BLOODY SIGN's new album will be unleashed on April 14th through Ibex Moon Records. It is entitled "Explosion Of Elements" and contains 9 tracks. Bosniac label Walk Records will later release it for the Balkanic area. The band is still looking for European labels interested to licence the CD.
A tour of Germany and Holland with VITAL REMAINS is planned for May. You can check out a new song at the band's MySpace page.
The band also finished the recordings of "The Third Escape", a three track-EP to be released on Swedish Blood Harvest Records.
Chicago, IL's Raise the Red Lantern recently spent some time in the studio with Sanford Parker (Minsk, Buried At Sea) to record three new songs which will be featured on a split record with Richmond, VA's Lord By Fire. The split is set to be released by Richmond's weAREtheLABEL. The first sample song should be available soon at the band's MySpace.
Grindethic Records has renewed their working relationship with UK extreme metallers Detrimentum. The label had previously released their debut release, "A Monument to Suffering" in 1999.
Tom from Grindethic had this to say about the deal: "After long discussions with the band, we are extremely proud to announce that the fantastic full-length " Embracing This Deformity" will see light of day via Grindethic Records in Spring 2007. This album offers a unique experience of dark and crushing brutality intertwined with an atmosphere of morbid doom."
On Saturday, March 3, 2007 I went downtown yet again to the 9:30 club to see Chimaira, Dragonforce and Killswitch Engage perform the second of two sold out shows on the DC stop of the No Fear Music Tour. He Is Legend were openning the show, but due to prior commitments, I wasn't able to catch them.
I arrived a couple songs into Chimaira's set. The club was already packed very close to capacity. Chimaira continued to belt out what would be the heaviest songs and performance of the night with songs mostly from their previous two albums "Chimaira" and "The Impossibility of Reason." They played a couple of new songs from their then-upcoming album (since released March 6), "Ressurection," as well. "Needle" seemed very heavy and fit well within their set. Other favorites included "Pure Hatred" and staple slow-and-heavy song "Salvation." More...
Post black Metallers Control Human Delete revelead the cover artwork of their debut album ‘Terminal World Perspective,’ scheduled for April 17th on Aural Music imprint code666 records.
A Blasting mixture of avantgarde new school black metal and industrial landscapes, with the conceptual lyrics encompassing earth’s evolution and the destructive nature of its inhabitants, influenced by divine entities throughout history of the earth.
Flaw have posted 3 live videos from their reunion show on March 11th at Headliners in Louisville, KY, including one new song called "Do You Remember". Check em out below:
Thine Eyes Bleed have started working on their next album. "We are now a few days into the drums and they sound amazing," the band said in a statement. "The tracking room is nice and spacious with high ceilings and pine walls creating great acoustics. [Drummer] Darryl [Stephens] has been shredding his drum tracks so far, letting us know this is gonna be some brutal sh--. As for the rest of us, 'Guitar Hero' has been the main focus so far, enhancing our hand-eye coordination." No word yet on when the LP might see the light of day.
Black-metal maelstroms Angelcorpse have finished recording their fourth studio LP, Of Lucifer and Lightning. Look for the effort to feature "Antichrist Vanguard," "Machinery of the Cleansing" and "Saints of Blasphemy" when it hits stores in the coming months — a firm release date has not been revealed yet. In the meantime, East Coast fans can catch the 'Corpse in May on tour with Watain and Nachtmystium.
Florida based grindcore trio MARUTA have announced their signing to Willowtip Records:

Slayer formed in 1981 by guitarists Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King. Known for their distinctive musical traits, involving fast tremolo picking, guitar solos, double bass drumming, and screaming vocals, Slayer quickly gained recognition with their 1986 release Reign in Blood, which has been called "the heaviest album of all time". The band is credited as one of the "Big Four" thrash metal bands, along with Megadeth, Metallica, and Anthrax.
Criticized by religious groups (which consequently generated album bans, delays, lawsuits and, most importantly, publicity) due to their outspoken lyrics and creative album art, Slayer's lyrics cover topics such as serial killers, Satanism, religion, warfare and the Holocaust.
Selling over four million albums in the United States alone, since their debut record in 1983, the band has released two live albums, one box set, and ten studio albums. The band has received two Grammy nominations, winning one in 2007 for the song "Eyes of the Insane", and headlined music festivals worldwide, including Ozzfest and the Download Festival.
I sat down with legend Kerry King to catch up on their Christ Illusion tour. More...
Negura Bunget have scheduled an extensive European Tour. They will be joining or joined by a number of bands on their trek including Ephel Duath, Bossk, and Adultery among others. Here are the tour dates: More...

Buffalo, NY metallers SONS OF AZRAEL have updated their MySpace page to include a new song. Check out 'Turn That Crown Upside Down' at this location.
The new song will be included on the group's debut, The Conjurations Of Vengeance, out soon through Ironclad Recordings.
Tracks to appear on the album include: 'Trail Of Flesh', 'Angel Dust', '5-5-97', 'Mortal Human Form', 'Sweet Blasphemy', 'End Of The Rope', 'Scent Of A Dead Whore', 'Turn That Crown Upside Down'.
Unearth is the exception in today's generic radio-friendly metalcore, with songs that are injected with raw emotion rather than the ever so popular commercial mainstay. "A lot of our friends who used to be in kick-ass metal and hardcore bands are adding these pop choruses now for no reason," says frontman Trevor Phipps. "I think they're making the same mistakes that all the bands in the early '90s made when metal turned to complete horseshit. They're totally watering down their tunes to sell more records. We're just trying to prove that bands can still sell records and tour and have a career by making a heavy fucking record."
Unearth was formed by Trevor Phipps, Buz McGrath, Ken Susi, Mike Rudberg, and Chris Rybicki at Winthrop, Massachusetts in 1998. On the small independent label, Endless Fight Records, they released their first EP called Above the Fall of Man on May, 1999. Years after the release, Unearth signed to Eulogy Recordings to release The Stings of Conscience in 2002 and Endless in 2003. During the process of Endless, bassist Chris Rybicki left the group and was replaced by John Maggard.
I sat down with John Maggard to talk about their tour with Slayer. More...

In other news, a previously unreleased Shadows Fall song entitled "Blood Of Destiny" from the "God Of War II" soundtrack was reportedly just made available on iTunes this week. More...
Killswitch Engage's "My Curse" and Nonpoint's "Bullet With A Name" have both been featured in trailers for the new Quentin Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez double feature "Grindhouse." You can view some of those tv spots at The Movie Box or on the Grindhouse website
"Bullet With A Name" initially appeared as the first single to Nonpoint's highly acclaimed 2005 release, "To The Pain." Nonpoint are currently at home in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida writing the untitled follow up to "To The Pain".
Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's "Grindhouse" hits theatres everywhere on April 6th.
