"Swashbuckle confirmed for 70,000 tons of metal cruise (ship terror!) ......That's right, you sea chum. You knew it had to happen eventually... Swashbuckle is confirmed for the biggest floating metal festival in the history of water - 70,000 tons of metal. Featuring 40 bands, this 4 day booze-cruise will embark from Miami, Florida on January 24th, 2011, make berth in beautiful Cozumel, Mexico, and return to Miami on January 28th. We'll be sharing this ridiculous floating stage with the likes of Sodom, Amon Amarth, Finntroll, Obituary, Saxon, and plenty more kick ass bands.
"This is a legit cruise ship, people. With casinos, lounges, spas, shops, bars, shuffleboard, lifeboats, fitness centers, bars, room service, rock climbing walls, and bars with lots of alcohol... Book your cabin now and witness cruise ship terror become reality! If Cozumel is lucky, maybe we won't steal their ancient Mayan ruins."

The Dillinger Escape Plan has issued the following update about the sales of their new album "Option Paralysis," which was released yesterday, March 23rd:
"First off, thanks for everyone who went out and got our record on day one. It made a difference. We were neck and neck with people on the Itunes and Amazon charts that were just hilarious to us. Sandwiched in between JIMI FUCKING HENDRIX and PEARL JAM on the Itunes rock charts was little ol' us, and on the main album charts page we were in the company of mouthbreathers like Kesha and Disney pedophilia wet dream icon Justin Beiber. Life is, at times, hilarious. How killer is it that we basically sound like noise to the average person, that if we were an animal we would literally use those aforementioned people as food, and yet there we were in their company. Talk about infiltrating enemy territory.
"We're like the dudes that were just doing their thing and then somehow ended up in some yuppie house party and before you know it we're trashing the place like it's the Beastie Boys ‘Fight For Your Right To Party’ video and everyone there's just gotta deal with our presence or get the hell out. Somethin' like that. So thanks to you guys so far. This album is making so much noise that people on the sidelines can't help but deal with our obnoxious presence in their boring comfortable existence. We're showing up and pissing badassery all over the mainstream music world's high priced carpets and you guys are right there with us. Suck it, Beiber.
"Yet, with all of the first day insanity, and despite the last blog, some of you have still been writing in saying ‘dudes....I went to Wal-Mart and they didn't have yer album....whadda I do?’ So...for those....I wanna show you in the Easiest way possible, how to go about obtaining our new album, ‘Option Paralysis.’ Here are some...uh....options, that don't involve wandering around in a huge warehouse full of garbage: More...

Vocalist Dmitry "Mr. Scavenger" of Russian death metal act Defect Designer has issued the following update about parting ways with the band's guitarist:
"I did not have an opportunity to do it before but I have to say it now. On 22.03.2010 we had a great gig with Napalm Death in Novosibirsk. Unusually lots of people in a club and unusually noisy terror coming from stage! This gig actually was the last for our good friend Kirill who performed the vast majority of guitar shredding on our debut album 'Wax' - in Poland, in Hertz studio, and was the band member since the end of 2007.
"A bit sad to say that now we part ways. I think Kirill is one of the people without whom Defect Designer would not exist - he is responsible for bringing me into metal in early age at school and did a lot of influential things for all our defected personalities. We've already welcomed the new member so don't worry, we'll still continue to kick ass. News to come soon. Be with us."

Speaking to Britains Kerrang! magazine, Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison revealed that his old side-project, the Murderdolls are to reunite this year and release another album. An excerpt from the interview reads as follows:
What started the ball rolling with to playing together again?
"It’s been an ongoing conversation between Wednesday and I from 2006 until now. We were bored with everything out there, and thought we had something to piss people off and shake things up. Everything is such a product or a fucking formula these days... Fuck formula! Fuck the norm!"
Apart from Wednesday 13, who else is in the band?
"Much like the way Darkthrone or Satyricon make records, Wednesday and I are doing the record ourselves with a couple of very special guests."
When most of us go to play a CD or MP3 file, we don’t immediately think to check the production quality before giving the song our full attention. We judge the song based on a simple instinct of whether we like what we hear, or we don’t. As a listener, you place a certain amount of trust into the artist and production team to deliver a product that can sound good and balanced in any stereo you play it from. This is essentially the job of a mastering engineer.
Once the artist completes their recorded performance, the producer and recording engineer will mix the songs and pass them on to the mastering engineer. This stage in the recording process is where all the bells and whistles are addressed. Making sure the frequency equalization is balanced so there is not too much bass or treble destroying your speakers, adjusting volume fade in/outs on the front/back of certain songs, and most importantly adjusting the overall volume level or “loudness” of the entire album.
