Launch Radio Networks reports: Nickelback is releasing one more single from its 2005 album, 'All The Right Reasons', and it's "Side Of A Bullet", a song inspired by the death of Pantera/Damageplan guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott. Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger told Launch about the first time he played the track for Dimebag's brother, drummer Vinnie Paul. "I called Vinnie, I wanted to get his blessing, and I play him the tune and I'm telling him that it's this very Pantera-inspired riff," Chad said. "He was into it. He was digging it over the phone, and then he says, 'You know what, dude? You gotta write one for Dime.' And I said, 'Well, I wasn't quite sure how to lead into this, but that's what the song's about, and I kind of want to get your blessing on it.'And he's like, 'Brother, of course you have my blessing.'"
"Side Of A Bullet" features a previously unheard guitar solo from Abbott that was edited together from outtakes off various Pantera albums.
The song was written shortly after Abbott was killed by a disturbed gunman during a December 8, 2004 Damageplan concert in Columbus, Ohio.
A live video of Nickelback performing "Side of a Bullet" — featuring a solo by "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott played over the speakers and a large screen with video footage of Dimebag going through the whole song — has been posted online at YouTube.com.
Rob Zombie recently talked to MTV.com in depth about his "Halloween" remake. Here are some excerpts:
MTV: Talk about the plot of John Carpenter's 1978 classic versus the plot of your "re-imagining."
Zombie: The plot is so simple [in the original]; it's this young kid Michael Myers. We've changed it a bit — in the original, he kills his sister; then he's sent to Smith's Grove Sanitarium, which he later escapes from as an adult; comes home and starts randomly killing babysitters. Later, in sequels, they made [his back story] more significant — but in the first one, it's pretty random ... I've added a lot more to it, and I've tried to make everything he did be motivated and justified in some way, so it's never random killing for no reason. There's a reason for everything.
MTV: Most people hear "Rob Zombie's 'Halloween' " and assume it'll be the classic movie with tons more blood and gore. Is this accurate?
Zombie: No, not really; there's not tons more blood. I'm not really a fan of '80s slasher bloody movies. [They've] always bored me ... I like character-driven movies. [This] is really violent and really intense, but it's because you get swept up in the characters ... a bloodbath doesn't interest me.

In the latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine, Marilyn Manson talks about his new album "Eat Me, Drink Me", which is tentatively set for a June release.
"Halfway though last year I was in such a black hole of depression," he says. "I couldn't make anything, I couldn't do anything. I lost hope." At the time, Manson's mother was diagnosed with a mental illness and, he says, "I got trapped in one of the classic rock and roll cliches of having people work for me rob me behind my back."
Manson says he was finally uplifted by a close friend's morbid gesture of devotion. "She picked up a butcher's knife and said, 'Here, you can stab me'" he says. "When someone was willing to drown with me, I really didn't want to drown anymore." This theme is depicted in the six-minute epic "If I Was Your Vampire", which Manson wrote on Christmas. "That song is the new 'Bela Lugosi's Dead'," says Manson. "It's the all-time gothic anthem."
The album's lyrics were written after last Halloween. That night, Manson presided over the opening of his Los Angeles art gallery. The next morning he left his home in the Valley and set up temporary digs at a studio-equipped house in the Hollywood Hills. "Suddenly," he says, "I felt liberated. I'd write a song, walk two doors down the hall and record it right then." Manson's lyrics, which were recorded over tracks crafted by Tim Skold (who joined Manson's band in 2002 as bassist), came quickly. "I was writing out of desperation and hope," he says. "The record came out in a rush-like an open wound-and I went with it."
