Polish metal band Crystal Viper revealed more details on the band's forthcoming new album "Crrimen Excepta." In the latest post on Facebook, the band announced two guest appearances and one cover song for the release:
"It's time, to reveal few more details about our new album... There will be two special guests on 'Crimen Excepta': David Bower, vocalist of Hell appear in the title track, while Vader mainman Peter will be heard in the cover version of the classic Vader song 'Tyrani Piekiel,' which will be available as the bonus track on the first, limited edition of the album. So most probably Crystal Viper is the first ever Heavy Metal band, which re-arranged and recorded Death Metal cover song."
Singer Marta Gabriel commented on the new album and the guest appearances:
We already announced that fans should expect the unexpected. The new album is different than everything Crystal Viper did in the past. Of course it's still traditional Metal, and it's still Crystal Viper - but this time, everything was different, starting from the compositions, through our attitude and inspirations, up to equipment we used and the recording session itself. It was amazing to have Peter in the studio, we all are huge fans of Vader, and I think he was also amazed when he heard how our voices sound together in this Heavy Metal version of 'Tyrani Piekiel'. And when you will hear the lines of William The Judge recorded by David of Hell, you will have jaw on the floor. We had.
"Crimen Excepta" is scheduled for release on April 27, 2012 via AFM Records.

Impending Doom has released a behind the scenes video clip of the band tracking its latest release "Baptized in Filth." Check out the footage below. The band will release "Baptized in Filth" on March 13th, 2012, which was produced by Andreas Magnusson (The Black Dahlia Murder) and Machine. Bassist David Sittig comments:

As previously announced, Swedish black metal miscreants Watain will take part in the inaugural Decibel Magazine Tour alongside Behemoth, The Devil’s Blood, and In Solitude. The live ceremonies will begin on April 11th in Ohio and bloody 26 stages including a stop in Oklahoma City where the trek will merge with the U.S. Torture Tour featuring Cannibal Corpse, Exhumed, Abysmal Dawn, and Arkaik for an evening of audio devastation.
Pleased to take part in the event, frontman Erik Danielsson comments: “We were originally meant to spend this year in the shadows, focusing inwards and on the new material we have compiled during the years since Lawless Darkness was released. This tour however was a bit too good to say no to. It is so seldom these days that someone actually managed to put together a descent tour package, which Decibel sure has managed to do this time. A ‘clash of the titans’ indeed! And considering the other bands on the tour, I can just imagine our management and the promotors biting their fingernails in anxiety and horror, waiting for the first arson or murder report from the road.
"Touring the States is always inspirational; there is always lots of emotion, anger, debauchery, decadence and a general feeling of lawlessness in the air, so I am sure this tour will nourish the writing process to a certain extent as well. A rich and fertile foundation of harsh physical and emotional experience has always played a big role in Watain writing new material, and this tour will for sure contribute to that. We will aim to make it interesting and memorable enough to do so.”
Tour dates are as follows: More...

Borknagar's mastermind Øystein G. Brun checked in to comment about the song:
"In regards to the depth, diversity and magnitude of our new album, 'Urd', it almost feels painful to slice off just a tiny bit of the bloody roast for the very first official 'starter'. I would argue that each and every song on the new album stands on solid ground, but as usual with our music, the songs empower each other in the context of a full album.
"That said, 'Roots' is probably the song on the album that gives you the most representative impression of 'Urd'. Musically it contains most of the elements that framework the musical universe of BORKNAGAR, and lyrically this song is gnawing on the very spine of our lyrical tradition. Hope you enjoy this song, the first tiny glimpse into our new opus. The beast is about to be unleashed..." More...

U.S. progressive/doom act While Heaven Wept have begun work on the band's follow up to the 2011 release "Fear of Infinity." Guitarist/vocalist Tom Phillips had the following update on the new material, which was conceived between 2009-2011:
I can reveal that we have completed the music for the follow-up to 'Fear Of Infinity' and will spend much of this year rehearsing with the intention of recording it in Autumn. It will consist of 10 brand new songs that were channelled between 2009-2011 (though one expression includes riffs dating back to 1995) and will surely once again challenge everyone’s notions of what While Heaven Wept is. While extremely melodic, heartfelt, and epic, it is (in Scott Loose’s words) 'intense and aggressive' – running the gamut from classic US Underground Metal to Melodic Thrash and passages of a more 'extreme' nature. Compared to 'Fear Of Infinity,' it has a very different atmosphere and is very much 'in your face' musically, yet clearly While Heaven Wept. For now, I just want to thank one and all for standing beside us as we roll into our 22nd year of existence. I assure you that we won’t slow down at all and some of our most exciting music yet is on the horizon! We hope to see all of you very soon on the road.More...

Attention old-school death metal fans, zombie/horror culture freaks and general savages... the debut full-length from Austrian deathsquad Zombie Inc. has arrived. "A Dreadful Decease" will see its North American release on Tuesday, February 14th via Massacre Records. The band also issued the following press release:
"ZOMBIE INC. may be a new name to the death metal scene, but some of the henchmen involved this gory, plodding debauchery will surely raise some interest... namely former Pungent Stench vocalist Martin Schirenc's return to the death metal scene! Schirenc's guttural oral thunder is brutally backed by guitars from songwriting mastermind Wolfgang Rothbauer (Disbelief, Eisblut, etc.) and Gerald Huber (Collapse 7), low-end from bassist Daniel Lechner (The Cascades, ex-Lacrimas Profundere) and the percussive onslaught of Tomasz “Nefastus” Janiszewski (Belphegor, Fleshcrawl, Debauchery).
"The individual potent collective of talents coalesce on ZOMBIE INC.'s debut, A Dreadful Decease, a gore-obsessed 41-minute stompfest loaded with the instinctive, intuitive and aggressive stylings of the death metal of the '90s, bringing names like Entombed, Autopsy, Dismember, Obituary, Deicide, Edge of Sanity and Gorefest to the chopping block. A Dreadful Decease runs rampant with horrific, apocalyptic zombie themes, both lyrically, atmospherically and visually, bearing professional artwork by SeasonZero Design. The album was recorded and mixed by Martin Schirenc at Vato Loco in Austria, and mastered by Dan Swanö (Edge of Sanity, Nightingale, Bloodbath) at Unisound in Sweden, who referred to the band as 'great music... old-school, the perfect way.'" Last year, Ken Mode released their finest effort yet, ‘Venerable,’ via a partnership with Profound Lore Records. ‘Venerable’ was heralded as one of the best and most intriguing albums of the year by fans and press outlets alike and Ken Mode’s live attack was labeled as one of the most powerful shows in recent memory by multiple press outlets.
"Now, Ken Mode and ‘Venerable’ are being honored by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences by being nominated for a Juno Award in the newly created ‘Metal / Hard Music Album of the Year’ category. KEN Mode is extremely honored and humbled to be nominated and will be on-hand at the awards on April 1st at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, Ontario. Other nominees include ANVIL, CAULDRON, DEVIN TOWNSEND and FUCK THE FACTS. The awards will be hosted by another (honorary) member of the metal community — WILLIAM SHATNER.
"Ken Mode is currently finishing an extensive European tour with KYLESA and CIRCLE TAKES THE SQUARE. Upon returning, the band will begin preparing their trip to Austin for this year’s South by Southwest festivities. Showcases will be announced in the near future, stay tuned for more information."
