Sunwalter Reveals "SETI Evidence" Details

This coming February 14th, 2013 Graillight Productions will be releasing the debut album from Moscow's Sunwalter, titled "SETI Evidence." The following press release was issued about the album:

"Take a little bit of classic heavy metal, add progressive melodies, then pour a pinch of romance in the form of a beautiful female vocals and keyboard arrangements. Then tuck the cocktail with sheer evil in the form of male screaming and growling, as well as melodic and rocking modern melodic death metal guitar riffs and futuristic electronic sketches - and... we get a hybrid of several styles of heavy music, containing a collection of all modern metal listener loves. Even an amateur of one musical direction, in most cases, will find something interesting in this music.

"'SETI Evidence' tells the story of what can happen beyond our planet in the near future. There are topical questions today about the existence of foreign life forms, and also dilutes in elements of science fiction. Although it may not all be fantasy?"

The track listing is as follows:

1. T.S.F. Report No. 1
2. Roswell Incident
3. Supernova
4. Nibiru
5. Rotten
6. Phantoms of Mars
7. Pandorum

Wintersun Comments On New Album "Time II"

After an 8 year wait, Wintersun fans finally saw the release of new album "Time I" (reviewed here) back in October of 2012. The band has now checked in with the following announcement about the follow-up album:

"Hi everyone! After some Festival- and Summer show announcements we thought we might also give you a heads up regarding TIME II.

"2012 was a really great year for us, the release of TIME I was a huge success and we did two successful tours and many sold out shows. But we are aiming even higher and take Wintersun to the next level in 2013! We have 3 official webstores up and running (Europe, Finland, North America) and we hope you guys like the available items. There´ll be constant updates and new products and we will also have interesting competitions and specials coming up on our pages, so be sure to check it all out.

"We are starting the mix of TIME II and it will be released early 2014. The album will continue where TIME I left, but it will be an upgrade in production, it will be equally epic, if not more. It will contain some 'fast stuff' and some guitar shredding (incl. 7 solos) like some of you metal heads and guitar wankers have been wishing for. It will also contain some of the most beautiful music ever written, that will bring a tear to your eye.

"We are playing some huge summer festivals in Finland and in EU (Incl. Tuska, Nummirock, Metalfest, Beastival, Hellfest...) and for the first time going to Spain. We are also taking part in EMMA GAALA ('Finnish Grammy') in March for the nomination of 'Best Metal Album of the Year.' We know it´s going to be an exciting year. It is because all of you who have supported us during the years, we have been able to grow and continue to do what we love.

"Thank you for all the support! Stay tuned for some further exciting live news soon! We hope to see all of you on the road and during the festival season 2013!"

I have wanted to work with Angel for a long time and so I am very excited to hear the final results! As soon as we get them in our paws I get to go in and throw down guitar, bass, and vocals. 'The Crazies' is one of the tracks on my shortlist to formally introduce everybody to Beauty In The Suffering's music. We're shooting for a spring release so fingers crossed! Thanks again for all the amazing support!

Drum tracking took place on January 30th at Redline Recording Studio in Venice, FL with engineering by Jason Schmidt. Commented Angel:

After spending the last 7 years writing and bringing in guest musicians for my Team Cybergeist project, it's cool to step off to the side and be a guest on someone elses track for a change. Plus it's a cool song, which made it even more fun to play on. I'm excited to see what Dietrich [Thrall] does with Beauty In The Suffering!

Katatonia To Release New Version Of Latest Album

Anders "Blakkheim" Nyström of Katatonia has revealed via his Facebook page that the band will be stripping down latest album "Dead End Kings" (reviewed here) into a new atmospheric/acoustic version. Anders comments:

"Just done with stripping down the 'Dead End Kings' album to an atmospheric sound void of any metal. Early on we felt it was both peculiar and interesting how the songs could breathe on their own taking a different minimal approach, so we wanted to go back and explore this in a very spontaneous and unpretentious way.

"Vocals, keyboards and acoustic guitars are in and distorted guitars/bass and drums are out! Stay tuned for a release date!

"And from one big project to another... the next upcoming weeks I'll be spending diggin' into old boxes and transferring ancient VHS cassettes and DV tapes to digital media, so we can finally get goin' on the actual edit on the documentary that will hopefully wrap up the anniversary DVD that's been taken forevah! Have a good weekend!"
