Worm Hole Death has announced the signing of IVS Primae, whose members are currently locked away in their headquarters in Rome (QUADRARO BASEMENT) to create their debut album under the label.
Formed in Roma, July 2006, Ivs Primae Noctis is the industrial / blackmetal / ambient project born from the collaboration between the producers Lou Chano and Rough and the hc/electro/noise screamo performer Miss Violetta Beauregarde. The band is also known in the underground scene for the bloody gore acts made together with the suspension/fakir crew Freaks Bloody Tricks.
The band stated: "The purpose is to push to the extreme the most obscure, depressive and nihilistic influences of each member of the crew. The project developes with the help and support of numerous external collaborations such as Kommander L., Wertham, Fuzzy, A. Julius, F. Conte, Lvpvs Infestvs, Metal Carter, Scarful..."

The Funeral Pyre has issued the following recording studio update:
"So, we have 8 songs tracked (drums only) and are shooting for the end of this week to wrap all of the drums up. Then, we'll start the guitars and proceed from there. I can give you two song titles, one of which we've played live, 'Vultures' and 'Monolith' are two tracks that will be on the record. We're still mulling over what the name of the record will be... We're not sure when it will be released, but that news is to come."
Canadian metal band Thine Eyes Bleed has issued the following update:
"First and foremost we are still a band and have not called it a day. Our biggest task in doing this was to once again find the right 5th man. We have had a rotating guitarist for far too long. Don't get me wrong we have been fortunate in having some talented people fill the slot. When we began putting the wheels back on the truck, so to speak, we made the decision to find someone closer to home, both musically and regionally."
"Jimmy Reid will always be our brother. We love and miss him and have nothing but respect for him. That being said we have found someone else to fill the void. With that we welcome Nigel Curley (Excruciating Thoughts, Ataxia) into the mix. We been jamming with Nigel for the past few months and working on new stuff. We have a bunch of new material ready to go." More...
Connecticut's Wrench in the Works has posted a new song on their MySpace page entitled "Project AK-47."
The band comments on the origin and lyrics of the song, "This past Cornerstone Festival we learned about the ministry Project AK-47 (bases in TN) and what they are all about. It really just hit close to home for us as a band and we felt a Godly calling to support them and bring awareness to people. Even to the point of us writing a song called 'Project AK-47' on our new record which is inspired about the ministry."
"Basically the calling Project AK-47 has is to save child soldiers in southeast Asia(over 300,000 kids) who have been kidnapped, orphaned or deceitfully recruited to serve as soldiers in government armies or drug cartels. For $7 you can save a child through this ministry. Just think about what you were doing at age 7 or your little brother or sister or nephew or niece and then think about yourself or them training with a machine gun. To have your freedom taken away and to be forced to into oppression. It makes my stomach turn to think about what these kids go through in the fear they must face everyday. Love Jesus or hate Jesus you still can't deny that this is wrong and needs change."
Citing personal differences between the 2 parties, Chicago-based deathcore act Oceano has parted ways with guitarist Andrew Mikhail. Sweden's Los Sin Nombre has issued the following update about appearing at the Linköping Metal Massacre 4 festival:
"Los Sin Nombre can proudly say that we are booked for the festival. It will be incredibly fun to play in our hometown again. We know we have a large fan base here, so we expect full houses, much beer and many metal heads. Other bands that are booked (more to come soon) Hardcore Superstars, The Haunted, Bullet, Algiaon, and Abramis Brama. Hope to see you there."
More information on the festival can be found at this location.
Megadeth front man Dave Mustaine has issued the following update about the band's upcoming activity:
"Droogies! For the last few weeks I have been telling you about a huge project coming up. Well, yesterday I submitted our work for approval and it was approved, so very soon we will be able to say 'what' this very big announcement is. Rest assured it involves a new song that I have just recently written, with more co-writing from Chris Broderick. It's another aggressive, complicated Megadeth track, and I will give you more details as soon as I can. I was looking at the top 100 albums on Amazon in the Thrash category and we have 16 records in the Top 100 on their site. What a great feeling!
"You also no doubt saw all of the tour dates coming in for 2010, which promises to be an extensive touring year. We are planning on (in no particular order - but this is close) doing the R.I.P. tour all of March with our dear friends in Exodus and Testament, which is progressing, then to South America in April, then Europe in June and early July, then Canada in late July, then the States in August with Slayer, then back to the Pacific Rim after that and HOPEFULLY Australia and New Zealand again. We are trying to make our "Pac Rim Tours" always include New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, South Korea.
"Hopefully we will soon be playing in China (and surrounding areas like Hong Kong, Taipei, and Taiwan), and also in Malaysia (of course we would need the government's permission because we have been banned from playing in Malaysia because of a Satanic ritual where someone painted Megadeth at a crime scene and the government blamed us and banned us). More to follow..."
Vocalist Mat Maurer of Australia's Mortal Sin has issued the following update about the band working on new material:
"To all our fans, sorry I have not been on here in a while, it's been a busy couple of months since we got back from our South American tour, which was very satisfying but incredibly hard. Many thanks to all the metalheads who came to our shows, you made us feel very welcome and supported our music way more than we could have ever imagined. Thank you. To all the organizers, promoters and town folk, we really appreciate all the work you put into making the tour a success for Mortal Sin. We certainly hope we can make our way back to your beautiful countries again sometime soon!
"2010 arrived and Mortal Sin decided it was about fucking time we got our arses into gear and started writing some songs for a new album. We are notoriously slow writers, but many of you who may have heard the new song 'Deny' that we have been road testing at our shows, will agree that we could be onto something special here. Like many thrash bands we feel strongly about our thrash roots and want to create an album of pure thrash. If we could combine Kreator's 'Hordes of Chaos,' Testament's 'Formation of the Damnation' and Overkill's newie 'Ironbound' into a huge melting pot, that would be the kind of album we wanna make!! Greek thrashers Suicidal Angels have issued the following post-tour recap:
"Back from the Kataklysm tour...and back from the European blizzards! After a couple of days of relaxation, we are finally socially active again! It was a tiresome month for us, exciting as it may was.
"With this statement, we would like to thank and salute all the bands that gave us the honor of sharing the stage with them. Resistance from Belgium, our newly found brothers in arms from the U.S. Darkest Hour, the black/death masters extraordinaire Belphegor, and the Canadian death storm Kataklysm. All in all, was an amazing tour, full of important experiences for us, with ups and downs, but we managed to pull it off successfully. We were up on stage every night, bringing chaos along with you, the most important part of this tour, the fans. And here, we'd like to thank all of you crazy thrashers (and not) out there, that cheered for us and supported us in every way possible. More...

Benediction has issued the following update about recruiting Nicholas Barker as their touring drummer:
"Well, we start gigging again soon but there will be a slight change in line up for this years dates. Neil Hutton will not be drumming with us this year (except for Saturday may 1st show in London with Bolt Thrower where he will be behind the kit). As personal reasons dictate that he is unable to do so. So as usual we have dragged in our good friend Nicholas Barker to smash the kit up behind us. Nick has been a close friend for years and has shared the stage with us on numerous occasions over the last decade. Nicholas will be banned from doing blast beats with us though !!!!! So turn up and enjoy the shows this year."
Former Kyuss singer John Garcia has announced that he'll be touring and playing Kyuss songs. Since Kyuss, Garcia's musical projects include Sloburn, Unida and John's most recent band Hermano, plus side projects with The Crystal Method, Danko Jones and countless others who embraced the singer from the Southern California desert.
Why? Kyuss, the inventors of Desert Rock, have been in the last ten years much more popular than when they were still around in the early nineties. So, due to massive public demand over the years to play songs from his old cult band Kyuss, John finally made the decision to give the fans what they want. He will do this unique project with a few hand selected musicians.
The last couple of years John Garcia thought often about reviving his Kyuss-legacy on stage. The more he thought about it, the more he really wanted to do this. John commented: "I don't want to do this just for myself, but especially for the fans. Both for the ones that have seen Kyuss live back in the days, and especially for the ones who haven't had that chance. This could be as close as they could get to the real thing. Please bear in mind that this could be a one-off unique opportunity!"
So that being said, the Garcia Plays Kyuss-project (alias GPK) was born. Garcia, accompanied by these fine selection of musicians, Bruno Fevery (guitar), Jacques de Haard (bass) and Rob Snijders (drums), will head out to play all Kyuss set.
John Garcia (born in San Manuel, Arizona, September 4, 1970) is a vocalist who has been a member of Kyuss, Slo Burn, Unida and Hermano. His vocals have become synonymous with modern stoner rock and the desert rock sound. While still in high school, Garcia help start Kyuss (originally known as Sons of Kyuss) in 1989 with guitarist Josh Homme. The band produced five albums in total, all of which featured Garcia on vocals.
In October 1995, just three months after releasing what could be argued as their breakthrough album "...And The Circus Leaves Town" (thanks to MTV airplay), Kyuss broke up. Their last recording was a 10" vinyl on the now defunct label Man's Ruin Records, which was later re-released on a split CD with Homme's soon to be famous project Queens of the Stone Age. The band has been on an indefinite hiatus ever since and has reached a legendary status, influencing thousands of new young (rock)bands. Read more about Kyuss and check out some videos in our recent "Sunday Old School" feature.
Here's a video announcement from Garcia:

The Ocean's upcoming two albums are going to be entitled "Heliocentric" and "Anthropocentric." They are due for April and October 2010 releases. The concept at the base of both albums is a critique of Christianity from different philosophical and personal angles.
While the songs, art and lyrics of Heliocentric tell the story of the rise of the heliocentric world view and its effects on Christian belief from medieval times to Darwin and Dawkins, "Anthropocentric" challenges the views of creationists and other modern fundamentalists who still believe that the earth is at the center of the universe.
