"Bondage Goat Zombie", the new video from Austrian extreme metallers BELPHEGOR, can be viewed here. The clip was shot with acclaimed Austrian director Florian Werner.
Commented BELPHEGOR's Helmuth: "The video to 'Bondage Goat Zombie' delivers a four-minute sound wall of total destruction and melodic riff explosions. The title track hymn relates to the BELPHEGOR trademark of Satanism, bondage domination sadism and masochism and the devil's pact. Veneratio Diaboli - Die Toten Reiten schnell (The Dead Ride Fast). The track 'Bondage Goat Zombie' is distinguished in English, German and Latin, and contains some of the most aggressive vocal work I've ever unleashed. BELPHEGOR will continue to keep the fucking devil and demonic spirit in metal music alive, unleash more energy, and give the die-hard brothers and sisters ultimate hell."
In a posting on the official Wacken Open Air website, it has been revealed that Aussie rockers Airbourne will join the festivities at the German event. They will join a bill which already features such big names in metal as Iron Maiden, Kreator and Exodus.

SEVENDUST has announced the return of original guitar player Clint Lowery to the band.
Lowery was with Sevendust when they formed in 1995 and signed to TVT Records in 1997. Lowery was a key member of the Sevendust attack throughout the their TVT years which saw the band release "Sevendust" (1997), "Home" (1999), "Animosity" (2001), "Seasons" (2003) and "Southside Double Wide" (2003).
After leaving TVT in 2003 the band and Lowery mutually parted ways, with Lowery moving on to join his brother in the band DARK NEW DAY. Sevendust brought in former SNOT guitar player Sonny Mayo to replace Lowery and went on to release three full length albums. Next (2004) on the now defunct Winedark Records, Alpha (2007) on 7Bros. Records, Sevendust's wholly owned label through Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group and "Chapter VII: Hope & Sorrow," which comes out April 1st on 7Bros/Asylum.
Sevendust statements on Lowery's return: "This was extremely tough considering Sonny is our brother and has been amazing to work with. He didn't do anything wrong at all, we just owe it to ourselves and all the folks that grew up with us to put our original band back together. Clint has always been our brother and Sonny will always remain our brother as well. We are sorry to say goodbye to Sonny and I'm sure this will be tough on the fans that follow him, but we're excited about reuniting the original lineup of Sevendust." - Morgan Rose, Drums
"Everything happens for a reason. Sonny is an incredible person and we thank him for everything. Just like when you leave home, you come back! Hopefully everyone will understand the decision we have made. God bless you all. Welcome home Clint Lowery." - LaJon Witherspoon, Vocals
Sevendust's new record, "Chapter VII: Hope & Sorrow," is out on Tuesday, April 1st. The album was produced by Shawn Grove, Morgan Rose & John Connolly in Atlanta, GA at Tree Sounds Studios.

The special line-up features three bands that all have a close association with Paul. None more so that Gundogs who feature Paul’s brother Dan on bass. Dan said of the event “'I hope that this show and the love that underpins its spirit, will be loud enough to reach Paul at the right hand of God. He would be proud to see so many of his great friends come together in this way.'
Also featured on the bill are October File who many will have seen on recent Killing Joke tours and Headcount who had their 2004 album, "Die Monkey Die," produced by Paul. Headcount singer Rob Moss said of Paul “What better way to remember Paul than an evening of floor to floor rock n roll. He'd have been first up there, kicking it up!” Steve Beatty of October File added " We shall endeavor to honor and salute Paul as best and as fitting as we can. We hope he is attending in spirit."
October File’s acclaimed new album, "Holy Armour From the Jaws of God," is available now from Candlelight Records.
Darsombra's "Eternal Jewel" CD on Public Guilt is now available at darsombra.com. This disc will not be in stores until April 29th.
"Eternal Jewel," the second full length album from Baltimore's Brian Daniloski, is a mix of improvised and structured recordings primarily composed on the baritone guitar. The tracks are best described as equal parts doom, psychedelic experimentation and 20th Century composition. From powerful and doom drenched sections to minimal and shimmering to aggressive rhythms that sound like a pounding string section, Eternal Jewel is some of the strongest material yet from Darsombra.
The packaging for this release features letter-pressed metallic silver ink on thick black gatefold sleeve with a six panel, art only booklet with two mixed media pieces by artist/package designer Stephen Kasner. You can check out the full layout on Darsombra's MySpace.

Reuters has an article on System of a Down frontman turned solo artist, Serj Tankian, including an interview with him discussing topics of the environment and being a "green" band in-depth. Here's an interesting excerpt:
Q: This is all great, but I'm wondering how you justify being part of an industry that produces so much waste. You've sold more than 10 million CDs, and many of those were in plastic containers that had to be shipped to stores.
Tankian: Basically, we're all hypocrites unless we go out and live off the land. That way of living is a model for me, because I think those people are clued in about climate change and the way we're going to have to alter our lives. I spend a lot of the record talking about the end of civilization, and I don't mean an apocalypse. I think that we are going to have to come to terms with the fact that the way we live now will not exist in 50 years, period.
Q: Along those same lines, you have been touring for this record, and while you have carbon offset programs in place, you are still using a lot of resources and putting a lot of goods out there. How do you reconcile that with your belief system?
Tankian: Again, I realize I am a hypocrite by going on the road and doing this. I've had an idea for a long time, which might sound a little crazy, but I really want to look into holographic touring. I think we could reduce our need to travel if we could project ourselves into meetings and concerts. We have the technology, and we're not using it right now.
For instance, I have a studio next to my house and a live performance room in the studio. I could broadcast a show in real time and could interact with the audience as if we were in the same room. After all, it's not like the audience can touch me, anyway. (laughs) It would open up a whole new world for touring -- shows wouldn't have to be limited to bars or clubs. There would be no travel costs, so bands with very little money could play shows, and tickets would cost less.

The e-card is in support of StarOfAsh's latest album, "The Thread" (Candlelight Records/Mnemosyne Productions), Heidi’s collaborators include the German musician and composer Markus Reuter and the Japanese cyber-punk writer Kenji Siratori. Musically this album explores new ground in instrumentation and structure, yet continues the cinematic and elegant atmosphere of previous recordings. Over constantly changing sonic sceneries, the compelling melody is still the leading thread from beginning to end.
Marc Rizzo is one of the new breed of young guitarists in contemporary bands and has built a substantial following through his years of touring and recording with ILL NINO, SOULFLY and now breaking metal history with shredding for metal icons Max and Iggor Cavalera in CAVALERA CONSPIRACY.
Rizzo has stepped out with solo projects that reveal a phenomenal command of the guitar. Both solo albums unveils Rizzo to be a master musician with deep musical roots in metal, classical and flamenco guitar.
Colossal Myopia is a mixture of all the music that Rizzo listens to. It’s a combination of metal, nuevo flamenco and jazz.
“I don’t really listen to one type of music and I think my record showcases that,” explains Rizzo. “It’s an all instrumental CD for music lovers that want to enjoy pure music without all the politics and negative lyrical content.” More...
