)), Zdenek Pradlovsky Drums (Shaark, Kreyson). MASTER was formed in late 1983 and released nine full-length albums on Nuclear Blast, Twilight Vertrieb, Displeased, System Shock and Pavement. Paul Speckmann and Master have had an important impact on the development of extreme metal, including being a major influence on bands like Napalm Death, Death, Benediction, Terrorizer, Nausea, Carcass, Pestilence, and many more, not to mention pretty much the entire early 90’s Swedish death metal scene.
John McEntee, owner of Ibex Moon Records comments:
"In the 80’s when I started really getting into the metal underground I would have never thought one day I would be releasing a recording by one of my favorite bands and biggest influences MASTER. For me and most other die hard underground metallers in the 80’s and early 90’s understand the massive impact MASTER has had on the world of extreme metal. Most of the extreme bands that have gone on to massive success in the early 90’s wave of death metal would be lying if they said they weren’t affected one way or another by the powerful aggressive songs of MASTER. 'Slaves to Society' is quite possibly MASTER’S most aggressive album released to date and I’m honored to be working with them."
Paul Speckmann states, "This is an album that deals with the situation happening in the world today. We are all Slaves of the greater machine, just Slaves To Society."
Ibex Moon Records will be releasing MASTER’s "Slaves to Society" in early Summer 2008. The exact release date will be announced soon.
Debello Recordings has announced the addition of Oklahoma natives Bearseekingbear to their growing roster. Bearseekingbear combines a sound not completely dissimilar to fellow Oklahoma stalwarts Machinist and Destroyer Destroyer, as well as comparisons to such indie mainstays as Meandhimcallitus, et al.
Bearseekingbear is set to unleash their self-titled Debello debut this Summer. In addition, BSB will be heading out on tour for roughly three weeks in May and June. If you can help fill in some much needed dates, please contact them immediately.
You can hear rough versions of two new tracks from their forthcoming Debello debut on the band's MySpace page.
Australia’s VIRGIN BLACK are returning to North America this fall with AMORPHIS. The tour begins September 27th, 2008 at Tremont Music Hall in Charlotte, NC. Also on the bill are LEAVES’ EYES and SAMAEL.
About the tour, guitarist Samantha Escarbe comments, "With Fortissimo unleashed, we become ever more focussed and ready to live and breath every moment of this tour. Virgin Black, circa 2008, equals unbridled passion."
The band just released the album "Requiem - Fortissimo" on THE END Records, the second installment of a trilogy, an album that exhumes the death/doom vibe of early Paradise Lost and My Dying Bride albums.

Following their departure from Candlelight Records earlier this year, the UK’s extreme metal duo Mithras decided to go it alone, sort of. Galactic Records label head Leon Macey just so happens to be one half of Mithras, responsible for writing and playing both drums and guitar for the critically acclaimed duo. Having experienced life as a band on a label such as Candlelight and ultimately parting ways due their inability to commit to a schedule of intensive touring having had persistent bad luck in finding a drummer to fill in live, signing to Leon’s own label for their next release made a lot of sense, for obvious reasons.
"I really enjoyed working with Candlelight, both with them reissuing our first two albums ’Forever Advancing...... Legions’ and ’Worlds Beyond The Veil’, not to mention our first release proper for them, ’Behind The Shadows Lie Madness.’ However, as a band, both Rayner (Coss - vocals / bass) and I decided that rather than enter into the gruelling task of starting up discussions with interested labels, we’d sign the band to my own label Galactic for our next release. It was a logical step to take - at least we know who we’re dealing with at Galactic, and they’re top notch guys, of course - lol!"
A Mithras release is scheduled for Autumn this year. Full details are set to follow shortly.
In related news, the band’s website, mithras.org.uk, has been completely overhauled. As well as featuring new galleries which span their near 10 years of existence, the site will soon contain extensive information about each of their releases.
All their current albums; ’Forever Advancing...... Legions’, ’Worlds Beyond The Veil’, and their current release, ’Behind The Shadows Lie Madness’, remain available through Candlelight Records.
Rayner Coss: oratory / bass
Leon Macey: guitar / drums

Stockholm, Sweden-based extreme metallers MACHINERY will release their sophomore album, "The Passing", on May 19 via Regain Records (pushed back from the previously announced April 28). The CD was recorded in June 2007 at Black Lounge Studio with producer Jonas Kjellgren (SCAR SYMMETRY). Another track from the album, "Dead Man", is available for streaming on the MACHINERY MySpace page.
According to a press release, "The Passing" can be described as "an intense journey in epic and diverse metal. An album with great songs and an unique style that covers heavv, death, black and thrash metal! A perfect blend of what should truly appeal to every metalhead!"
Commented producer Kjellgren: "It's a truly epic and diverse metal album with great songs and an unique style that covers everything I love about metal: heavy metal, death metal, black metal, thrash metal! Superb drums, guitars, bass, keyboards and vocals... all you need, hehe. It was really fun to work with the band since they're all truly amazing musicians and have a very professional attitude towards making music!"
Canada’s NEURAXIS has issued the band’s latest webisode video clip entitled Neuraxis Studio Episode #2 – Guitars, featuring footage and interviews from the recording of the band’s fifth studio record. Footage is available online at the band’s MySpace page.
Neuraxis tapped Jef Fortin (of fellow Canadians Anonymus) to record the band’s debut album for Prosthetic Records, The Thin Line Between, which will also feature a guest vocal cameo from the legendary Luc Lemay (GORGUTS, NEGATIVA).
"The writing and recording process for The Thin Line Between was probably the most intense I've ever experienced,” says guitarist Rob Milley. “Sound-wise this is going to be our best so far. Song-wise, it’s our most complete album to date."
“I'm very happy with how the guitar playing was captured,” added fellow guitarist Will Seghers says. “Precise, vicious and dynamic are words that come to my mind when hearing the new album." More excerpts are available in the webisode. More...

It Prevails has announced plans to go on hiatus following several problematic developments. According to the group, "It Prevails is simply going to resign from being a full-time band at the moment. Call it a hiatus, if you must."
Chief among the aforementioned developments is the departure of drummer Aaron Marsh. Frontman Ian Fike explains:
"After four years, Aaron Marsh has decided to leave It Prevails and not continue to tour with us any longer. For those who know and for the people who dont, touring and being in a full time band is one of the most dangerous financial and mental positions to put yourself in. Constantly digging your self out of debt between tours but still having to pay to live and eat on the road is a very hard thing to do, some people crack under this pressure. Aaron has."
Meanwhile, the band has lost their rehearsal spot, parted ways with guitarist Jake Harris ("reasons are quite personal"), and is in to "debt up to our ears." Fike goes on:
"All these reasons at hand force us to cancel both our Ligiea, Since The Flood, Unholy tour, and the Means, Farewell To Freeway, TWWK tour. Yes it sucks, but let's get this straight. We are not breaking up and we are putting out another record! But some other bad news, it will not be released on Rise Records. We are funding the recording and art direction ourselves and it will be out before year's end, you have my word. But it may only be released by ourselves. We’'ll figure it out as it nears.
"We are also going to do one more run in both Canada and the U.S.A. starting August 10th until mid -September with our good friends Carry the Torch. Along with other bands, these tours will be announced soon. But please consider this our last and final US jaunt, so anyone interested in ever seeing us close to you again, go to these shows!
"We are looking for a new drummer to replace Aaron so interested parties please reply. We will also be putting up a few new songs from our next record, they are in pre-production stages (decent demos) but hey, it's new, so shutup ;) They will be up in the coming weeks.
"As for now, I hope not everyone has lost faith in us, we will continue to carry this band."

Swedish deathsquad DEMONICAL have issued the following update:
"We hereby announce that Sverker "Widda" Widgren - also known for his guitarwork with DIABOLICAL and as the co-owner of Necromorbus Studios - has joined Demonical as the new full-time vocalist.
After a splendid session-job on the Finnish tour we came to the conclusion that Widda is the right man for the job. His first "official" show will be at Tantogården in Stockholm on April 4th together with NECROPHOBID and SPAZMOSITY.
We are also sorry for the fact that we have to cancel the scheduled show in Västerås, Sweden, set for May 9th due to various timing problems.
Martin & Demonical."
Veteran San Francisco Bay Area metallers TESTAMENT are rumored to have been added to the upcoming summer tour featuring HEAVEN AND HELL, JUDAS PRIEST and MOTÖRHEAD. It should be noted, however, that this information has not yet been corrobated by an official source and should be considered a rumor only at this point.
A brand new TESTAMENT track, entitled "More Than Meets The Eye", has been posted on the group's MySpace page. The song comes off the group's forthcoming album, "The Formation of Damnation", due in North America on April 29 via Nuclear Blast Records.
The band recorded the effort in part with producer Andy Sneap (MACHINE HEAD, EXODUS, ARCH ENEMY, NEVERMORE) at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley, California.
"The Formation of Damnation" track listing:
01. For The Glory Of
02. More Than Meets The Eye

07. Henchmen Ride

Prosthetic Records has just re-released TESTAMENT's "First Strike Still Deadly" album. Originally issued in 2001 on Spitfire Records, the updated version features new artwork.
"First Strike Still Deadly" is a compilation of early tracks re-recorded in 2001 by Chuck Billy (vocals), Alex Skolnick (guitar), Eric Peterson (guitar), Steve DiGiorgio (bass) and John Tempesta (drums) to give the songs a "modern, updated" feel. Also making an appearance on "First Strike Still Deadly" is the group's original vocalist — in the days when TESTAMENT was known as LEGACY — Steve Souza (EXODUS, DUBLIN DEATH PATROL), on "Alone In The Dark" and "Reign Of Terror".
According to The Pulse of Radio, rumors have surfaced that the original lineup of KORN be reuniting in the not-too-distant future. No other information was offered as to when this could happen or whether the original five members would record a new album or hit the road. KORN's lineup was stable for the first 12 years and six albums of the band's existence, until guitarist Brian "Head" Welch left the group in early 2005 to devote his life to Christianity. Drummer David Silveria followed in late 2006, taking a "temporary hiatus" to spend time with his family and oversee his restaurant business. Singer Jonathan Davis, guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer and bassist Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu have carried on with a revolving cast of touring and studio musicians in the interim, vowing not to find permanent replacements.
KORN's eighth studio album, which was untitled, came out last summer.
The band has trips to South America, Australia and New Zealand planned for April, after which Davis will embark on a solo European tour in May and June.
Shaffer recently started a new project called FEAR AND THE NERVOUS SYSTEM, with a self-titled debut album due to arrive on August 8 through his own Emotional Syphon label. The CD also features guest appearances by past and present members of FAITH NO MORE, LIMP BIZKIT and BAD RELIGION.
Arvizu also has a solo project reportedly in the works, while Welch published a memoir last year titled "Save Me from Myself: How I Found God, Quit Korn, Kicked Drugs, and Lived to Tell My Story".
UNCUT has issued the following report:
LED ZEPPELIN's ROBERT PLANT has said that it is still highly unlikely that the band will go on a full-blown world tour, but there is a chance of more one-off perfomances, if the reason was right.
Speaking in the new (May 2008) edition of UNCUT magazine, the singer says: "Hopefully, one day, we could do it again. Our profit is - it's metaphysical."

Skeletonwitch has been assaulting their hybrid of thrash, death and black metal to unsuspecting crowds since 2003. The Ohio natives are one of the hardest working bands in the underground and have won the respect of fans and critics alike. Now signed to Prosthetic Records, they recently released "Beyond the Permafrost" and will head out on tour with Hate Eternal in April. I recently spoke with Skeletonwitch vocalist Chance Garnette exclusively for Metal Underground.com anout about the band's history, his love for Howard Stern and his thoughts on the thrash metal resurgence. Century Media Records reports:
Swedish metal innovators THE HAUNTED are back on the map with some good news, as they have just finished the pre-production for their new, still untitled, album. The band is soon to enter PUK studio in Denmark to start working with producer Tue Madsen (HEAVEN SHALL BURN, DARK TRANQUILLITY, MOONSPELL, etc.), who has already co-operated with The Haunted on their two previous albums, rEVOLVEr and The Dead Eye.
Jonas Björler (bass) reports: "Right now we're rehearsing like madmen. This is the final week before we enter the PUK studio in Denmark. Right now we have like 20+ songs, so we have a lot of material to choose from; I think we aim at putting 11 or 12 on the CD. This time around we worked 6 months on the songs, and I think that really paid off - none of the songs sound alike, and the material sounds really heavy and groovy"
As a special preview, The Haunted have now posted a new video online which shows them during pre-production activities for the upcoming album. You can find the clip below... More...
A sample of a brand new Motley Crue song entitled "The Saints Of Los Angeles" has been leaked via YouTube. You can check out the clip below.
There have been numerous reports on the new album, all of which basically claiming it to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. More (and actual) information is expected to be announced on April 15th when the band will hold a huge press conference claiming to have the "biggest music announcement of the year". More...
The Classic Struggle has dropped off the remainder of their current tour. Here's the official word:
"Once again I have terrible news. In the last week or so some complications with our record has come up and we have no choice but to cancel the remainder of the Sons Of Azrael, As Eden Burns tour along with our Canada run with The Breathing Process and The World We Knew to take care of these things and get this record ready for release for all you. We will still be doing the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival and our U.S. tour with With Dead Hands Rising, A Breath Before Surfacing, and Ghost Of A Fallen Age. Also keep an eye out for us in the southeast playing one-offs and weekends. It’s been too long already and we need to focus on getting our new material into your hands. It would be impossible to get these things done correctly from the road, so we feel this is the best decision. Please keep checking back for more future dates to make up for all this cancelled shit."
As previously reported, The Classic Struggle had to cancel their dates this week following an injury to vocalist Tim Zlinksky, who recently shattered his wrist earlier in the month. Zlinsky had surgery to "rebuild his wrist with a metal plate and some screws" but was expected to be back on the road shortly.
DARKANE guitarist Christofer Malmström has posted this message on his MySpace page:
As you might know by now DARKANE is recording our fifth yet untitled album. We've been living in the studio for about five weeks now, and hopefully everything will be recorded and ready to be mixed when this week is over. We have a guy named Per following every step we take in the studio with a video camera and putting up video diary blogs every now and then, along with studio reports from Peter Wildoer (drums). So far three of them are up and the fourth (including guitar recording) will be up later this week. Check them out at Darkane.com. Our forum is also back online, so feel free to pay a visit and discuss the video blogs or anything else regarding DARKANE.
Jens (Broman) is recording the vocals this week and I will probably record my last three solos tomorrow. I've got a new Ibanez guitar last week. This time it's a RG2610 BK Prestige, and I really love it! It's a little cheaper version of the RG3120 with only one humbucker pickup and no tone control or switch... but who needs that when it's METAL!! I like it a lot and will probably use it as my main live guitar from now on.
Speaking of live, when the mixing is done we are gonna take a trip to beautiful Chicago IL and play the Chicago Powerfest (May 2-3) together with bands such as TESTAMENT and ICED EARTH. We are really looking forward to this! See you there!
So take a look at the DARKANE video diaries and tell all your friends about them.
I'm about to watch the soccer game between Brazil and Sweden now. I know we will lose but I've bet money on Sweden to win just for the sake of it... I'm not a good gambler.
Metal Blade has issued this press release:
After nine years of supporting Canada, Canada gives back to UNEARTH.
The "Alive From The Apocalypse" DVD is officially gold in Canada just after its first day of release! This will not be the last market UNEARTH's first DVD hits record breaking numbers and achieves gold status, however Canada is the first territory to commemorate certified gold. In its first week of release "Alive From The Apocalypse" lands #15 on the Top selling music video/DVD charts in Canada.
Trevor Phipps had this to say about UNEARTH's huge achievement "Heavy Metal, traveling the world, all the beer and whiskey we can drink, and now a Gold DVD. Fuck man, does it get any cooler than this? Thanks to all our fans in Canada for being the first country to make any of our releases Gold. You all have supported us ever since our first trip north of the border in 1999 and shit just keeps getting better. You all fucking rule. See you on the road soon and thanks!!!"
Recently rejoined Sevendust guitarist Clint Lowery (also of Dark New Day and ex touring guitarist for Korn), has issued the following statement regarding his return to Sevendust:
"As most of you know I have rejoined with my bros. in Sevendust. I’m beyond excited about sharing the stage with them and being apart of their world again. First things first, Sonny (Mayo) did an unreal job with the guys and I’m sure I will share some of the pressures of filling his shoes as he did so sucessfully filling mine and then some. I respect Sonny and love him and wish him the best because I have no doubt he will continue success in whatever he does.
"I won’t get into how this all came about, I will only speak for myself. For me this is a great chance to play with a band I owe my career to and went through everything with for many years good and bad. When you spend that amount of time in a band you form a bond that’s not easily broken. Time has past and I believe nothing in God's world happens by mistake.
"I’d like to address the fans of both Sevendust and Dark New Day. You have all truly been so amazing and really make me remember why I do this. For some this will be hard to understand. All I can say is that I will do my best to be a solid member of Sevendust and give you back what you give to any of us who play music. My brother (Corey Lowery) dreamt up what would eventually become Dark New Day. We wanted to play together and to do that with Troy, Brett and Will was a dream come true. I truly believe that we did what we set out to do and that was simply to make music together. Corey and I will always continue to make music together. I wish all the guys the best and love them more than words can say. And I pray that the record we did will see the light of day especially for the people who waited so patiently.
"Being back in Sevendust is truly a very exciting time for me and I feel like it will be a very positive thing. I love the records they did while I was gone and actually look forward to playing those songs more than the ones I did with them. I look forward to writing new music with them. But for now I want to do my part in supporting the incredible music they’ve created and just be the guitar player. Sevendust is way bigger than any one person, it has a supporting fan base that's rabid and I love all of you because I have been one of you for the past few years. Just another person who loved Sevendust from the outside. Now I’m back in and I promise I will bust my ass to do the job Sevendust deserves.
"God Bless everyone and see ya on tour!
PAIN, has checked in from their tour with NIGHTWISH with the following update:
"We arrived three days ago in London. The visit started out with a day off in the bus at a parking lot. As usual we were broke, but our secret guest on the bus (that by the way is Johan's wife Lena) offered herself to lend us money if we could find a cash machine. We found one, which ate her VISA-card and we were back on step one again. After a horrible 24 houres in the bus eating things we could find on the floor with The Nutty Professor on TV we did our first show in London. Since the night before had been calm I think we did an excellent job. The crowd though seemed more shocked and 'tagen på sängen' but still enjoying the show.
After the show and after Nightwish had finished we took a walk to 'Bröderna Olson' (old Swedish tradition) to get a 'Blood Shot' but they had already closed so we continued to Crowbar (old Swedish tradition) to finish off the evening.
Tonight we made our second show in London (also sold out) and tonight things were better. You Londoners really are getting hooked on PAIN, that's for sure. Many thanks!!!
Right now Nightwish are finishing their last songs and our plan is to do a re-run of last night. We're off to Crowbar in a couple of minutes (it's like Pub Anchor in Stockholm) to meet some old friends.
Apart from that, I would like to appoligize for the gap between our posts. We had so much fun we haven't thought of it (also my phone has died and England doesn't seem to have wireless internet on their venues). The picture on the left is taken at Astoria, our gig place and notorious gay club host in London.
See you tomorrow!!!" More...

Sons Of Azrael issue the following update on their MySpace page:
"Due to musical and creative differences, Greg D has decided to part ways with us."
"Although a great loss, THE SHOW MUST GO ON!!"
'It was a tough decision to make, but once again I have to follow my heart and guts on this one. The usual ’creative differences’ are the cause of this rift. Depending on how fast the band finds a replacement for me, I may still do a few more shows with them, but that is entirely up to the rest of the band. I’d like to thank Joe, Derrick, Tony and Bobby for the opportunity and for raging it up with me on and offstage for the last two years. Also I’d like to thank Trevor and Bud at Ironclad for the trust, support, friendship, and belief that they have shown and displayed during my time in the band. Last but certainly not least, the fans. Cheesy as it is, you make it possible and worthwhile to do what we do. You guys and gals rule. Fear not, the band will most definately continue without me, and will continue to rage, crush, thrash, and destroy any stage that dares to let them stand on it. As for me, I will be starting a new project in the next few weeks. No need to say what it’ll sound like, because if you know me, I’m sure you’ll have a good idea of what to expect. Take care, and keep your eyes and ears open.'" More...

Korea's #1 thrash metal killing machine MAHATMA will be co-headlining this year's Pulp Summer Slam - the Philippine's biggest annual rock event - with DARKEST HOUR. Last year's Summer Slam had a total of 35,000 in attendance with Death Angel as the headliner. This year, the organizers are hoping to break last year's attendance by putting more foreign acts to the line up plus the Philippine's best rock/metal bands. With Mahatma and Darkest Hour as the headliners, the crowd will be treated to full metal assault with Darkest Hour's Americanized Gothenburg metal and Mahatma's 80's Bay Area inspired thrash metal. This is a certified headbanging galore and mosh inducing frenzy event. Summer Slam 8 will be held at Amoranto Stadium, Quezon City, Philippines on the 26th of April. For more info, please do visit pulpcommunity.com
Mahatma will also be headlining a pre-Summer Slam show on the 25th of April with some local metal bands from the Philippines. The venue and the official line up will be announced shortly, but the show is already confirmed.
The Philippine tour is in support of Mahatma's highly acclaimed sophomore album, "Perseverance." You can listen to some of the songs from the album on the band's MySpace.

On Monday, March 17th, Gibson Guitar Corp. brought a lawsuit against various retailers, including GameStop, Wal-Mart, Target, Kmart, Amazon, and Toys "R" Us, seeking to prohibit sales of the games, which, Gibson asserts are infringing on one of Gibson Guitar's U.S. patents. The company claimed it took "this action reluctantly, but is required to protect its intellectual property."
The patent in question is Gibson's 1999 patent for "System and Method for Generating and Controlling a Simulated Musical Concert Experience," which may in fact be in question due to Konami's GuitarFreaks game that made its debut in Japan in 1999, meaning it was most likely in the production and planning phases since 1998 at the latest - most likely earlier.
A licensing agreement was filed prior to the lawsuit regarding the replication of Gibson's guitar designs for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 3, PC, and PS2).
Activision went on the offensive and released the following statement:
"Gibson's lawsuit is a transparent end run around an impartial court that Activision asked on March 11 to rule on patent assertions that Gibson knows have no merit. Our Guitar Hero retailing partners have done nothing wrong. We will confront this and any other efforts by Gibson to wrongfully interfere with Activision's relationship with its customers and its consumers."
"As Activision noted in its filing, Gibson waited three years to make its patent allegations, and only did so after it became clear that Activision was not interested in renewing its marketing and support agreement with Gibson. Activision continues to believe that Gibson's claims are disingenuous and lack any justification."

Sweden's SKYFIRE have issued a new studio update. It can be found below:
"Everything’s going well. The month of March has been especially slow because Martin had to move into his new apartment. More than half of the music for the new album is recorded and after that, Jocke will lay down vocal tracks which we are all extremely excited to hear! Our label reps have heard some rough demos that Andreas and Martin put together and were extremely impressed so we’re hoping you guys will be too! We’re hoping the album will be 100% finished by May or June so that it can see a late fall/early winter release. We are also excited to say that we are negotiating our first European tour in support of the new album and we will keep you updated on that situation."
"Lastly, as you might already know we’ve signed a merch deal with SMC Merchandising! The deal will allow easy and affordable distribution to all our fans in the US that have been requesting Skyfire gear for some time now. We’ll have some fresh original designs for you to buy very soon! We’ve got more news as well, but perhaps it can wait for the next update."
Quebec-based dark metallers NECRONOMICON have issued the following update:
"We are happy to anounce the extras on the Return Of The Witch album have been recorded. Extras featured include: Arianne Fleury (ex-AUGURY) and Roxanne Constantin (NEGATIVA, QUO VADIS) and others. Rob the Witch's (guitars, vocals) recovery from a throat injury is going well. A minor infection is still on and off but everything should be good for the April 3rd show at the Metropolis in Montreal [with DIMMU BORGIR and BEHEMOTH]. Some tests will be done this weekend while Rob will be recording his vocal tracks on the album. If everything is good the band should be ready to mix really soon. Scheduled for first week of April, the entire crew and of course the producer as well as the band will meet on the set for the video clip of 'The Time Is Now' to talk about the last details before setting the official date of shooting."
