"March 4th- Another great day with no real issues to speak of. Three more songs in the bag! We were crushing through it by then! Once we finished that night, Girardo from Nuclear Blast came out to meet us. We just talked about metal for about 4 hours. Seriously felt like I've known him for Eons. It was very cool and I felt like we made a great decision! We also watched the documentary part of the Exodus DVD. That was great! Fucking A if Gary and Tom are not on Fire! The whole band is, but those two are my role models for this genre! Get 'em fuckers!!! It's funny, Girardo was there all that time, and we didn't play him a thing. Dicks!
"March 5th- This was the day we slayed the last two songs. The first one is the fastest Forbidden song I've ever played. Thought my arm was gonna go on strike! And I had the easy part, Mark was over the top, really great stuff in this one. I have not named any songs for you so far, but I will tell you this one is called Forsaken at the Gates. It was the last tune we wrote before we came down South. A burner for sure! Brings back my March into Fire memories of how we used to do things, but much better. One last song in which Tim had Mark experiment with his snare turning it off and on all over the song. Sounded awesome! We were done with the normal songs, I will elaborate on that in a moment. Naera has issued the following update about tickets being sold for Turkish shows that are not happening:
"To our Turkish supporters! To our discontent, we must inform you that we have just learned that apparently there has been advertising by Level5 Group for two Neaera concerts in Ankara and Istanbul. Tickets for these shows have also been sold.
"Some of you may recall that we had already agreed to come to Turkey for one show in January. Unfortunately, we were forced to cancel the show back then for the same reasons that have made it impossible for us to travel to Turkey this time, namely that after confirmation of the concert dates by our booking agency, there has been little to no communication by Level5 Group. No information, no flight confirmation, no nothing.
"All we can do at this point is to clearly disassociate ourselves from the unprofessional and uncommunicative behavior shown by Level5 Group. We hope that you people who payed for the concert tickets will get your money back. We are truly disappointed and angry about how the situation turned out. We were really happy and looking forward to playing in Turkey and party with our supporters there, and we still hope to be able to do so at some point in the future."

New York based ambient black metal act Wrath of the Weak has issued the following statement about writing new material for a third album:
"Returning to life ... so after three years of laziness and aborted attempts at album #3, I'm back in the saddle and assembling new music. Normally I wouldn't post premature updates like this, but I figure if I tell enough people that I'm working on new music then it'll come true. I only have about 20-30 minutes of material that's instantly usable at the moment, but it's shaping up to be a slightly different trip than 'Alogon' was. Without spoiling anything, I can say it'll be notably mellower and maybe even a bit warmer? Black metal for a summer sunset, I suppose."

Loads of hard work went into getting this thing going in the first place. And all went well to the point when we should have gotten just a approval stamp on the papers.
"So… There’s no time to apply for another working visas and we have to cancel the whole fucking tour. Sorry to disappoint you guys. Hope this thing works out next time and see you then!"
Ron Kralik, bassist of Virginia metal band Division, has issued the following message regarding his departure from the band:
"Six Years... It was six long years and one month ago when I was surprised by an email from Matt Crooks asking if I would consider filling in for Division for several shows that they had booked in the spring as their long-time bass player Dan Plunkett had to withdraw due to carpal tunnel syndrome. This in spite of (or because of) the awesome album Trinity only being released a few short months prior. I had been a fan of Division from when I first saw them at Scott Stewart's departure show. I immediately jumped at the chance and even came with five songs to the audition instead of the asked for three. The two shows that I was filling in for went well enough and they asked me to join full-time. It's been an eventful six years. We've poured ourselves, our sweat and even our blood into this band. We've played some awesome shows and had some great trips that I will never forget. It's been a pleasure making Control Issues for you, and now with some sick kind of symmetry, I will be departing myself just one month after the album's release. This has not been an easy choice or an easy process, but I am moving to Austin, TX with a new job to once again live with my wife, who has been there since last August for grad school. I don't know if we will be returning to the DC area or not, or even if we will remain in Austin after she graduates, but nine-months is already to long to be away from the one you love. I will miss Division (the band) and the guys (Mike, Dave, James, & Nick) greatly. The band has been my family here, particularly so since my wife moved. I want to also thank my other Washington area metal brothers in Hatred, Iris Divine, and Cab Ride Home, as well as the rest of the band wives and our fans for doing there best to help this are still feel like home. I will always be grateful for your friendship and the music and memories we've made together." More...

In a recent interview with MetalAssault.com, Soulfly guitarist Marc Rizzo discussed the bands forthcoming seventh studio album, "Omen" and how writing the record was different from previous albums. An excerpt from the interview reads as follows:
Julia: (New Soulfly album) Omen is scheduled for release on May 25th. What really stands out about this album for you?
Marc: "It's right to the point. There's a real hardcore, punk vibe to the record. Short tunes. This record is kind of different for us and I think the fans are going to like it a lot."
Julia: When you were writing the album did you have it in mind that you wanted short songs, or was that more of an unplanned thing? Did you go into it with specific musical goals in mind?
Marc: "I think Max's goal was to put out a record that seemed a little more to-the-point, a real thrash metal or hardcore vibe. I know he definitely wanted to go in that direction when we started making the record, so I guess in the end it turned out to be like that."
