Polish black/death metallers Devilish Impressions are headlining the "Fear No Gods Of The East Tour 2013," which will roll over the Baltic States (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia plus Kaliningrad), Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine. The band has now checked in with the following road report:
"Hell(o) there! The war is on, tanks sent on the road! So far the gig in Kaliningrad was the tour’s highlight with extremely warm welcome of both fans and the show’s promoters. On the other hand, yesterday in Alytus we’ve played the smallest show ever. Luckily enough there were Kopernik, Krzychu and Artyom – our road crew - who filled in the audience’s gap the way it felt we did something truly special despite the circumstances. Thank you very much bros! And massive hails to each and every single one of you who showed up to support Devilish Impressions!"
The latest Devilish Impressions CD, “Simulacra,” was released in July 2012 via Lifeforce Records. Upcoming live shows include: More...

Bassist Karen Cuda of Nashville Pussy has posted the following message online about parting ways with the band:
"Today feels a bit surreal as I officially announce my resignation from Nashville Pussy. Over the last eight years I've invested much blood, sweat, and tears in to the band.
"It's been an extraordinarily difficult decision for me to make, but I feel it's time for me to move on and explore the next chapter of rock n roll and my life. I am sincerely and wholeheartedly grateful for the experiences, the stages, the amazing albums we've made, the globetrotting, the laughter, the tears, the parties, and most of all, the fans, that I've had the pleasure of sharing with Nashville Pussy.
"Thanks to all for the amazing opportunity! I will forever cherish it. Rest assured I will continue rocking, so keep your ears peeled! Best of luck to Nashville Pussy as they also move on into their next chapter.

Curse of the Forgotten has inked a deal with WormHoleDeath to release the "Building the Palace" album worldwide through Aural Music Group/Wormholedeath Japan.
The album was produced, recorded, and mixed at Realsound Studio (Italy) by Wahoomi Corvi andthen mastered by Christian Donaldson (The Agonist/Cryptopsy/Beneath The Massacre) in Montreal. The release is due during 2013, on a specific date still to be scheduled. A teaser trailer for the album is available below. WormHoleDeath also comments:
"We are extremely honored to announce the long awaited signing from dutch melodic death metal band Curse Of The Forgotten. Curse of the forgotten are a very young and talented band from one of my favourite countries: Holland. Usually we don’t sign bands formed by young guys here at Wormholedeath, and they know it, but in this case we had to make an exception since those guys are professional and serious. We have been working hard with them and Realsound to help to realize their ideas. The album came out just amazing and we are also happy with the visual concept of the band as well. From now on we will be working to convince the skeptical music business that Curse Of The Forgotten are true and not just another drop of water in the ocean. Yes, we will be building the palace slowly but relentlessly...
The band also states: “We are honored and very fortunate to say that we have signed with the record label WormHoleDeath. It is great that they are just as enthusiastic as we are to make this a good partnership. Our new album Building the Palace is in good hands. Working with WormHoleDeath in Realsound studio proved that they really understand our music, that was very important for us.” More...

Baltimore-based A389 Recordings is prepared to proudly unleash the debut LP from a promising new names in the thrash metal community, having signed Noisem.
A389 had announced the signing of the band earlier this month, under the previous moniker of Necropsy. With a debut album about to hit, the band felt it was time for a change and now charge out of the gate as Noisem. The label also comments:
"Noisem is young, both as a unit and in actual age, the four members all between fifteen and twenty years old, their energetic youth showing through in the blistering fast nonstop assault that encompasses the listener with their debut LP, Agony Defined. Boasting high-octane death/thrash tracks in the tradition of early Slayer, Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, Kreator and Nuclear Assault with a filthy and crispy delivery, Agony Defined unloads nine neck-mangling tracks in under twenty-six minutes, every attack surging with massive divebomb guitar solos and punishing beats. A389 will release Agony Defined on CD, LP and digital download on June 11th; fans of Audiopain, Havok, Toxic Holocaust and the originators/masters of the style will not be disappointed, and all nonbelievers will be extinguished.
"Coinciding with the album’s release, Noisem has been confirmed to annihilate the masses of extreme music fans invading their turf for Maryland Deathfest 2013, set to storm the stage opening night, Thursday, May 23rd alongside Abigail, Bolt Thrower, Cobalt and more. Pulverised Records has issued the following statement about the "Grip of the Dead" album from Necrocurse, which is being release in North America today:
"Swedish death metallers Necrocurse have truly invoked pure evil with the much anticipated debut full-length 'Grip Of The Dead!'
"With members from Nifelheim, Swordmaster, Runemagick, Sacramentum, etc and set in a traditional ancient Heavy Metal spirit, "Grip Of The Dead" is a convocation of ominous Deathchaos and Blackened Thrash destruction. Together with a slab of anthemic devil-horn theatrical antics, the end result is a perfect assimilation of the legitimate Necrocurse sound-stamp!
"Recorded, mixed and mastered at Sonic Train Studios with legendary King Diamond guitar maestro Andy La Rocque (King Diamond, Melechesh, Hammerfall, etc) and the stunningly nefarious artwork cover by David Herrerias (Antichrist (Swe)), the Morbid Maniacs have returned and it is going to be unpleasant." Following the 2011 album "As The Valley Of Death Becomes Us, Our Silver Memories Fade" and a rapturous response to 2012 shows, A Storm of Light will return this year with a brand new record via Southern Lord Recordings. The following press release was issued about the upcoming new offering:
"A Storm of Light's third album 'As The Valley Of Death Becomes Us, Our Silver Memories Fade' was the band's heaviest and most dynamic release to date bringing together the colossal energies and forces of the group, not to mention an assemblage of prestigious guests.
"Their latest offering, entitled 'Nations to Flames,' was recorded with Travis Kammeyer (Fahrenheit Studios), mixed with Matt Bayles (Red Room) and is currently being mastered and readied for our listening pleasure later this year."
The band, wishing to give little away, states that musically the labum is "faster, much darker and noisier” adding that…"on this record, we have finally found ourselves."
Further information, including track listing, artwork and audio, will be revealed in due course.
As the new album from Taiwanese extreme metal band, Chthonic, undergoes mixing at Sweet Spot studio in Sweden, the work on the album's cover has also begun in Taiwan.
After nearly 100 hopeful candidates replied to a casting call, which called for girls who were "at least 160cm tall, skinny, with light skin, and are ok with full-body painting," Chthonic bassist Doris Yeh and the art design team decided on Bu to represent the album's cover girl.
"It's certainly not an easy job for ancient Chinese emperors to choose their wives," said Yeh jokingly after several sleepless nights of deliberation. "I was even looking through the pictures in my dreams!"
With a concept in mind to have an elder, a girl, and a child as the cover picture, and visualize the idea of armed body and mind through special makeup and computer graphics, the search began for candidates to represent the theme. Embodiments for the roles of the elder and the child were quickly decided. Hsu Ching-fu, a clergyman from the Gikong Presbyterian Church, and A-Chi, son of a well-known tattooist Ah-J, were picked to represent these figures.
The shooting of the album cover photo was completed late last month. The new album, the band's seventh overall, is slotted to be released in Europe, North America, and Asia in June on Spinefarm/Universal Music.
In the meantime, the band has been hard at work promoting its new mobile app game, the first of its kind to use exclusively heavy metal music, "Chthonic - Rhythm Crusher." More...
