"We can also reveal that Pablo Magallanes will join us as a second guitarist on the upcoming tour through Europe. The addition of a second axe-man for live situations brings us to new heights and we can deliver the tracks - both new and old - with more power and might. In fire and flames!"

The official Vader MySpace page has been updated with the following message about the band supporting Slayer and Megadeth at an upcoming live show:
"Massive Music and Live Nation are glad to inform that during the Polish concert within 'European Carnage Tour 2011' Slayer and Megadeth will be supported by...Vader! The show will be held on April 11 in Atlas Arena in Lodz. After the outstanding success of Slayer and Megadeth on Sonisphere Festival 2010 in Warsaw they decided to go on a tour together!
"Slayer and Megadeth smashed the Warsaw audience in 2010 giving the show for over 80,000 people. Their fans left the concert with a hunger for more. So what is the best news for them? Slayer and Megadeth will play together in April in Atlas Arena (Lodz)!
"We will be represented by our native Vader. Get a move on and buy the tickets - they're going to go like hot cakes! Tickets at the cost of 154, 176 and 209 PLN available on LiveNation.pl and in shops."

Vocalist Oscar Carlquist of Ram has issued the following announcement about the band's upcoming album:
"The yet untitled new RAM album has been mastered by Dragan Tanaskovich at Bohus Recordings and is ready for release. RAM are currently in negotiations with a number of record companies concerning the release of the new album.
"Again we are pushing the envelope of the RAM sound, this album differs quite a bit from our 2009 release 'Lightbringer,' the sound is rawer and has a strong nerve and honest live like feel but still it is extremely powerful it was produced by me and Harry Granroth (guitars) and Per Stålberg and Olle Björk and recorded at Welfare Studios here in Gothenburg, Dragan Tanaskovich is also a huge part of this by contributing massive power in the mastering process.
"Songwise we are showing new sides of the band, the album is a 10 song sonic roller coaster displaying an array of different styles, emotions tempos and agressions but all within the concept of traditional Heavy Metal of course. In all honesty I can't choose one single song that is representative of the sound of the album as a whole. We are really pleased with this album that feels like a really cool direction to take from Lightbringer and we can't wait to blast these new song live!"
After just over a year in existence, the new hard rock act Arms of the Sun is finally preparing to release a debut album on March 29th. The group features names from across the musical spectrum, including front man Lance Harvill, Ben Bunker on guitar, and John Hebert on drums. Although he is no longer with the band, Rex Brown of Down and Pantera fame also contributed the bass recordings for the album.
Just prior to splitting with Rex Brown last month, the band's vocalist answered several questions about Arms of the Sun for Metalunderground. In the interview, Lance discusses writing music with Dimebag Darrell when he was younger, where the band's name came from, and his classic rock influences.
You can listen to Lance answer the questions in the audio player below, or read a transcription of the interview after the jump.
Gross Misconduct has issued the following announcement about parting ways with bassist Ryan Shepard and recruiting new member Brent MacKenzie:
"Alright, so there’s a new guy in our band now. His name is Brent MacKenzie. You may remember him from such musical endeavours as Menz, Devived and Soulscar.
"As for Ryan, there’s no drama, ill will or anything of that nature behind our decision. We slayed many dragons with him, but the time has come to part ways. We wish him the best of luck.
"As for our decision to go with Brent, the choice was pretty simple. Extensive market research and public opinion polls suggested that we needed a married guy with glasses and short hair in our band to even out the long hair to short hair ratio. He’s also good at music and stuff. Come see Brent and his glasses at our show on March 11 at Funky Winkerbeans in Vancouver."
Metallica has issued the following announcement about an upcoming "Big Four" show in Gothenburg, Sweden:
"One more show... The final announcement in our recent series of European adventures finds us in Gothenburg, Sweden on July 3, 2011. Of course Anthrax, Megadeth and Slayer will all be there for our first Big 4 show in Scandinavia!
"Tickets go on sale Monday, March 7 at 9:00 AM local time. Met Club members should check here for more details about a special pre-sale this week. That’s it with announcements . . . for now!"

After returning to the band in 2007 following high demand from fans, singer Matt Barlow has announced that he will be leaving Iced Earth after their summer tour, citing family committment and the toll of touring as a result. An emotional message from Barlow reads as follows:
"Let me begin by saying how much of an honor it has been to share my time in Iced Earth with Jon and the guys…and with all of you! Since my return to the band in 2007, it has truly been extraordinary. I have had the opportunity to travel the world and see old friends and meet new ones. Though we had originally thought that the Iced Earth touring schedule would be very limited, we were able to play our fair share of concerts.
"During that time we were also able to have a live DVD produced (the forthcoming Festivals of the Wicked). However, due to the rapidly changing music industry, it has become increasingly clear to recording artists that the only way to keep a band viable and to truly reach its potential is through live performances. That means that a band must reach out to new regions of the globe and become pioneers for their own livelihood. Since 2007, Jon and I have always had the best intentions for the future of Iced Earth, and we still do. However, given the band’s projected touring schedule, Iced Earth’s future and mine must now take separate paths.
"On my departure from Iced Earth in 2003, I made a commitment to my wife and to the idea that we would start, and raise, our family together. Two years later, my first child was born and two years after that, my second. My youngest son was born about a week before Jon asked me to return to Iced Earth. It was a very exciting and emotional time for all of us, but we were all clear on our intentions. It is apparent to us now that regardless of our belief at that time, time can change an intended outcome. In this instance, I hope that change will not be regarded as a bad thing, but rather as a necessary part of evolution. More...

As Blood Runs Black will release a new full-length album titled "Instinct" on March 15th through Mediaskare. The band has teamed up with Hails and Horns Magazine to exclusively debut a new track, “Divided.” You can check out the song at this location.
Nick (bass) states: "The reason we chose to debut 'Divided' in advance is because of its diversity and dynamics. We managed to take this song from one extreme to another - combining technicality with thrash and groove, while at the same time keeping it heavy. It showcases our maturity as musicians and the things we've gone through as individuals. When Lech (drums) brought this song to the table it was half empty, but we all saw the potential in it to be a stand out track on the record. It wasn't until the night before recording this song when it all finally came together. Lyrically, this song is about the internal struggles one encounters in life, and how vital the integrity of your mind is to the outcome of your decisions.
“We are currently playing this song live now on the 'Atticus Metal Tour' because of its raw energy, infectious groove and aggression. It feels great to be back out on the road, it's like our second home. With Instinct finally done we can now project our energy towards playing shows and touring the world. Be sure to catch us on tour, and don't be afraid to come hangout and introduce yourself. See you on the road!"

Metalinjection.net has posted a new music video online from U.K. thrash act Onslaught. The title track to the band's new studio album, the video for "Sounds Of Violence" is Onslaught's first official video in twenty years, the last being from the band's 1990 full-length "In Search Of Sanity."
"The Sound Of Violence," stated Onslaught vocalist Sy Keeler "was inspired by the horrendous loss of over 150,000,000 souls throughout the 20th Century, instigated by religious tyranny and dictatorial madness of humankind. The lyrics echo the horrific realities of war and remarkable resistance endured by our fellow men and women which continues to this day. Wake up world; welcome to a land of devastating brutality where conflict is a part of everyday life. This is the Sound Of Violence."
The video was filmed and edited By Lukas Hambach of Bloodwork Entertainment (Destruction, Gamma Ray) and produced by Tommy Morriello and Thosten Lütje.
The "making-of" clip from the recording of the video can also be found at this location.

The upcoming Vomitory album "Opus Mortis VIII" was produced, engineered, and mixed by Rikard Löfgren in his own Leon music studios. The album is set for release on April 23rd/26th, 2011 through Metal Blade Records.
Comments Vomitory drummer Tobias Gustafsson: "Opus Mortis VIII is our eighth album (no shit!) - our eighth opus of death. And I dare to say that this is one of the strongest albums we've done, and it most certainly has the most powerful production we've ever had on any album, hands down. For the third time, we worked with Rikard Löfgren in his Leon Music Studios. We raised the bar quite a few notches in the studio - both production-wise and performance-wise, and we couldn't be happier with the result. We are not breaking new death metal ground with this album - that was never Vomitorys' mission - but Opus Mortis VIII offers diversity and dynamics that you haven't quite heard from Vomitory before. Still, this is a very intense and aggressive album in the true Vomitory tradition - all the essential signature details are there. Once you hear the opening track, 'Regorge In The Morgue,' you will need no further proof of that!"
The track listing is as follows:
1. Regorge In The Morgue
3. They Will Burn
4. The Dead Awaken
5. Hate In A Time Of War
6. Torturous Ingenious
7. Forever Damned
8. Shrouded In Darkness
9. Combat Psychosis
10. Requiem For The Fallen
11. Nervegasclouds 2011
12. Raped In Their Own Blood 2011
13. Redemption 2011
14. The Voyage 2011 More...

Evile drummer Ben Carter comments: "Evile are both honoured and excited to be making our first appearance at Download this year! Donington has been the spiritual home of rock and metal for so many years, now finally we can make our mark there and become part of that legacy. I've attended Download in the past, and seen many bands perform on the smaller stages and go on to huge success, and I think that's what Download can do for a band. There's something about the place that's special, so we're all so eager to get on stage and have our Download moment! BRING IT ON!"

British based power metal outfit Dragonforce has announced that the band has finally found itself a new lead vocalist, who comes in the form of 23 year old Marc Hudson. Hudson will be taking over the role from former vocalist ZP Theart, who left the band in March of last year.
"I'm really excited about being a part of the DragonForce family." Says Marc. "It's always been my dream to dedicate my life to making music. I'm going to bring all the power and emotion I can to the songs, and help make the killer new record the fans have been waiting for!"
Born in Oxford England, Hudson was picked from the thousands of applications via a number of video auditions and live performances, which left the rest of the band in no doubt that they’d found their man. Since the age of 16, Hudson has been building his vocal skills, gigging with bands in the UK underground scene, developing a powerful style with influences which include Bruce Dickinson, Michael Kiske and Sebastian Bach.
Guitarist Herman Li added: "After almost a year of searching around the globe, it's great to be able to finally tell our fans the good news. Marc's expressive and melodic vocals are sounding phenomenal on the new songs, adding another dimension to the DragonForce sound that I am sure all the fans will love."
The band has been working on a new album since early 2010, recording in various studios in California, London and the South of France.
"Everyone in the band is extremely excited about how the new material is shaping up.” continues Herman. “We haven't felt this kind of energy in the band for a long time. We can't wait to unleash the next DragonForce album later this year."
