"For the bad news first: Unfortunately, we had to cancel our appearance at Hellfest 2011 due to complications arising with the tour we were planning around it. We are incredible saddened by this development. However, we have every intent to get out to Europe later this year and hopefully we'll be able to do Hellfest next year. It was truly an honor to have even been asked.
"The good news: On June 21, 2011 we will be releasing an EP entitled Invisible White on Tee Pee Records. The EP contains three songs and is a bit of a departure from what people are used to hearing from us. However, fear not, because we are well into the writing process for our next LP, which will sound more like the Ancestors you're familiar with. That being said, we are very happy with the EP and we're excited to let people hear another side of the band. More news to come about the EP soon..."

Svartsot recently entered Lasse Lammert's LSD Studios to record an upcoming album. The band has now checked in with the following recording update, which details each day in the studio so far:
"Day 1.... The day began with the setting up of drums and a bit of a delay to go and pick up a drum skin. Drum recording began frustratingly late some time after 3. Jeff superbly nails 8 of the tracks in about 6 hours. He hails 'the best floor tom in the entire world ever' and a Lasse achieves a snare sound comparable to 'Thor's hammer striking God's balls'
"Day 2.... All drums quickly finished and work began setting up the rhythm guitars. An array of cabs laid out around Cris in the recording room results in the selection of a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier over a Bognor Cab. He shall play 'The Mistress', a 7 string tobacco sunburst Epiphone Les Paul, with a tube screamer in there somewhere. The sound achieved had such massive balls that when strumming a note one fifth of the earths surface at European longitudes experienced a partial eclipse of the sun. The nights will be a bit longer for the next few days. James arrives. Beers consumed.
"Day 3.... Jeff learns how to make the perfect cup tea. Cris gets the first songs laid down on the rhythm guitars. Day ends with a trip to the biker bar. Beers consumed. Whisky consumed. More beers consumed. Two bottles of strange blue stuff consumed. Jeff sustains minor bruising after tripping over a train track.
"Day 4.... Day starts early in the afternoon. Guitar re-strung. That's enough for today. Oooh…tea!
"Day 5.... Cris' wife and daughters contribute some atmospheric vocal parts for the recording. Guitar re-strung. Guitar recording re-commenced. Several more tracks completed. Kebabs eaten. Impromtu practice in a basement before Jeff goes home tomorrow. Jeff records a ludicrous drum solo on video.
"Day 6.... More guitar strings! Should finish the rhythm parts today. Jeff returns to Svendborg with the knowledge of an awesome job, awesomely done."
