Ozzy Osbourne has donated a shirt he recently wore onstage to a charity auction being held by Bikers Against Drunk Drivers (BADD). If you want to bid for this, then go online to EBAY. Since when is a shirt a "costume"?
(hed)p.e., Slayer, Fear Factory and Nonpoint will have tracks featured on the upcoming compilation album ‘Crank It Up’, to be released by MCA in the summer, in conjuction with NASCAR. So far the confirmed tracks are: ‘Crosstown Traffic’ – (hed)p.e. (a cover of the Jimi Hendrix classic), ‘Highway Star’ – Slayer (the Deep Purple rocker), ‘Cars’ - Fear Factory, ‘Circles’ – Nonpoint, ‘On The Road Again’ – Buckcherry, ‘Fast Car’ – Darwin’s Waiting Room, ‘Get Out Of My Dreams (Get Into My Car)’ – Fenix TX, ‘Cross The Line’ – Tantric, ‘Drivin’ Rain’ – Government Mule and ‘Hot Rod Lincoln’ – Les Claypool. I'm surprised that Apocalyptica's track featured in the NASCAR TV commercials is not on that record...
Absidia and End This Day signed to Lifeforce for their upcoming full length releases. Absidia, some of you may know from their previous releases on Per Koro Records. Expect their firts Lifeforce Release for the beginning of 2003. End This Day is a young band from Wisconsin who impressed Lifeforce Records with thier demo. The new full CD is sheduled for summer 2003.
The effort, spearheaded by EmptyWords.org, to fulfill Chuck Schuldiner's dream of being on the cover of Guitar World Magazine has been sabotaged. What started out as a playful urging [in the Guitar World forums] to get Chuck on the cover, seems to have ended in as a tasteless joke. Despite requests to keep it civil, some people took it upon themselves to continue in a rather uncivil way.
