Metal Blade Records has issued the following announcement about signing Swedish metal band As You Drown:
"Metal Blade Records is proud to announce the signing of AS YOU DROWN from Borås, Sweden!
"Delivering some of the most memorable, intense and catchy Death Metal to date, AS YOU DROWN was born to combine the speed and brutality of the modern Death Metal scene with the atmosphere and catchy songwriting of its old-school predecessor. Adding a number of outside influences, the result is an always raging - yet always changing, storm of anger, brutality and finesse. Their debut album will surely appeal to fans of such artists as Decapitated, Cannibal Corpse, Behemoth or Job For A Cowboy, but should also be able to catch the attention of almost any fan of brutal, creative and honest Metal – ranging from those who enjoy the surgical precision of Meshuggah to those who get their fill from blasting death legends like Morbid Angel.
"The band comments the signing as follows: “We are proud to announce that we have signed a deal with Metal Blade Records, who will be releasing our debut album this summer! It's an honour for us to join a roster that includes many of our favourite bands, and we intend to make the most of this. When the album is released we will be looking to take this chaos machinery of ours out on the road, so look out for AS YOU DROWN in the near future!”
"AS YOU DROWN was formed in Borås, Sweden in the winter of 2003/2004 under the name of ETHEREAL when the average age of the band was only 17 years. The future belongs to AS YOU DROWN!"

"OMNICIDE - CREATION UNLEASHED will be released on May 22nd. There will be an exclusive record release show including many specials at the SPUTNIKHALLE in Münster on May 29th. Joining us in the carnage will be our friends of DEADLOCK, END OF DAYS and VERSUS THE THRONE ( ex-BLOOD SPENCER ).

We'll be touring out to Seattle and back for the recording in June and July, premiering this new music (and also playing old material).
"We have also just completed the recording/mixing of the brand new, maudlin of the Well fan-funded reunion record (to be released for FREE online within the next couple weeks)! "We" meaning almost all the old members of MOTW (Toby Driver, Terran Olson, Sam Gutterman, Greg Massi, Josh Seipp-Williams, Jason Byron) along with Kayo Dot members Mia Matsumiya and David Bodie! The video for "If I Were King," the first single from Queensrÿche's highly anticipated new album "American Soldier," made its worldwide debut today on Military.com. The military community site, 10 million members strong, will also feature a podcast interview with lead singer Geoff Tate as well as an op-ed column that he wrote exclusively for the site.
The video for "If I Were King" was directed by J. Andrew Colletti and Jonathan Williams and addresses the same themes of loss and healing that are the focus of the track. The song was written based on an interview Tate conducted with Sean Lenahan, a veteran of U.S conflicts in Somalia and Kosovo.
"Military.com is the perfect place to premiere the 'If I Were King' video and we are proud to be involved with the site," says Tate. "I hope their members can find a connection to the song and video. The whole album is a tribute to the soldiers, told in their own words, sometimes using their own voices, and I hope it will spark discussion within this community."
"American Soldier" features a dozen songs inspired by numerous interviews with veterans conducted by Tate, who was intent on telling their story using their words. After speaking with soldiers who served in various conflicts - from World War II to Iraq - Tate turned their firsthand experiences from the frontlines into an unflinching musical examination of war from the soldier's perspective.
