Vanmakt has released the title and tracklisting of their upcoming album. Here's what the band had to say:
"Well, as you might now we have been rehearsing new songs for a forthcoming album as well as letting our new guitarist find his place in the Vanmakt camp. We r really looking forward to record a new album since we now have a lineup that is strong and honest as well as we now know how Vanmakt wants to sound. So heres a little info regarding the next album, more info regarding the release will come when it is settled.
"14 new songs has been written and pre-recorded, but only 3 with vocals at the moment. Heres some working titles, we will decide 8-9 songs to record for the album that will be entiteled "Ad Luciferi Regnum" wich means in a rough translation "To the Kingdom of Lucifer".
1: The Second Key *
2: Brethren Of Lucifer *
3: Gathering Beneath The Moor *
4: Id XIII Inferni
5: Re-Incarnating Hatred
6: Jesus & The Harlot
7: The Ascension *
8: A Funeral Written In Blood *
9: Ad Luciferi Regnum *
10: Celestial Mist
12: Euphoric Delusions
13: Endless Myth, Infectious Halo
The new songs are faster since we enjoy to play fast music, their even more melodic but at the same time more brutal and rough, you will hear for yourselves soon enough, now we have to rehearse and see wich songs that sounds the best together and if we have to do any changes, but the songs with * is already choosen for the new album and will undergo a strict listening session with all the members so that we can decide if everything is as we want it to be.
"Thats it for now, be sure to listen to our promo-recording of "Brethren Of Lucifer" wich you can find at our myspace page (www.myspace.com/Vanmakt).

After a consistent run of tours in support of their last album, Ohio's Harlots will be taking some time off from the road. Drummer Jeff Lohrber comments:
"When you get involved in heavy touring of any kind, it can really strain the friendships within and outside of the band. Through the course of recording and touring for 'Betrayer' we've went through so many challenges where most bands would have given up. So now, it's time to get back to real life for a few months and recoup. Christian will be finishing school this Spring, Eric has been working on a new project with ex-members of Kenoma and Rune for a while now, Josh just got a house with his girlfriend and will be busting his face skating when the warm weather comes, and I will be working on a new band as well."
The band does however expect to resume touring in late-June/July.
Meanwhile, Harlots is currently hard at work on their second album for Lifeforce Records. The group has demoed roughly fourteen songs thus far, with plans to write more. Lohrber adds, "This will be the first time that we've gotten to do a follow-up release with a label, and we're going to take advantage of the opportunity and go completely overboard!"
Parkway Drive, Have Heart, Antagonist, and Break Even will tour Australia together in June. Here are the latest tour dates:

The latest Lollapalooza rumor has Rage Against the Machine and Wilco added to the bill alongside the already-rumored Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. C3 Presents, the Austin, TX-based company behind Lollapalooza, refuses to confirm or deny any rumors. The official line-up will not be announced until next month.
The Classic Struggle has cancelled a few shows following an injury to vocalist Tim Zlinksky, who recently shattered his wrist. Zlinsky has surgery earlier this week to "rebuild his wrist with a metal plate and some screws." The band comments:
"To make sure the surgery went well and everything in his wrist is adjusting well, we have to be back home for a follow-up appointment. As a result, we have to cancel the dates March 23rd - 27th. We deeply appologize to everyone in Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, and Minnesota who was looking forward to seeing us on those dates. We absolutely hate canceling shows, but we must in order to make sure that we are able to continue with the rest of our scheduled shows this spring/summer. We'll be on the road for the remainder of this year in support of our second full length due out this summer and promise to make it up to you. Sorry again and see you on the road."
Boston, Massachusetts metallers, Ravage, post the following update on their Myspace page:
"The 'Damn Nation' album’s mastering is finally all done. It seems like it’s taken forever and a day...but that day has passed and it’s almost time to rock!"
"We’ve posted a cover of the Iron Maiden song 'Be Quick Or Be Dead,' which we recorded during the 'Damn Nation' sessions. We will not be including this song on the CD, so we thought we’d throw it out there for now. Original songs will be posted when there is a label announcement and release date...along with more videos and blah blah. It won’t be long now."

Kerrang.com reports that Ozzfest 2008 is strongly rumored to be coming to the UK with a one-off show at London's 02 Arena on July 19.
OZZY OSBOURNE, who begins a series a South American tour on March 30 with KORN and BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, looks set to headline the one-day extravaganza.
Although promoters and agents involved with the show are remaining tight-lipped, Kerrang.com believes that other bands in the running are KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, ALICE IN CHAINS, SERJ TANKIAN, DIMMU BORGIR and LACUNA COIL.
As previously reported, the U.S. version of Ozzfest is rumored to be morphing into a two-day "destination festival" in Dallas. There has been no official word yet on what format Ozzfest will take or who will be on the bill.
The rumors come in the wake of this year's arrival of the metal-oriented Rockstar Energy Mayhem Tour, which will play 30 North American amphitheaters during July and August, the time when Ozzfest is traditionally making its rounds.
Last year's Ozzfest offered free admission, with fans acquiring tickets mostly through sponsoring web sites. But the acts were not paid either, which resulted in a decidedly less than impressive main stage lineup. The Mayhem trek has already robbed Ozzfest of two potential main-stage heavyweights in DISTURBED and SLIPKNOT, with fan favorites DRAGONFORCE and MASTODON also taking part in the Mayhem tour.
OZZY OSBOURNE is likely to headline the U.S. Ozzfest as a solo act again, since his BLACK SABBATH bandmates are busy with their HEAVEN AND HELL offshoot.
The Mayhem tour is being co-produced by Kevin Lyman, who has the successful Warped and Taste of Chaos packages on his resume.
Roadrunner Records reports:
"...You have a trademark that you play a certain way. For some musicians, their whole life they spend developing this... it becomes a trademark thing. If it does remind people of Roots or Chaos AD, it should because it's me and him and our own path and our own instinct...There's definitely a resemblance." - Max Cavalera
In this, Part 3 of our 5 part interview with Max and Iggor answering your questions, we learn about how the songs on debut album Inflikted came together, and what we can expect from the ‘sound' of Cavalera Conspiracy, amongst other things.
Part 4, will also be available on March 14th.
Austrian extreme metallers BELPHEGOR have posted the title track of their forthcoming album, "Bondage Goat Zombie", on their MySpace page. A video for the song was recently filmed and will make its online premiere soon.
"Bondage Goat Zombie" is scheduled for release on April 15 via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD was recorded at Andy Classen's Stage One Studios in Kassel, Germany.
Commented the band: "The album features artwork in classic and disturbing BELPHEGOR style. Some of the nine brand new tracks will deal with the writings of the infamous Marquis de Sade. Sounds like the ultimate BELPHEGOR treatment? Expect supreme death/ black metal art." More...
ICED EARTH has issued the following update:
"Freddie Vidales from San Antonio, Texas has been selected to pound the pavement (and a few eardrums) on the road with ICED EARTH in 2008 as the band's new bass player. Prior to joining ICED EARTH, Freddie was the bassist and frontman for 10 years in his own band called INFUSION. Freddie has been influenced by bands such as IRON MAIDEN, BLACK SABBATH, DEATH, KING DIAMOND, and of course, ICED EARTH. You can hear and see Freddie covering tracks from a few of the bands above not only on bass, but also guitar at his personal MySpace page." More...
THE ACACIA STRAIN have posted the following update:
"Just checking in to give you all an update as to what we have going on over here... pass it on. :)
We are almost finished writing the new record, we have 2 more songs to go! We have been in the studio writing and getting ready to record for over 2 months and we can't wait to get in the studio and lay this stuff down. Looks like we are still shooting for a September release for the record.
We are going to Europe in July and August. We will be there from July 11th to August 4th. We will be touring with Annotations Of An Autopsy and Knights Of The Abyss.
We are looking forward to the tour and getting back over that way. It has been a long time! (For those in other countries we may not get to this time, we are working on it, promise.) Keep checking back for cities and dates!
June is still a go for a US tour. Bands, cities, etc. to be announced soon.
We are re-doing our MySpace and that will be up within the next couple of days. Thanks to Mike @ theMike Designs for helping us out with that. He rules!
In the meantime, our management put two songs on the player that you wanted to hear.

See you soon."
BLACK DEATH drummer PHIL BULLARD passed away of colon cancer on February 6, 2008 at age 59. Bullard is survived by two daughters (Philicia and Earlicia), four grandchildren (Warren, Curstie, Curtis and Julian) and two sisters (Nicola Ammons and Roberta).
Black Death was a four piece heavy metal band from Cleveland, Ohio founded in 1977. The band consisted of lead vocalist/guitarist Siki Spacek, guitarist Greg Hicks, bassist Darrell Harris and Bullard on drums. They are considered to be the first all-black heavy metal band from the U.S. "A great guy who kept us all in line," comments guitarist Greg Hicks.
"There never would have been a Black Death without Phil. He had the fire. There was chemistry from the first time we played." Adds former Black Death manager Bob Surgent, "I am privileged to have known Phil as a friend and worked with him in Black Death. I know he's playing drums with HENDRIX. Tears run red."
Black Death had two songs featured on the 1983 Cleveland Metal compilation album and released one self-titled full length album and 7" on Auburn Records in 1984 before fading into obscurity in the late '80s. A double-CD reissue of their original album, with bonus tracks, is near completion and set to be released by Auburn Records this summer. "Phil and I worked very closely together back in the Black Death years," says Auburn Records president Bill Peters. "He was always a first class professional, a great drummer, hard worker and loyal friend. Phil was the person behind the scenes who kept the band together during both the good and bad times . He always looked at the bright side of things regardless of the challenges and circumstances we all faced. He never changed and had the same positive energy today with his new project. His smile and laugh will be missed."
Up until his illness forced him to stop playing late last year, Bullard was drumming for Cleveland metal band MANDRAKE, which features guitarist Mike Greene, former Black Death guitarist Greg Hicks on bass and guitarist/vocalist Tim Greene (ex-DESTINATION/NIGHTCRAWLER). The band plans on finding a new drummer and continuing in Bullard's honor. "I feel blessed to have played 3 years with such a great guy," says Mike Greene. "When Phil joined the band, it was all about the music. No drama. Just best friends and band mates."
Greene won a contest for a vacation to Montana last year and invited Bullard. "That trip really meant a lot to Phil," says Greene. "I am so glad I was able to do that for him before he left us. He told me he had not had a vacation away from home since his two war tours of 'Nam and that really did not count."
Greg Hicks adds, "Phil brought me on board in Mandrake to play bass with him towards the end. I had not played bass since the early 80s and was unsure at first but Phil felt strongly we would work good together. A straight shooter who did not want anyone to feel bad for him. Looking back I now know why he wanted me to play with him for the last time. I did not realize at the time. He covered up his illness from his closest friends and fought his battle courageously. He will definitely be missed". More...

Belgian melodic death metallers HERFST posted the following message on their official website:
"After countless hours of debate, HERFST has decided to stop cooperating with our vocalist Arne [Vandenhoeck]. This decision will come as a shock to most of you, but we figured that his voice was no longer the genre we are looking for and the direction we're heading. We have been good friends ever since we first hooked up so many years ago, so it has been one tough decision to make. We have been through good and hard times together but we decided it was time to move on. Arne will not be a part of our (recorded) "N e c r o t i c a" album but he will make some guest appearances on there, and he will play a couple of farewell shows in the appropriate manner. We would like to express our vast gratitude to his significant share in our uprising, and will eternally be bonded, as friends and musicians. We wish him all the best in his (promising) new projects and will definitively be following his further activities in the scene."
Arne's personal statement is as follows:
"Yeah, the die has cast... it feels strange and uncomfortable waking up as ex-singer of Herfst, after 5 years of dedication and passion. The news came as a shock, but... when you lack the necessary respect and confidence in your work, well, going on is not an option anymore. I regret the fact that I can't do my thing on Necrotica, since I had been looking forward to it as much as the other guys. BUT I respect their decision and will help the band when needed, as this is not a personal issue, but a musical one! I lost 'my' band, but gained a lot of experiences, friends and friendship that will last thanks to the band. I will do the upcoming gigs and will enjoy them as never before! and after that... new adventures will lay on my path of persistence."
Later, the band posted the following:
"HERFST is looking for a new vocalist. We're not going to make it easy for the auditions, so here are without frills the requirements he/she must live up to:
- have a broad vocal range: well defined grunts and passionate screams. Clean vocals are a definite plus.
- self esteem but not self overestimation. Huge ego's are not welcome in this band.
- A penchant for dark, melodic extreme metal.
- a good stage presence (charisma, being able to work the crowd) is a must.
- Influences range from DISSECTION to EXTOL to OPETH to NEVERMORE"
Running twice a year for six years straight, this Spring Jägermeister Music Tour continues the momentum with a co-headlining bill featuring Hatebreed and Type O Negative. Support will come from the Canadian metallers 3 Inches of Blood.
Hatebreed have been touring non-stop in support of their 2006 release “Supremacy” and look forward to another up-close encounter with Jägermeister. “Having the opportunity to headline the Jägermeister Music Tour like our friends from Slayer and Slipknot is a tremendous honor.” says frontman, Jamey Jasta. “Jägermeister has supported heavy music in so many different ways and they continue to bring together the best of the best in metal. The Spring Tour will be no different and co-headlining with our friends from Type O Negative makes it that much sweeter.”
New Yorkers, Type O Negative hit the metal scene in 1991. Many of today’s rockers have acknowledged the measure of Type O Negative’s influence in their own work. The band is fired up to tour with their SPV Records debut, “Dead Again.”. Peter Steele of Type O Negative says, “We’ve always had serious respect for everything Jägermeister does in music and headlining their Tour has been a long-time goal of ours. It’s an even greater accomplishment to have a co-headlining band like Hatebreed along for the ride with us.”
“We thought long and hard before putting this tour together and feel these two bands are a perfect fit for the Spring Jägermeister Music Tour,” says Rick Zeiler, Director of Strategic Marketing for Jägermeister. “We’ve been doing this long enough to know who will work well on our Tour and feel the synergy is perfect. Get ready, metal fans -- this will definitely be one of the hardest tours we've ever done!”
The Tour will rock through June and each show will be rounded out with a local Jägermeister sponsored band. For about 25 bucks, fans will not only have the opportunity to experience a great show, but also have a chance to snag some great Jägermeister prizes and giveaways like JägerMusic compilation CD’s, as well as plenty of Jägermeister shirts, hats, and more. Other prizes provided by Tour sponsors include custom items from Schecter Guitars, Peavey Electronics, and JVC Mobile Entertainment.

From Autumn To Ashes is currently writing material for a new album. The group hopes to enter the studio this spring, with a late-2008 release planned.
Meanwhile, drummer Jeff Gretz continues to recover from the broken foot he suffered in January. His cast has been removed and according to the band, "he's ready to start building up to playing again." Unfortunately, guitarist Brian Deneeve's foot is now in a cast after he injured it during a live performance in Australia.
In related news, the band has launched a new website here.
Hydra Head Records will hold their SXSW showcase Friday, March 14th at Red 7 in Austin, Texas. The show starts at 7pm and the line-up is as follows:
Dutch riff masters of sludge/doom, Heavy Lord will be releasing their third album, "Chained To The World," and a limited edition 12" LP is planned as well.
The album was recorded, mixed and produced at Contribution of The Void Studio (known from such bands as Celestial Season, Motorpsycho, etc.). According to the band, compared to their previous record, "From Cosmos to Chaos," the music is more brutal and destructive and the presence of mature musical skills make the band one of the representatives of the genre.
The vinyl edition is strictly limited to 500 copies. Some copies will be sold via Solitude Productions mailorder and other on Heavy Lord shows.
