Ever since ICS Vortex (Simen Hestnaes) parted ways with Dimmu Borgir the buzz in the air was of an Arcturus reunion. When it was finally made a reality, the only thing left for fans to do was to patiently wait for the band to land in their town. For Helsinki that chance came last Saturday! The show had been reported as sold out well before the actual date, and 900 lucky people were able to witness the reunion tour from the vantage point of one of Helsinki’s most renowned venues, and my personal favorite place to shoot: Nosturi. Check out the shots here! More...
It's Tuesday again, and that means we have more mosh pit stories to share, which we collect from fans and bands across the world. For this week's story, Hopes Die Last vocalist Daniele Tofani shares the following story of an out-of-control crowd that just couldn't get enough and wasn't going to let the venue stop them from seeing a show:
There are really shitloads of stories about our concerts that are worth telling, but the first one that comes to my mind is the one happened in Poland during our last tour. That night we played in a club in Szczecin. It was a small place, but there was a good amount of people, not a lot, but it seemed promising.
After a massive booze-up it was finally our turn to get on stage. As soon as the music started, people completely freaked out and a disproportionate-size moshover was right there before my eyes. I was kind of astonished throughout the whole live set. It wasn’t just mosh, it was true violence!
The funny part was that people were even pogoing like crazy - pushing and shoving and falling on their asses - during the slow and ambient-like songs! The club was lacking in security (obviously nobody could imagine such a worrying situation) so the two old owners tried to supply that by doing what they could, but they hardly had control of the situation, and in the end the club was completely destroyed.
On the deafening-cry “One more song!” the sound guy turned off the whole soundboard and microphones, trying to persuade people to leave the club, but I clearly remember someone from the crowd jumping on the console and turning everything back on. So while the technicians and the owners were cursing and lost in the anarchist behavior, we played our last song.
We were all speechless. Fuck, something completely out of the ordinary! Those people were crazy motherfuckers, it was amazing! I won’t ever forget that night.
Hopes Die Last recently released a music video for "Keep Your Hands Off," which can be seen here. "Keep Your Hands Off" is taken from the band's "Trust No One" album.
Check back in next Tuesday as we continue to share more of best pit stories from metal bands.

Poland's Centurion recently held a release party for the new LP "Serve No One." Performance footage has now been posted online from the show. Check out the clips of "Ego Ultimus" and "No One To Serve" below. A photo gallery from the event is also available here.
Guitarist AD Gore commented, "Recently I’ve been having some doubts regarding the potential of an audience on the underground concerts, but the hell that had happened under the stage on our release party was a crushing adrenaline shoot. It was good to see a large group of devoted maniacs, that know our songs, despite the fact that the CD has been available since three days before. It was fucking amok, and we got in infected with this madness as well. Hope that there will be more such gigs in the near future."
Vocalist Caesar added, "I’m positively surprised with the audience on the show. The commitment of maniacs was extreme under the stage. The concert was a success, good attendance and support bands shows, makes that release party was great. Big thanks to Belzebong, Cryptic Rites and Soul Snatcher, who have substituted Supreme Lord in last moment, because they cannot play this evening. Party after the show was a great too. I think, that anybody who was there can’t be disappointed and I regret only one thing, that I couldn’t have drink with everybody who suggest me drinking! See you on the next show!"

Los Angeles based instrumental progressive metal trio Polarization has signed with Mediaskare Records. The brainchild of guitarist and songwriter Prashant Mathias, Polarization came together a year and a half ago when Mathias moved from his native India to attend Musicians' Institute in Los Angeles.
"It's a big step for the band and for me personally," he states. "I came here two years ago as a scholarship student for MI. I've already achieved the first of many goals by signing a record deal with a label I respect - especially bands like Volumes and Exotic Animal Petting Zoo."
Polarization's line-up is rounded out by drummer and fellow MI student Tom Asvold, a Swedish transplant, as well as bassist Steve Hilson. To date, Polarization has shared stages with Animals As Leaders, Fair To Midland and Prong amongst others. The group will play next on Thursday, March 22nd alongside Prong, Black Tusk, It's Casual and Early Man.
Polarization's Mediaskare debut, "Chasing The Light" will be out in late Spring. For more on the band, head over to the Polarization Facebook profile.
Meshuggah has teamed up with Scion A/V to give fans a stream and free download of the opening track "I Am Colossus" from the upcoming "Koloss" album, due out March 27th, 2012. The track can be downloaded here or through the player below.
Tomas Haake comments on the track, "'I Am Colossus’ is way more straightforward than the thrash metal we grew up with. At the same time, it does pose its own difficulties for us as players. It will probably be one of the first songs we attempt to play on tour. The solo - which is basically two long notes that are slow bends - just turned out beautiful. Such an understatement as a guitar solo. Sometimes a slow song is just as aggressive as a fast one."

Today Demon Hunter is pleased to be unveiling the official video for "My Destiny," filmed by director Robby Starbuck, whose credits range from Otep and August Burns Red to Smashing Pumpkins and Snoop Dog. "My Destiny" is off the new album "True Defiance," due out April 10th, 2012.
"The storyline follows five teenagers as they try to make the most of their dull suburb community – skateboarding, hanging with friends, stirring up trouble, discovering music together. This was how a lot of us in the band grew up," explains frontman Ryan Clark. "For the performance footage, we wanted to do something that hinted at the 'early days' of being in a band – rehearsing in a tiny, grungy practice space, inspirational posters on the wall, fluorescent lights overhead, minimal space, and lots of sweat."
"'My Destiny' is about growing up and finding music that ultimately changes you," Clark adds. "It's about that definitive moment that I knew music would become an immeasurable part of my life." More...

This isn't a revelation, but I wanted to show the whole picture, and that it's nothing to be ashamed of. We work, we jam, we hang out, we have fun together, and the payoff is we get to play amazing shows in front of amazing fans and engage with them on a very personal level.”
Corey Pierce, drummer goes on to say, “The fact that we are normal guys who do what we need to do in order to go out, play shows and make music, is literally 'Where We Come From.'” The video was directed by Eric Richter in 3 different states within 48 hours documenting the everyday life of God Forbid.
