Following a recent trio of Southern California gigs, Tucson heathens Godhunter will embark on the second leg of a three-pronged Winter live assault this Wednesday, with four shows across the band's home state pending. The final offensive of the tour will engulf the first half of March as Godhunter forges through the Southwestern and Gulf Coast regions on its way to raid SXSW.
Moshpit Tragedy recently re-released Godhunter’s "Wolves" EP digitally, and will also be handling the digital sales of the act’s upcoming "City Of Dust" LP later in the year. The proceeds from these digital sales are being donated to Cedar Row Farm Sanctuary located in Stratford, Ontario.
The band will enter Arcane Digital Studios in Chandler, Arizona (Exhumed, Misery Index, Phobia) this Summer with producer Ryan Butler (Landmine Marathon, Unruh) to record "City Of Dust," a concept album about life and death in a decaying desert shithole of a hometown. More...
Texas thrash heavyweights Warbeast are pleased to reveal the upcoming release date for their full-length album, "Destroy."
The new album, produced by Philip H. Anselmo and engineered by Stephen "The Big Fella" Berrigan, will hit stores and digital retailers on April 2nd, 2013 via Housecore Records. "Destroy" was recorded at Nodferatu's Lair in May and July 2012 and mixed by Anselmo and Berrigan.
The album artwork and concept were designed by “Carcass” John Fossum with graphic and technical adviser John Deleon. Check out the art below.

Legendary U.S. metal act Warlord, featuing Bill Tsamis (Lordian Guard), Mark Zonder (Ex-Fates Warning) and Rick Anderson a/k/a Damien King III (Martiria), posted a twenty minute preview video for the band's upcoming new album "The Holy Empire." Progressive death metal act Persefone has inked a worldwide record deal with Swedish label ViciSolum Productions. The new album “Spiritual Migration” is set for release this coming March 29th, 2013.
"Spiritual Migration" is Persefone’s 4th album and was mixed by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Pretty Maids, Mercenary, Pestilence, Destruction etc.), at Hansen Studios in Denmark, and is a portrait of all the emotions the band has gone through within the first decade of its existence. The charges stem from a 2010 incident when a 19 year old fan was allegedly pushed off the stage and subsequently died several weeks later. Blythe was previously held in a Czech jail for over a month before being released on bail. He also commented today via Instagram:

French experimental, cat-obsessed act Pryapisme has released a trailer for the new album "Hyperblast Super Collider," due out on April 1st, 2013 via Apathia Records. Check out the clip below.
Trivium is currently holed up in a house in Texas working on the band's sixth album (and fifth for Roadrunner).

New York death metal band In the Casket has decided to part ways after five years as a band. The band cited creative differences as the reason for the breakup.
The band started out playing throughout the capital district of New York and branched out to playing shows all over the Northeast, opening for many bands including Dying Fetus, Municipal Waste, 3 Inches of Blood, Watain, Macabre, Lock Up, Jungle Rot, Obituary, Deicide, Fleshgod Apocalypse just to name a few. In The Casket self-released an EP titled "You Could Get Hit by a Truck" in July of 2012, which is available on ReverbNation, iTunes, Amazon MP3, CDBaby, and the Google Play store.
In The Casket vocalist Shawn Rosko has started a new band called Temple of Set, which consists of Shawn on vocals, Jeff Caro (Shovelhead, Ton of Bricks) on guitar, Mike Shudt (Flat Broke, Last Call, Ton of Bricks) on bass, and Kyle Yager (Shovelhead, Ton of Bricks) on drums. The new project is a unique mix of thrash, black metal, and death metal.
Temple of Set will be recording an EP in the coming months and has some upcoming shows planned within the next few months. More information about Temple of Set can be found on the band's Facebook and Twitter profiles.
After streaming the new track "Elephant in the Room" online, Kenyan act Last Year's Tragedy has now posted a music video online for the song "Generation Light." Check out the video below.

New England's Within the Ruins has debuted a brand new lyric video today for track "Feeding Frenzy." Check out the clip below. Vocalist Tim Goergen weighs in on the new track:

West Coast ethereal doom trio Ides of Gemini pleased and honored to announce a full tour this Spring supporting Ghost.
Dubbed the "Haze Across North America" 2013 tour, the three-week run will commence on April 18th in Denver, Colorado, with additional Ides of Gemini headlining dates to be announced in the coming weeks.
The jaunt follows the band’s month-long trek through Europe last Fall and an opening slot with sound revolutionaries Neurosis in January. Ides of Gemini will be touring in support of "Constantinople," released stateside via Neurot Recordings last Spring. More...
Germany's crushing extreme metal act Neaera will release new album "Ours Is The Storm" on March 5th, 2013 via Metal Blade Records.
The band has now posted a teaser video to promote an upcoming headlining tour. Check it out below, and find a list of tour dates after the jump.
Recording for the new Nervosa album officially commenced on January 26th, 2013. The production, recording, mixing, and mastering will be handled by Heros Trench and Pompeu, who are both in the band Korzus. The production will take place in the traditional studio Mr. Som, in which Nervosa recorded the band's first EP, "2012," last year. This new material will be released via Napalm Records.
Singer and bassist Fernanda Lira comments: "We really liked the result we were able to reach with them for our EP and there was no reason that could stop us from keeping such a high quality work. We are really anxious to record it and, obviously, to show our new songs to the people who keep up with our work!"
"With these new songs the band will show a more original identity, once it has 100% of participation of Fernanda Lira on the songwriting. The natural maturing will be evident on this CD, which we are more than excited to record and release," comments Prika Amaral, the band's guitar player.

Moonspell has issued the following announcement about upcoming tour dates with Swallow the Sun:

German Legacy magazine included an exclusive 4-track compilation CD of "The Big Teutonic 4" in issue no. 82 that included brand new cover versions of heavy metal classics by Iron Maiden and Motorhead.
Now, Germany’s “Big 4” – namely thrash legends Kreator, Tankard, Destruction, and Sodom - will also release this tribute in the form of a 10” mini LP. Swedish melodic metal band Stonelake is streaming the new track "End This War." The song appears on the band's forthcoming sixth studio release entitled "Monolith," which is due for release via Massacre Records on March 22, 2013.

Swedish melodic death metal act Amon Amarth announced that former Candlemass/Memento Mori vocalist Messiah Marcolin will be a guest vocalist on the band's new LP.
The band revealed the following picture from the studio sessions with Marcolin, simply stating "Our friend Messiah Marcolin came by the studio today!"

New York traditional metal act M-16 posted a preview clip from the band's upcoming reissue of the 1988 debut "Locked & Loaded." Dubbed "Locked & Reloaded," the reissue will contain the original eight tracks as well as two unreleased demo tracks. The band split in 1989 and has since reformed in 2007. The reissue is expected soon from Heaven & Hell Records.

Taiwanese melodic black metal act Chthonic posted the first two installments of the band's studio diary video series on the recordings of the band's new, yet untitled, LP and follow up to the critically acclaimed 2011 release "Takasago Army" (see Metal Underground.com's review over here). The new release is being recorded in Sweden and is expected for release in June 2013 through Spinefarm Records.

Connecticut deathcore act Bonded Through Hate is streaming the new track "Killing is My Name." The song appears on the forthcoming debut EP "Doomsday: The Rise of Valhalla," which is due out soon from Ear One Productions.

Alabama based group Erra has posted the following announcement online about gearing up to record a new album:
"This Saturday we begin production on our brand new full-length album. We will be slaving away in the studio for 5 weeks. We are doing this album with Brian Hood at 456 Recordings, the same engineer that we did 'Impulse' with.
"We are so proud of these songs, and have so much faith in what they are going to do to further push us along in our musical career. Guitarist/composer Jon Durant has teamed up with Porcupine Tree bassist Colin Edwin for the new ambient project Burnt Belief. Now that the the project's self-titled album is unleashed, I got in touch with Durant to dive into the history between the two musicians and how this release came together.
Drawing inspiration from the book "When Prophecy Fails" and the idea of exploring how people react when their deeply held beliefs don't pan out, Burnt Belief is an introspective journey relying solely on instrumentation and photography to get its ideas across.
