14 video clips of SEPULTURA performing at the Forum in London, England on Wednesday, March 22 have been posted online at YouTube.com.
SEPULTURA are currently on the road in Europe as direct support to Sweden's IN FLAMES. Filling in on drums during the tour is Roy Mayorga, who is standing in for founding member Igor Cavalera. Igor is taking a break from the group's touring activities to spend time with his second wife and their new son (who was born in January). Mayorga, who played with Igor's brother Max for several years in the late '90s and again in 2001-2003, has been enlisted for SEPULTURA's European tour with IN FLAMES (which kicked off March 12 in Oslo, Norway), with the possibility that he will stick around for further touring activities beyond the spring.
Strike First Records has signed Florida hardcore outfit Call To Preserve. Formed in early-2003, the band put out a self-titled EP early last year. The group is currently finishing up the writing process for their debut full-length, which will be out later this year. You can check out some of their recent demo material here.
Swedish death metallers DARK TRANQUILLITY have posted the following message on their official website:
"Just arrived back home to the frosty plains of Sweden after having spent the last five weeks on the road. The tour was a huge success, with almost all dates being sold out. Massive thanks to OPETH, DEVILDRIVER, DEVIN TOWNSEND BAND and of course to all of you that visited the shows. Live photos will be added in the near future. If you've got any good ones, feel free to submit them to firstname.lastname@example.org. The main focus now will be the songwriting for the next album, so we'll be keeping a pretty low profile on the festival curcuit this summer, only doing a selected few shows."

After a successful show in Japan, 3 are back in the states to tour with YAKUZA. Singer of 3, Joey states, “We’re very excited to reconnect with all our friends in the Midwest and beyond. The band is all psyched up from our Japanese debut, (where we acquired some really cool samurai swords and trained to become ninjas) so basically, anything could happen at these shows.”
Joey reflects on the recent trip to Japan, “This was one of the greatest experiences of our lives. The Japanese are true music lovers and fully embraced what we do. We can’t wait to go back!”
How’s the overall response to their latest album, Wake Pig? Joey says, “Spirits are high for us right now. Reaction to Wake Pig has been overwhelmingly positive the world over. There’s nothing more inspiring than to see your art bridge oceans and connect distant cultures. What we want to do now is showcase our live performance which is something that cannot truly encapsulated on CD. To complete the picture, you’ve got to see us live…”

It's well known in the metal underground what true legend's Eyehategod have become, primarily due to the fact they created one of the most controversial and darkest forms of metal music ever, Sludge. Based in New Orleans, Louisiana and having formed originally in 1988, Eyehategod has made more than its fair share of social and political statements, literally going to hell and back to remain one of the most important heavy music bands ever. Despite numerous reports over the years of the group breaking up, they have truly withstood the test of time, albeit a bit worn, bloodied and bruised for the better. After 2005's Preaching the "End-Time" Message, a rareties collection, the band found themselves smack dab in the middle of a level 5 hurricane that almost permanently removed them and NOLA off the map for good. For a short period, the band itself was in search of its very own doom poet lead vocalist, Mike Williams, who was found later not to be dead but actually alive and locked up in jail. Philip Anselmo, said it best when uttering the statement, "Mike Williams is New Orleans." , ending the ongoing horror story come alive by digging into his own wallet and bailing the singer out. I cannot speak quite to the level of just how great this band is in the Rock N Roll pantheon, to be frank. For oft times, life's true great artists of their field aren't figured out and fully appreciated until they are no longer performing their craft or even alive for that matter. I am really proud to have this opportunity to interview Eyehategod's bass player, Gary Mader.

Featured on the tour will be a unique charity auction. CHIMAIRA reportedly shot a video for the song "Save Ourselves" during their headlining performance at The Icon in Buffalo, New York Thursday night (March 23). According to a BLABBERMOUTH.NET visitor by the name of Chris Frerotte, who attended last night's show, "after the band finished their set, they said they were now going to film the crowd going nuts and the band playing for their new music video 'Save Ourselves'. The band then played 'Save Ourselves' for the second time of the night and some fat guy with a huge mullet was on stage filming it."
"Save Ourselves" comes off CHIMAIRA's self-titled effort, which was issued last August via Roadrunner Records. "Chimaira" was recorded at Spider Studios in Ohio with producer Ben Schigel. Mixing duties were handled by Colin Richardson (MACHINE HEAD, FEAR FACTORY, NAPALM DEATH).
The debut album, Truth In Chaos, by New Jersey’s DELIAN LEAGUE has been released independently by the band following a split with Screaming Ferret Wreckords of New Hampshire.
Citing unforeseen circumstances, the label and band made a decision to part in early September, just weeks prior to the planned release date of Truth In Chaos. Without hesitation, the band requested return of the sound masters and proceeded to manufacture a limited run of full-length, fully packaged CDs. The CDs are now available for purchase via www.delianleague.com and are also being used to promote the release to the media and shop to labels for a new contract.
The album was recorded between December 2004 and May 2005 at various locations in New Jersey. Engineering was handled by Detlef Brockmann at Music-Plant, Germany, and Erik Kvortek of Trax East, South River, NJ. The band self-produced all tracks, and worked with Jason Suecof (GOD FORBID, TRIVIUM) at Audiohammer Studios, Florida, on the final mix. An excellent mastering job was done by UE Nastase at Sterling Sound, New York City.
Truth In Chaos contains 10 tracks, including all-new versions of the three songs that comprised Delian League’s demo CD, Day Of Question. The tracks are: 'The Embrace', 'Epoch Of Hate', 'Dejected', 'Lost In Sin', 'Star The Cross', 'The Questioning', 'Days Of Regret', 'Your Casualty', 'Final Day', 'Trapped Inside'.
To promote the release of Truth In Chaos, Delian League has performed a series of high profile concerts, including two huge shows at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ (with God Forbid and LIFE OF AGONY, respectively). More tri-state area shows are being planned for the spring.
Billboard.com reports that Korn has rounded up a host of live tracks and odds and ends for the appropriately titled "Live & Rare," due May 9 via Epic. The set features 10 cuts drawn from a 2003 show at New York club CBGB, a live cover of Pink Floyd’s "Another Brick in the Wall" taped in St. Louis and two songs from Korn's 1999 performance at the Woodstock Festival.
"Live & Rare" is rounded out by covers of Metallica's "One" and Cheech & Chong's "Earache My Eye," plus the B-side "Proud."
Here is the track list for "Live & Rare": More...

STONE SOUR, the band featuring SLIPKNOT singer Corey Taylor and guitarist Jim Root, are continuing work on their sophomore album with producer Nick Rasculinecz (FOO FIGHTERS, VELVET REVOLVER). "We now have 13 guitar tracks, 12 bass tracks, and 8 vocal tracks done of the 17 songs that we plan to record," guitarist Josh Rand said.
The drum tracks on the STONE SOUR CD were completed by session drummer Roy Mayorga (ex-SOULFLY, currently a touring member of SEPULTURA) after the band's regular skinsman, Joel Ekman, was forced to sit out the recording sessions for the group's new album in order to spend time with his nine-year-old son, who was diagnosed with brain stem glioma (brain cancer) last fall.
In related news, SLIPKNOT frontman Corey Taylor recently spoke to Revolver magazine about the progress of the recording sessions for the sophomore album from his STONE SOUR project, which also features in its ranks Taylor's SLIPKNOT bandmate Jim Root (guitar). The follow-up the group's 2002 self-titled debut, which went gold and featured the hit single, "Bother", is being recorded in Los Angeles with producer Nick Rasculinecz (FOO FIGHTERS, VELVET REVOLVER) and features a guest appearance on drums by Roy Mayorga (ex-SOULFLY, currently a touring member of SEPULTURA). Mayorga was enlisted to lay down the drum tracks after the band's regular skinsman, Joel Ekman, was forced to sit out the recording sessions for the group's new album in order to spend time with his nine-year-old son, who was diagnosed with brain stem glioma (brain cancer) last fall. HEROD's video for the track "Lies and Betrayal" (directed by Aaron MacPherson) has been posted online at this location. The song (mp3) comes off the Buffalo, New York-based band's second Lifeforce Records full-length CD, entitled "Rich Man's War, Poor Man's Fight", which came out earlier in the month. The album is the highly anticipated follow up to the group's critically acclaimed 2004 Lifeforce debut release, "For Whom The Gods Would Destroy". HEROD's new record sees the addition of vocalist Jason Russo, replacing previous singer Judah.
HEROD will play a hometown CD-release show on April 6 at the Mohawk Place. Also appearing on the bill are DEATH BY STEREO (Epitaph Records), ACHILLES (Hex Records), and the local Buffalo band CRIMES OF PASSION.
Savannah sludge rockers KYLESA will be back on the road on the East Coast this spring to continue supporting 2005's critically-acclaimed "To Walk A Middle Course." Last month, Kylesa settled on a replacement for the band's vacant drummer position: 2 of them. "Since the dawn of Kylesa, it was our intention to have two drummers but at the time it didn't pan out," the band says. "Finally, after 5 years it has become a reality and two new members have been added to play drums: Jeff Porter from Detroit and Carl McGinley of Savannah (who also drums for the Unpersons). We feel that this is our strongest line up as of yet and new and old songs are coming along great." Kylesa is currently writing material for the follow-up to the band's Prosthetic debut, "To Walk A Middle Course."
