Swedish extreme heavy metal act Arch Enemy has posted photos from the band’s recent showcase in Wermelskirchen, Germany, as the group kicked off the campaign for its forthcoming studio album, "Khaos Legions." The album is due out later this year on Century Media Records.
The photos from the March 14th gig at the AJZ Bahndamm can be seen on the official Arch Enemy Facebook page at this location. 150 die-hard fans and journalists from all over Europe witnessed the worldwide premiere of two new songs from the upcoming album.
Guitarist Michael Amott stated, "Normally, an 'industry'/media show is a quite stiff and slightly boring affair, not so this time! We invited 150 Arch Enemy fans to join us via our Facebook page and voilà - it was ON! We had a blast ripping through the two new songs for the first time on stage, and judging by the crowd reaction - they were feeling it too! A big thanks to all involved; the Century Media crew, AJZ Bahndamm crew, the journalists and of course the amazing fans! This was a perfect start to the Khaos Legions campaign!"

Bullet Tooth recording artist NightShade is on track to drop the new album “Lost In Motion” in the U.S. on April 26th, 2011. The band's new multi-genre influenced album was birthed in the famed Studio Fredman under the supervision of the legendary Fredrik Nordstrom. As fans get ready for the new release, vocalist Wayne Hudspath, guitarist Bastien Deleule, and guitarist Paul Fuzinski discussed the creation of "Lost In Motion" with Metalunderground.com.
Commenting on the many sounds to be found on the disc, Wayne stated "Well we definitely wanted to incorporate a wide variation of styles into this album. All of the songs are written with very little to almost no repetition. We treated each song very individually, but still wanted to keep a strong theme throughout the album. As a new listener, one would expect to hear a range from melodic death metal and deathcore to hardcore and electronic sounds. From start to finish you can definitely count on a unique experience."
Below you can find the band's run-down on NightShade's history, explanation on getting signed to Bullet Tooth, and thoughts on bringing together different musical influences while writing songs. More...

Noisecreep.com is hosting Cypher Seer's new video for the song "Dying Force." The song is taken from the band's soon to be released album "Origins." You can check out the video clip below.
Band founder Sergio Ribeiro commented on the video:
"The song Dying Force is about humanity's self indulgence, which ultimately will lead us to self destruction. In the video we wanted to convey that message by showing a young woman losing something so precious that everyone seems to take for granted - our eyesight. Later in the video she regains her vision, by the hands of 'The Creator', as a second opportunity to lead a more humble and caring life, but eventually she falls back to old habits and loses her sight for good.
"The video's concept, direction and shooting was a joint effort by Marco Bobadilla and Michael Goncalves with some direction from us. The video was shot at an abandoned children's psych ward in Staten Island, NY - although it doesn't show, the live performance portion of the video was shot in blaring heat, and the acting part of the video was shot in frigid cold."

"Woods 4: The Green Album," the latest album from Canadian blackened doom merchants Woods of Ypres, has just been re-issued in Europe and is due to hit North America on Tuesday, March 22nd. Founding member and front man David Gold recently took some time to discuss the writing process for the album. Gold commented:
"A year from the day I arrived back in Canada, July 2009, we were in the studio with a new band, two tours already behind us, and we were recording W4: The Green Album. By the fall and another tour later, we were signed to Earache Records. Now, March 2011, The Green Album gets a worldwide release, less than two years since we started writing it and less than four years since I first said 'fuck it all' and moved to Seoul. What can I say? The plan? It was just so crazy that it worked!
"The Green Album was certainly the only album I knew how to write as it was the only thing still preoccupying what was left of my heart and brain at the time and I'm thankful that something good could come of it all, after all. The 16 songs of the album tell the story through the stages of such a journey that inevitably gets a whole lot worse before it gets any better. What starts with total life-changing devastation ends with the arrival of spring again and the promise of summer. If nothing else at all, at the time, it was enough. More...

Blackened death metal outfit Wolvhammer has lost the band's frontman Ryan Mckern. Wolvhammer is currently on tour, traveling down to play at SXSW in Austin, Texas, tonight at the Free Day Party. The vocalist/guitarist was replaced by vocalist Adam Clemans of Iron Thrones and guitarist Jeff Wilson formerly of Nachtmystium.
Ryan Mckern claims the reasons behind the change: “I moved to New Orleans this year as I have been going back and forth from Minneapolis to Louisiana to work with my project The Guilt Of…with Mike IX Williams [EyeHateGod and Arson Anthem vocalist]. Wolvhammer was a great way to be creative while I had to temporarily leave New Orleans in 2009. During my time in the band I wrote two EP’s and an album and did five tours, while commuting to NOLA for The Guilt Of…which got a writeup in Decibel Magazine. When I discussed wanting to do both Wolvhammer and new projects in new Orleans, the band decided to fire me. They are performing all new material and the two songs from “Black Marketeers” that I didn’t write. My picture is still being used in some press for their tour. But I wish them the best but would like to also say I expect new sounds and not what I did for them on previous albums. Fans of Wolvhammer can be on the lookout for some solo black metal songs I have coming out soon.” More...

"Last night I was getting ready for the concert, and two hours before the show, I started to feel like I had a hernia, or more like I had been hit in the groin.
"I told my tour manager that I needed a doctor and that there was no way I was going to get through this on my own; that I thought it might be in my best interest to consider canceling the show.
"Now I rarely, if ever cancel shows, and after 45 minutes of prayer with my loving wife and sweating like a dog, I was told to pee for the doctors. They then explained that there was blood in my urine. I was mad; I would say pissed, but that is an obvious pun.
"So they gave me an IV, and analgesic, and an anti-inflammatory injection. The next hour is kinda blurry, but I woke up and David [Ellefson, Megadeth bassist] was holding my hand and praying over me, and even Tom [Araya] and Dave [Lombardo] from Slayer came in to check on me, so I knew I was gonna be OK.
"And to anyone that thinks Tom and I are still opposed, I feel sorry for you.
"Anyway, when I woke up, they said that there was so many people outside of the venue still, that they could hold the show for 30 additional minutes, and I said, 'Guys, I am OK, and we can do this.'
"Well, the doctors were not amused at all.
"But then again, they have never met the likes of one Dave Mustaine. More...
