Created by drummer Daniel Flores and fronted by vocalist Angelica Rylin, newly formed Swedish act The Murder Of My Sweet just released their debut album “Divanity." Several tracks from the album can currently be heard through the band's MySpace page. Commenting on the name of the album and the sound of the band Rylin stated, "We wanted a name that could capture the elements of the sound and the lyrics and the film noir vibe that we want to create and so we came up with this hybrid of words like diva, divine, and vanity, simply Divanity." Rylin explained to me the process of recording the album in Daniel Flores' own studio, the sound of their music, and discussed writing a new song with former In Flames guitarist Jesper Strömblad. Each week in "Unearthing the Metal Underground," we'll be putting a few quality underground bands in the spotlight in an attempt to get the word out about them. In this edition of Unearthing the Metal Underground I’ll be discussing some random bands I found on MySpace. All acts are unsigned and talented.
Margin of Existence
Margin of Existence is a Greek melodic death metal band that takes the genre to a brutal level. The guitars are straight out of In Flames’ “Whoracle” album, but the vocals, done by George Triantafilou, are something straight out of Immolation. Many bands copy the in flames guitar style, but Margin of Existence adds in other death metal influences into the music. Check out their MySpace page here. More...
Swedish death metallers Feral have signed a record deal with Ibex Moon Records. The band issued the following statement about the signing:
"Feral are honored to sign to John McEntee's Ibex Moon Records, having released many albums of artists that we show great respect to. Several years of writing has given us loads of material to choose from and the time to rework our songs to perfection. Expect nothing else than our debut album to be a slab of rotting flesh reeking of groovy Swedish death metal. New tracks never released in any form will be recorded during this session as well, including probably the most intense material we have ever spawned. Primal rage and pure malevolence lies ahead, the Feral beast is now howling under the Ibex Moon!"
Feral are currently recording the new album "Dragged To The Altar," which is expected to be released some time in 2010. In the mean time you can catch sample Feral tracks at the band's MySpace page.

Connecticut metallers The Breathing Process have issued the following statement regarding fans illegally downloading their music:
"We know that downloading is all the rage now a days, why pay for something that you can just have right? money sucks these days, jobs suck, fuck the economy, etc. What some of you may not know is that while downloading doesnt really effect pop acts that sell 234230813520486.. records like Linkin Park or Miley Cyrus, For bands at our level, it does so much more than take money away from us (which we don't care much about). Our last album we sold roughly 6,000 copies in stores, which was a lot more than we were expecting, but in order to get on one of those awesome agencies that will put us on tours at good sounding clubs with awesome bands, we have to sell at least 10,000 or so.
"Now after some research we found around 11,000 downloads of our album from various torrent sites, which means if no one downloaded, we would've sold like 17,000 records, and would've gotten on great tours that would actually come to your cities instead of the small towns surrounding it. All that those agencies can see is the official sound scan that shows that we SOLD in STORES 6,000. Politics in the band world are fucking bullshit, but we all kind of have to deal with it. So in closing to my long stupid rant, if you care about music and wish to see our band grow and continue on to make more records, BUY IT, downloading only makes our band grow weaker. And will make you grow incessantly long pubic hair that will NEVER GO AWAY!!"
The band's sophomore album "Odyssey: (Un)Dead" is set to be released on March 9th in the U.S. and March 8th in Europe.
Satanochio has issued the following update regarding the addition of their new bassist:
"Yes, we are now 4. The fourth member is the new bass player, that will take care of all bass lines from now on during Grui sanger will concentrate just on his unique masterful guitar touches. The fourth member is called IV, cause this is the most important thing for Satanochio, that we are now 4 and we can record our music... live."

"After getting 12 hours of sleep and consuming proper food after a month's touring, I think it's time for an overview on the Killfest tour. All around Europe, from Spain to Slovakia, we've never seen more passionate crowd. The thrash metal audience is probably one of the most devoted bunch of people! Every single night, even if there were 200 or 600 people in the venue, the brought passion that discriminates thrash metal shows from everything else...

All you guys helped us pull this tour through and we thank you for that, we shall meet again. And what could be possibly said for Overkill... 25 years, still got it... Every single night taught us how thrash metal is delivered and we tried to gain as much as we could from that! Bobbi Blitz, DD Verni, Derek, Dave and Ron... What a gang! Thank you for showing us how true music, straight from the 80's, sounds like. Thank you. More...

Italian metallers Stormlord have issued the following update about parting ways with their guitarist and working on a new album:
"Hi guys, it’s been a long since the last update, isn’t it? That why we felt the will to bring some fresh news to all the legions of the Storm out there. First of all, we want you to know that we parted ways with our mate Pierangelo Giglioni (rhythm guitars) and we wish him the best luck for the future. The replacement was found in Andrea Angelini, an old friend of Stormlord: we know him since a long time, we like his bands (Stick It Out and Withate) and we already had a sort of collaboration back in 2002, on Francesco (Bucci – bass) and David (Folchitto – drums) side-project, Outbreak. Andrea has been on stage with us for more that a year now, he is highly motivated and ready to measure his talent with some new Stormlord music.
"Talking about that, after almost two years of touring promotion for 'Mare Nostrum,' we’re about to stop the live activity for a while. The response to our 2008’s album has been outstanding and we had the chance to perform a lot of concerts in Europe and even in ..Africa... Now it’s time for us to work harder on the new songs, that’s why we’re gonna play four last shows before to dig ourselves in the rehearsal room in order to complete the songwriting for our fifth album. The stuff we already have sounds damn’ good: innovative yet loyal to the epic Mediterranean style of 'Mare Nostrum.' We hope to enter the recording studio between the end of this year and the beginning of 2011. So, don’t miss the chance to see the last Stormlord shows for a while, it’ll be our pleasure to storm the stages in your neighbourhood!"
Stormlord also has the following upcoming tour dates: More...
Norwegian Gothic metal act Theatre of Tragedy has issued the following announcement about officially calling it a day:
"After nearly 17 years in existence Theatre of Tragedy has decided to call it a day and close down. This has not been an easy decision to make and we have thought about this for a long long time. We finally agreed to this during the production of our latest album 'Forever is the world.' Theatre of Tragedy will come to an end on October 2nd 2010, exactly 17 years after we started making music together. Over the years all of us have strived to combine the Theatre with everyday life but in the end it has proven more and more difficult. We have come to appreciate our family lives and jobs, which makes it very hard to continue this life of rock'n'roll on the road.
"We know that some of you will probably be very disappointed, but we also hope you will continue to listen to our music, which all of you learned to appreciate and love so much. We want to thank everyone of you for all your support over the past 17 years! Theatre of Tragedy wouldn't have been possible without you! Be sure to catch us on the last Theatre of Tragedy shows ever this year! The final gig will take place on October 2nd in Stavanger, where it all began. Our music will live on... and forever is the world."
