Wendy Dio has issued the following new health update about Ronnie James Dio, who was diagnosed with stomach cancer:
"Well, now it has been Ronnie’s 7th chemo, another cat scan and another endoscopy, and the results are good – the main tumor has shrunk considerably, and our visits to Houston are now every three weeks instead of every two weeks.
"Ronnie and Vinny went down to the studio to have a listen and see how the DVD is coming along, NOT to overdub anything as presumed by Hoss2112 or Shattered 73 on the Blabbermouth rants. I was very annoyed to read these comments, and if they were truly fans of Ronnie’s, they would know #1) that Ronnie is a SINGER and does not need to overdub a live show, and #2) He would never cheat his fans by overdubbing a Live DVD. I will not be showing these comments to Ronnie, as I know they would hurt and upset him as they did me. He has been going to the REHEARSAL studio to sing, not the recording studio!
"Ronnie’s cousin Rock (from The Rods, who used to be in Elf with him) flew in from New York to visit Ronnie for a week and they enjoyed spending some time together, going to the movies and taking walks, and Ronnie and Rock went to the studio to master Rock’s new album, which Ronnie sings a track on. And Craig Goldy will be coming over to start writing new songs with Ronnie next week. It will be great to see him again, as he has been away touring with the British band Budgie.
"That’s all I can think of right now until the next update. God bless you all and we are still reading all the wonderful cards and letters."
Swedish death metal band Laethora, which features Dark Tranquility guitarist Niklas Sundin, has issued the following update about streaming a new song online from their upcoming second album:
"Hi all, the wait has been long, but we're finally getting closer to unleashing our second magnum opus 'The light in which we all burn.' The release date is set to May 11, but you can already now pre-order the limited edition CD & t- shirt bundle through the Omega order. The shirt design is exclusive and won't be for sale anywhere else. In addition to the already published 'Humanae,' the track 'A.S.K.E.' is now uploaded to our MySpace page.
"Mastered by Peter In de Betou, 'The Light In Which We All Burn' is an epic thirteen-track album taking into account all of the members' eclectic tastes in music, featuring violent and powerful death/grind metal performed with intense passion and ferocity. From the opening calm-before-the-storm beginning of 'Ekpyrosis' to the thrashing rage of 'World Deluge' and the open-chord ecstasy of 'Humanae,' the album truly shines in its diversity and dedication. The instrumentation is flawlessly executed with an organic and vibrant approach far from today's sterile extreme metal delivery."
"The Light In Which We All Burn" track listing is as follows::
2. I as Infernal
4. World Deluge
5. A New Day
7. The Sightless
10. Cast to Ruin
11. To the Point
12. Damnable Doctrine

Strange Flesh has issued the following update about pushing back the release date for their new album "In doG We Lust:"
"As of right now the cd release date will be pushed back a few weeks. It's simply a case of too much being done by too few people and in order to present the cd right, a few things had to change. Won't be long though as it's a minor thing. We'd like to say new guitarist Brett is kicking much ass, as is vocalist Chris. He's digging the promotion you could say.
"Finally got that key to the executive washroom. The online store MIGHT be up by this weekend. It's ready to roll with just a few additions to be made. The main website is up and running with a more streamlined, easier to figure out look. We do have some tentative local(Va Beach) shows lined up and we'll announce those soon. Safe to say however, our focus will soon turn to the next album which we're already discussing now. Rumor is-we're heading to Texas and the southeast in the summer!"
Zoroaster, who recently entered Atlanta’s Living Room Studios to begin the recording of the new album "Matador," has issued the following update about their van being stolen:
"SOME ASSHOLE STOLE OUR VAN!!!!!!!!! ..Our White, 2000 Ford E350 Passenger Van was stolen from our rehearsal studio , 3-11-10, early morning!!! Not that anyone may see it, but beware Atlanta bands that rehearse with us, that the upper lot is where it was parked!! It still has not been recovered!!!"

Remember those classic metal days when clean vocals and production that was just right ruled the metal industry? Whatever happened to the classic sounds like that of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabboth, WASP, and other of the essentials? Fortunately, this particular sound has gained some uprising again. Icarus Witch is a classical metal/rock band from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. I sat down with Bassist Jason Myers, who is also the tour manager as well. Icarus Witch continues to tour with Paul Di'Anno the original vocalist for Iron Maiden. More...
It has almost been thirty years since the completion of one (if not the most important) metal albums in history. When you listen to modern Iron Maiden music, then listen to anything from the first two albums, you can tell right away that there is a completely different tone. Indeed, Paul Di’Anno has always regarded himself as “Punk.” Inadvertently though, Di’Anno back then, set up a bridge between an unprecedented blend between punk and thrash in this New Wave of British Heavy Metal. This has influenced all modern day thrash bands way before the explosion of eastern thrash metal. More...

Swedish melodic death metallers The Cold Existence, who recently parted ways with their drummer and canceled their planned tour with Chain Reaction, have issued the following update about going on hold for an indefinite amount of time:
"We have come to the conclusion that we need to put Tce on hold for undecided time. The main reason for this is that we feel we have working really hard for many years now and the band will not really move forward. The members have other bands/projects to put the energy in. So at the moment the best for the band and it´s members is to put it on hold.
"Maybe in the future if the right kinda label show it´s interesst and support in the band we might will continue where we took off. Thanks to all people, labels and bands we working with through the years."

Trustkill has announced the signing of North Carolina metal/hardcore band DECEPTION OF A GHOST. Deception of a Ghost has been booking their own headlining tours all over the US. Guitarist and vocalist Buddy commented,"We just figured out from the start, we can't wait for people to make this happen for us, they don't care, we can do this on our own, shit really pays off!" The band armed with this DIY ethic has set out and played with Iwrestledabearonce, For The Fallen Dreams, In Fear And Faith, Vanna, Memphis May Fire, Stray From The Path, Stick To Your Guns, Greeley Estates, and more.
A collaboration of clean vocal melodies and thick screams blended with an onslaught of breakdowns and their triple harmony guitar attack is what shapes and molds their sound. Their freshly recorded album entitled “Speak up, You're Not Alone” was recorded with Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me, For Today, He Is Legend) and will be released on Trustkill Records Summer 2010.
You can check out a few songs from the forthcoming debut album on the band's Myspace player.
The band commented on the signing to Trustkill:
"To sign with Trustkill records and saying its a dream come true is an understatement for me. They have the bands that made me me wanna play music that we all looked up to and were influenced by. Now to say we are a part of that is nothing more than unreal. To me it's more than a dream its a sense of accomplishment. We have all caught ourselves in the van going to shows and saying "Can you believe we just signed to Trustkill" Yea this is a dream but I'm finally awake this time!" - Buddy
"I’ve written songs about following your dreams. I’ve been to countless shows and said “Wow, I want to do that.” and I've always said I will do what makes me feel alive. Music makes me feel what no one seems to feel anymore and I never thought something of this magnitude would come our way. Trustkill Records has sparked a flame that will burn forever in my heart for this industry. I may be young, but I can firmly say that I hold a dream and will never let go." - Blake
"We are all super stoked to be apart of the Trustkill family. We wanted to find a label that really believed in our music and wanted to push the record hard and Trustkill is just as excited to as we are to get the ball rolling." - Bryan
The band was previously signed to Forsaken Records and released their debut self-titled album in 2008.

In week four of Celebrity Fit Club we finally get to see Sebastian Bach (Skid Row) in true form, that is to say, the anger finally appears. The best comparison I see is looking at Skid Row’s self titled debut album versus the follow-up, Slave to The Grind, going from “I Remember You” to “The Threat,” a sweet ballad to destruction. In this episode Bach goes from 0 to 100 in a matter of minutes, hitting cameras, getting in the face of female teammates, and dropping fifty F-bombs in less than five minutes. Nice to have you back Sebastian… More...
