Ferret Music's Californian based death-core outfit ELYSIA has announced that they will be co-headlining a March/April tour with THE WARRIORS, with support from THE GHOST INSIDE and STRAY FROM THE PATH.
A tour with The Warriors is fitting given the origin of Elysia’s name, which in Roman mythology means the final resting place for soldiers.
The band is ready to get on the road, especially on this tour, tells vocals Zak Vargas, “We have heard from a ton of bands and friends that they think we’d all be really compatible. We really like The Warriors and Stray From the Path, and have toured with The Ghost Inside before and had a great time.” More...

Philadelphia hardcore/metal band TURMOIL will release its new album, "The International Language of..." on June 24 via Eulogy Recordings. Tracking for the band's first LP since 1999's "The Process Of" took place at Skylight Studios in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, with Vince Ratti (THE MINOR TIMES, A LIFE ONCE LOST) engineering. The effort will likely consist of roughly twelve tracks clocking in at over 40 minutes of music.
TURMOIL guitarist Jeff Hydro recently penned a blog for the HardTimes.ca web site where he stated about the album's title, "'Go Fuck Yourself' is what we really wanted to call the new record, but we figured that it's going to be hard enough for Eulogy to get it into the stores it should be in, so we decided to lighten it up a bit, in our own way. So, the new record is gonna be called 'The International Language of 'Get Fucked', and in keeping with the title of the last full-length CD (i.e. 'The Process Of...'), this one will probably have 'The International Language Of....' on the outside of the CD and on the spine, and on the inside it'll have '...'Get Fucked'." Brazilians thrashers CHAOSFEAR have entered the studio to record their new album, entitled "Images of Disorder". The follow-up to "One Step Behind Anger" "will include 10 new songs and will be recorded with our original lineup," according to drummer Danilo Freitas.
For more pictures of the recording sessions, go to www.chaosfear.com.
"Images of Disorder" is scheduled for release in the fall/winter through Old School Metal Records.
CHAOSFEAR was recently rejoined by original guitarist Edu Boccomino.
After quitting SCARS, Boccomino was interested in joining up with his brother Fernando once again. "Everything happened so naturally because we have been friends for such a long time," CHAOSFEAR previously said in a statement. "We just had a quick talk and started playing again. The band is very excited to have the original lineup back together."

Tenth Street Entertainment — which represents MÖTLEY CRÜE — has shot down as (at least partially) "blatantly false and completely unfounded" Internet rumors that CRÜE will headline a festival-type tour called "Cruefest", with support from several other artists from the Tenth Street management stable, including BUCKCHERRY, PAPA ROACH, SIXX: A.M. and DROWNING POOL. According to Tenth Street, CRÜE's April 15 press conference/announcement in Los Angeles will relate to "a few" (but presumably not all) of the following artists:

Details can be found at the official CRÜE site.

SEVENDUST will release its new album, "Chapter VII: Hope & Sorrow", on April 1. The first single is called "Prodigal Son", while the disc features guest appearances from Chris Daughtry and members of ALTER BRIDGE.
According to Eric Tucker from the Associated Press, the band manager whose pyrotechnics display sparked a nightclub fire that killed 100 people in 2003 walked out of prison Wednesday, free to return to his home state of Florida after serving less than half of his four-year sentence.
Daniel Biechele, 31, who tearfully apologized to victims' relatives before being sent to prison, kept quiet Wednesday as he left the state's minimum security prison. He got into his lawyer's car, ignoring questions from reporters across the street, and was driven away.
Biechele's lawyer, Thomas Briody, said in a statement that Biechele would not make any public statements "out of respect for those people most affected by the fire."
"He was a private citizen before this tragedy and he wishes to remain so," Briody said.
Briody has declined to discuss Biechele's future plans, but officials in Florida have confirmed that he would serve his parole there.
Biechele, the former tour manager for the 1980s rock group GREAT WHITE, pleaded guilty in 2006 to 100 counts of involuntary manslaughter, admitting he did not have the required permit when he set off flashy pyrotechnics inside The Station nightclub in West Warwick on Feb. 20, 2003.
Co-owner of The Station nightclub, Michael Derderian, 46, went to prison in September 2006 was recently granted an early release from prison by the state parole board, but will not be freed until October 2009 after serving more than three years of his four-year sentence. Derderian became eligible for parole this month after completing one-third of his sentence, but faced an uphill battle to get released after discipline problems in prison and pleas to keep him behind bars.

Original JUDAS PRIEST singer Al Atkins will release his autobiography, titled "Dawn Of The Metal Gods: My Life In Judas Priest And Heavy Metal", before Christmas via Iron Pages.
Check out the book's front and back cover at this location.
Commented Atkins: "For some time now, I have wanted to write my own book about my amazing life in heavy metal. Finally that dream has come true; after befriending Neil Daniels — a freelance rock writer and heavy metal fan — during the writing of his book 'The Story Of Judas Priest: Defenders Of The Faith' (Omnibus Press), we have come up with some great ideas together. Of course there will be some great stories from my few years in PRIEST but also, loads of info on the Sixties music scene in Birmingham and the West Midlands. I knew bands like SLADE, TRAPEZE and THE BAND OF JOY. I saw CREAM live, befriended BUDGIE and supported ROD STEWART. Also, I was in a band called LION in the late '70s and we supported the SEX PISTOLS and THE STRANGLERS. I also have a solo career and have released five albums so far; my new CD is called 'Demon Deceiver'. It should make for an exciting read. There'll also be loads of photos from the early years of JUDAS PRIEST and pictures of ticket stubs, posters, memorabilia, etc."
The book's description reads as follows: "Al Atkins is the former lead singer and founder of the multi-million selling British metal band JUDAS PRIEST. But where and when did it all begin? More...

Swedish black metallers SHINING will enter the studio on April 28 to begin recording their new album, "Tillbaka På Ruta Ett" (Back to Square One), for a late 2008 release via Osmose Productions. The LP will contain six songs and will feature "six different vocalists," according to a press release.

SHINING filmed its controversial February 3, 2007 concert at Diezel in Halmstad, Sweden for an upcoming DVD, entitled "Fy Fan För Livet!" MÖTLEY CRÜE is rumored to be teaming up with several other acts from the Tenth Street Entertainment management stable — BUCKCHERRY, PAPA ROACH and DROWNING POOL — for a U.S. tour that will kick off in early July. Unconfirmed reports suggest that the trek will go out under the moniker Cruefest — which is not to be confused with the association that organizes concerts at various locations around the world throughout the year to raise money for the various CRÜE-affiliated charities (including Skylar Neil Memorial Fund, Nikki Sixx's Running Wild in the Night foundation, Tommy Lee's charity of choice St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Mick Mars' charity Spondylitis Association of America).
CRÜE will officially announce its touring plans on April 15 in Los Angeles, according to a press release. All four members of the group will be present at a location yet to be determined for what the release hyped as "by far...one of the biggest music announcements of the year!!" The band is also launching a contest in which one grand prize winner from each major city in the country will be flown to Los Angeles to cover the announcement, complete with a chance to interview the band and have the interview broadcast live. Details can be found at the official CRÜE site.
The band is currently working on its ninth studio album and first featuring all four original members since 1997's "Generation Swine". Bassist Nikki Sixx said in an online posting, "Tommy's (Lee, drums) kickin' ass, Vince (Neil, vocals) sounds insane and (Mick) Mars is shredding on guitars. It doesn't feel like one song is better or worse than any other. It feels so good to be excited about something you've worked on so hard...I'm so excited for you all to hear it."
The album, titled "The Dirt" after the group's memoir of the same name, is tentatively due out on July 8.
The following announcement has been released courtesy of Metal Sanaz and Tod Junker at Junker Designs:
"We are filming a DIMMU BORGIR video April 14th and 15th here in LA. We are looking for fans and fans to be with your own armor; any and all styles welcome. Please send a photo with you in your armor / costume to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Must be in the LA area or willing to travel. Food will be provided on set."

Rocker Redoes Anthem for Barack Obama
Jay Jay French wants to rock. He also wants Barack.
So the TWISTED SISTER guitarist has re-recorded the heavy metal band's anthem, 'I Wanna Rock', which has become 'I Want Barack'.
French, a lifelong liberal Democrat whose mother campaigned for John F. Kennedy, said Barack Obama, who is seeking the Democratic presidential nomination, has energized a new generation of voters who previously felt left out of politics.
"He has excited so many people," said French, who founded Twisted Sister in 1973, in a telephone interview Tuesday. "He has given sincere hope to people who have been out of the arena for years."
French plays guitar on the track, which features Paulie Z., singer for the band Z02, on vocals and lead guitar. They call the band Jay Jay French and Friends and stress this isn't a Twisted Sister project because that band's members are split on the presidential candidates.
The Obama camp had no immediate comment on the song.
French said an accompanying video will soon be released on YouTube, and hopes the song will someday be played at rallies for Obama, where Stevie Wonder's 'Signed, Sealed And Delivered' now reigns.
STEELHEART mainman Michael Matijevic has issued the following update:
"Dear friends, I am sad give out some bad news. My old friend and original drummer of SteelHeart (John Fowler) is in the hospital. He had a brain aneurysm and he is in a coma. After playing together in the same line-up for over 10 years, Dutch melodic thrashers DETONATION are now making their first ever lineup change.
The band has welcomed Danny Tunker (Fuelblooded, The Saturnine) to the ranks to handle guitars. This automatically means that co-founder Koen Romeijn (Guitar/Vocals) will lay down his guitar within DETONATION, and that he will be focusing on the vocals only from this point on. The upcoming shows in March and April, Koen will still be doing double duties, but from May on all shows will be done as a 5-piece.
