In a recent video interview with Artisan News Service, Slayer frontman Tom Araya spoke a little about the bands forthcoming new studio album which will be released later this year. Araya states: "This new album is coming together really well. We've been in the studio now for four weeks. I think four or five weeks and it's coming across together, you know it has all the Slayer elements. I don't want to compare it to but it has very Christ Illusion type songs. You know it's in that vein but there's also fast songs, l mean 'Psychopathy Red' that right there should give you an example of the broad spectrum of Slayer music is going to be on this album."

The organizers of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame has revealed the list of names who will be inducting the legends being entered this year. The biggest news for metal fans is that Flea, bass player of rock band Red Hot Chilli Peppers will be presenting Metallica with their achievement at the ceremony. Los Angeles, Californa based hard rock group Ratt has announced that they have signed a brand new record deal with Loud & Proud/Roadrunner Records to release their new studio album later this year. WHITE WIZZARD, LA's high-energy, NWOBHM-influenced metallers who could be described as a cross between DIAMOND HEAD and VAN HALEN, have signed a worldwide, multi-album deal with Earache Records.
WHITE WIZZARD formed in 2007 and shortly afterwards recorded their "High Speed GTO" demo, which only made it into the hands of a few select fans. Following a brief period of inactivity, the demo fell into the hands of Earache Records and the "High Speed GTO" song was included on "Heavy Metal Killers," a compilation featuring 13 tracks from the best new traditional-sounding heavy metal bands. The band has since regrouped around band leader JON LEON with a new line-up. Earache is set to release the "High Speed GTO" tracks as a mini-album this Summer, with the band working towards a full album due later in the year.
WHITE WIZZARD's 2009 debut is driven by catchy riffs that aim straight for the hips and the heart. The band is lighter than the norm - there's a nimbleness to the WHITE WIZZARD attack and genuine commercial hooks race through all seven songs on the "High Speed GTO" mini-album.
Bassist and main-man JON LEON comments on the band's signing:
"Earache is an important label in the history of metal music and has always been visionary. I think there is no metal fan out there that does not know Earache as being one of the most recognizable and important labels in the genre. Though my band harkens back to the older singer/songwriter melodic metal, Earache is expanding and growing and I am sure the same success will be had with many more of the new and up-and-coming bands."

27 March 2009 - Hollywood, CA - Relax Bar

Country rock star Shooter Jennings has revealed in a recent interview with Classic Rock magazine that he was offered the job as vocalist for Velvet Revolver and not just once. Speaking on the offer he said:
"They’ve asked me twice, dude. I've done a couple of shows with those guys, and they asked me a couple of years ago and they asked me again last year to be the singer. And it pained my heart not to say yes, because those guys are the best players in the world. They’re literally one of the best bands I’ve ever heard and to be able to sing with them has been amazing. But I had a talk with them about it, and I would absolutely still, to this day, get in a room and jam with them, but first of all, I knew I was gonna be doing another record and that what I wanted to do was really special to me, and I didn’t feel I could stifle that."
