"Asymmetry Festival is a unique event on the Central European scale. Successfully organized since four years, draws fans of the alternative music scene not only from Poland, but Germany, Czech, Slovakia, Hungary and many other neighbouring countries as well. The festival constantly develops its formula in continuous searches for new music genres – genres which defy labelling. The event will take place, for the first time, in a special location on the map of Wroclaw – the XIXc. building of the Browar Mieszczanski [Bourgeois Brewery], which since many years is an important cultural point of the city.
"Apart from the location, the assumptions and priorities in attitude towards the invited artists have changed as well. Among the 40 bands performing there, there is a numerous group of innovative projects, which are difficult to come across on any European festival stage. So side by side with the legendary Sleep, Killing Joke, Red Fang or Amenra, the guests of Asymmetry will also witness performances of all-star groups, created exclusively to in order to open the artistic floodgates of musical visions and the need to evolve.

"To show their devotion to the scathing Lord Mantis tones, the underground correspondents over at Cvlt Nation have hosted a stream of Pervertor in its entirety. Have yourself disemboweled by the brutal tunes here.

After over a year burnt up due to injuries and member changes, Santa Cruz bastards Dusted Angel are ready to re-emerge this Spring with their rehabilitated new lineup. Vocalist Clifford Dinsmore issued a statement on some background of where the new skin-smasher came from and how it's an important step for Dusted Angel, and even a bit about the newer, harder sound the band has taken on.
"Our new drummer's name is Steve Ilse, and he is on fire!" Dinsmore states. "Our background together goes all the way back to High(at) School. The very first bands I was in were with him: Suicide Prone, and Holocaust, circa 1980/81. I had some heavy shit going on when I was a teenager and when Steve and I became friends, his parents took me in, and treated me like a family member for years. M.A.D/Bl'ast! pretty much formed, and had first practices at what we called the 'Ilse Mansion.' His parents were so cool -- they would let all the punk bands practice in the garage, and during a couple of summers there were like 10 people living in that garage. His Mom would cook for all the touring bands, some of which over the years include Scream, Govt. Issue, SubHumans, L7, Helmet, Nirvana, and others to numerous to mention... or even remember at this point. Steve was also in an awesome punk band called Creature, with Eric and my bother Dave." Polish melodic/black metal band Naumachia has risen from a three year slumber and lineup changes, namely the departure of drummer Lukasz "Icanraz" Sarnacki and subsequent hiring of
Anders Johansen, to begin writing new material. The band's latest effort is the 2009 release "Black Sun Rising."
The band had the following comments:
We are very excited about composing new material. First effects are very promising. This time we are spending more time in our rehearsal room working together on arrangements. This gives us more possibilities and makes us better prepared for studio. We hear and feel the music better in every step of creation and we play the songs and riffs in many different ways to pick the most satisfying version. Our new drummer brings a lot of fresh energy, which will definitely influence the new songs. I'm sure that this new material will spread some real havoc accross Europe - this will be the new opening for Naumachia! Keep Metal!!!
German thrashers Cripper announced that bassist, Bastian "Bass-T" Helwig, has departed the band. In a post on Facebook, Helwig stated his reasons for the departure:
For everony comes the time to say goodbye one day. After two successful tours, lots of festivals, single gigs and a cruise under the sign of Metal, I now lay down the Cripper bass scepter with a heavy heart. To not tell the typical "due to musical differences" phrase, we have decided to give a more honest statement. I had lots of fun in Cripper, and it was certainly a privilege to enjoy all these things. However, behind the scenes one needs a lot of strength and endurance, which has increasingly begun to crumble for me. Problems in the private sector are doing their part. I won't blow my chance to say goodbye to our fans in my own personal way, and therefore I will play all shows before August. I wish the rest of the Cripper pack success and much of the "secret" ingredient - fun. Bass-T
The band also commented:
As you can imagine, this line-up change is not easy for us. We accept Bass-T's decision and wish him all the best for his future. We need to look ahead and won't let this stop us. We wanna make use of the time until August to find and incorporate a new bass player properly. Here we go, bass players. Apply, so that we can rock all shows as planned from August on. So far, 2012 looks like there's a lot comin'.
The new one on bass guitar is:
- no beginner
- time-wise flexible
- lives near Hanover [DE] or is willing to drive a lot
- has show and in the best case also studio experiences
- has a good stage presence (limelight hog!)

With less than a month until the release of Demon Hunter's new album, "True Defiance," the band is unleashing a second taste of what's in store for new and old fans alike with the track "My Destiny." Check out the song at this location.
"'My Destiny' is definitely one of my favorite tracks on the new album," explains Demon Hunter frontman Ryan Clark. "It shows just how much the band has progressed over the years. Like many traditional Demon Hunter tunes, it has a little bit of everything, and I think it flows really well through both heavy and melodic territories. My favorite parts are the guitar harmonies in the verses and how the chorus moves - the way the chords combine with the vocal melody is really interesting to me. I think fans are really going to dig this song."
"True Defiance" was produced by Aaron Sprinkle (ANBERLIN, EMERY) and mixed by Jason Suecoff (ALL THAT REMAINS, TRIVIUM). "We've been extremely underwhelmed with metal for the last five years or so, and that's been the fuel to create this record," Clark explains. "With an extreme over-saturation of false, fleeting, trend-hopping noise in today's metal scene, we had to make something we've been longing to hear. Something truly meaningful and artistic. Something our fans would love and something that will turn the heads of those who have ignored us for the past decade." More...
