Old Wounds Streaming "New Fortunes"

Pitchfork is presenting the exclusive premiere of "New Fortunes," a song off Old Wounds' upcoming album, "From Where We Came Is Where We'll Rest." Listen to the song at this location.

Pitchfork's Grayson Currin calls the song "an ironically named burst from New Jersey crossover aggressors Old Wounds that's actually about being so heartbroken you set the world on fire. The trio emerges irate here, lashing ahead at a furious hardcore clip alongside screams about tears and disappointment, selfishness and heartlessness... 'New Fortunes' pairs the maudlin pages of high school diaries with a grown-ass band's concision and power."

"From Where We Came Is Where We'll Rest" was recorded by Kevin Bernsten at Developing Nations (Pulling Teeth, Full of Hell) and mastered by Dan Randall at Mammoth Sound (Magrudergrind, Toxic Holocaust). Out February 26th on Glory Kid Ltd, the album can be pre-ordered now.

Old Wounds hit the road in March for a full U.S. tour that sees the group team up with Full of Hell, Vices, and more, along with a couple of shows with Cro-Mags and Ringworm. More...

Blodarv Announces DVD Release

Blodarv will be releasing the new live DVD "A Doorway Between Worlds." The following press release was issued about the upcoming DVD:

"It’s not easy for 'underground' bands to release DVD’s. Without major labels behind them who have money to invest in their roster, it’s pretty much a dream for the majority of bands, no matter how much demand there is from fans who are weary of trying to watch their favourite bands on YouTube, at the mercy of the vagaries of their internet connections and with poor sound quality. So Danish Black Metallers BLODARV have taken matters into their own hands, and released a DVD themselves, but in a format that self-financing would permit: DVD-r.

"Titled 'A Doorway Between Worlds' Chapter 1, the DVD contains videos for tracks from Blodarv’s albums 'Soulcollector,' 'Linaria Amlech,' 'Civitas Diaboli,' and the newly released 'Gâst,' as well as a live recording from their show at Club Brutal, in Aarhus Denmark, filmed in December of last year. The DVD will be available exclusively through the band’s webshop at this location."

The videos featured on the “A Doorway Between Worlds," which is DVD player and PC compatible and is limited to 666 hand-numbered copies, are as follows:

1. A Snowy Night In November (Music Video)
2. I Blaek Og Blod (Music Video)
3. Blood red Rocks (Live Video)

Sodom Issues More Details On New LP

German legendary thrash act Sodom recently announced the impending drop of the band's new studio album "Epitome Of Torture" on April 26, 2013 (GER), April 29, 2013 (EU) and May 7, 2013 (US). Now the band reveals a little more about the release:

"In recent months, vocalist/bassist Tom Angelripper, guitarist Bernemann and their new drummer Markus “Makka” Freiwald recorded a total of twelve new tracks (plus a Motörhead cover) which present Sodom as more diverse and multi-faceted than ever. 'Epitome Of Torture features not only your typical Sodom fare, but also two or three numbers which are slightly more moderate and melodic than what people have come to expect from us,' Tom Angelripper explains, 'so wait and see!'

"'Epitome Of Torture' was produced by Waldemar Sorychta, whose expertise as a sound engineer and audio magician thoroughly benefited Sodom’s 2010 release 'In War And Pieces.' Tom Angelripper [commented]: 'Waldemar is a true authority. He doesn’t let you get away with anything, he knows all our weak spots. Which occasionally makes working at the studio a little demanding, but at the end of the day it’s all worthwhile, as the result shows.' The Sodom frontman describes the sound on 'Epitome Of Torture' as 'hard-as-nails and contemporary, without ignoring our tried-and-tested old-school attitude.'

"The new album will be available in four different formats: as a limited-edition DigiPak including two bonus tracks and a poster, in a regular jewel case, as a double gatefold vinyl including three bonus tracks and for download. The cover artwork featuring Sodom‘s popular 'Knarrenheinz' logo was developed by graphic designer Meran Karanitant, who has caused a stir with his work for Six Feet Under, Hatebreed and Dimmu Borgir, among others. Negura Bunget Splits With Keyboardist, Vocalist

Romania's Negura Bunget has checked in with the following announcement about parting ways with keyboardist Inia Dinia and vocalist Chakravartin:

"With a sad heart we have to announce that another major chapter in the history of Negura Bunget has ended. Long time member Inia Dinia is no longer part of the band. It was her decision alone to leave Negura Bunget in pursuit of other musical and personal paths and we can't but respect her choice. We thank her for everything she put in the band over the years and hope her musical path will only grow further in the future.

"In related context singer Chakravartin is also no longer member of Negura Bunget. Different personal and musical reasons untangled our paths. We wish his good luck as well on their future endeavors! Even more changes within the band are likely to occur as well in the near future.

"As things happened a bit unexpected our plans for the immediate future, namely an EP as presentation of the new album, and a Southern European tour in April/May, are hanging in the air for the moment. We will make a decision about everything in the following days.

"This is definitely a hard moment for what remains of the band, but what does not kill you only makes you stronger. I hope we'll find within ourselves the wisdom to shape the right path for the future of Negura Bunget.

"Obviously we are now looking for some dedicate musicians to complete the line-up of the band, so if you feel you have what it takes to be part of Negura Bunget, please get in contact with us by contact@negurabunget.com."
