Believer Posts Another New Song, "Stoned," Online

Reunited Christian thrash metal group Believer has posted a second new song entitled, "Stoned" online at their official Myspace account. You can check out the song by clicking here. The song comes from the bands forthcoming new studio album, "Gabriel" which will be released on March 17th through Cesspool Recordings / Metal Blade Records.

Speaking on "Stoned," drummer Joey Daub says: "As we were mixing Stoned, the ripping old school death metal riff and locking into a groove felt great until we added the weird piano section. After repeated listens to this part during the mix, both Jeff and Kevin developed throbbing headaches and severe nausea. It must have been the odd, conflicting timing between the keys, guitars and drums totally screwing with their inner ears or something. Obviously Kurt and I felt great (not sure what that says about us), but I guess that’s what one might call ‘feeling the song’. Warning: Listening to this section over and over again may induce physical illness."

Soilwork To Cut Back On Touring

Guitarist Peter Wichers of Swedish metal band Soilwork recently did an interview with MetalSucks.net. When the topic of what effect family has on touring here's what he had to say:

"I've seen most of the guys in Darkane who all have kids. They are able to make this happen, so I don't see a reason why I won't be able to do that. I think that when I came back, we did talk a little bit about how we're going to do the touring in the future. I think everybody agrees that Soilwork might have done too many tours that probably they didn't have to do. I think that we're all in the same understanding that we're not going to do as much touring as we did before. We won't over-tour the records. That also made my decision a lot easier to make when I knew that that's what the guys wanted to do. A lot of the guys now are married and have wives and stuff. When I was in the band 4 years ago, everything was kind of up in the air a bit more. Since then a lot of people have settled down, and they have something to come back to at home instead of just spending a lot of time on the road."

Primordial Vocalist Discusses Recession In Ireland

Primordial vocalist Alan Averill "Nemtheanga" has checked in with another of his usually long updates. You can read what he has to say below:

"It has been a while since my last confession.

"So what's been happening? Well seeing as I am blogging on Myspace you will notice we have moved out of the stone age as far as the presentation and graphics are concerned and varied the songs a little more. Merchandise is finally in the process of going up. Before the end of the month hopefully.

"Imrama is out early next week finally and looks great, Paul from Unhinged/Scald has done the job once again and now we are working on Journeys End, Spirit and Storm. It feels good to be listening again to these old albums and have them finally under one flag, no longer at the mercy of inscrutable labels and middle men. Imrama has a bonus dvd of a show from February 1994. Very rough, raw and old school. It would have been easier to tag on a new show filmed for nothing at a festival but for Imrama we felt we should include something from that time. If you have the originals of course we do not ask you buy them again. However even a purist must admit it is important to have these albums out there and available once again. They are not only important chapters in our career but important milestones in the history of 90s Metal. More...
