PUNISHMENT 18 RECORDS has announced signing of Italian thrash metal band Endovein for the release and distribution of their yet-titled debut album. Endovein, who is currently recording in studio, plays a really fast thrash metal characterized by techno thrash influences as in the latest years of the 80s. Stay tuned for more details!
Check out some of the band's music on the official Endovein Myspace page.
Megadeth front man Dave Mustaine has revealed in his latest audio blog that the band has commenced filming a video for the song "The Right To Go Insane." Mustaine issued the following statement:
"I'm here at the video shoot [Thursday, February 25] in South El Monte. We just got done filming some footage of a M60 Abram Tank which was fantastic, and the cops are here so will do pretty hairy with this video shoot. I don't know what's going to happen from this point forward, but man we're excited. David Ellefson is here; it's the first video with this band again and we're doing The Right To Go Insane."
PUNISHMENT 18 RECORDS has announced the disbandment of the Italian metal band Exence. This is the official statement by the band in their native language:
Saluti, EXENCE."
Which Google translates roughly to:
"After a long period of low activity and reflection on the future direction to be taken to the exencia have decided to disband and close albeit suffered this cycle that began back in 2000. Currently are missing the necessary leverage to pursue a project with due spirit and enthusiasm. Condition is therefore sufficient to stop the run, temporarily or permanently. We warmly thank all those who believed in us, who have supported us over the years and those who have shared the stage with us, they were 10 years of small and less small satisfactions and above 10 years where we have put passion into what we made. I very much hope that our newly released album may leave something to some of you would be the greatest satisfaction. Regards, exencia. "
That's a pretty rough translation, but I think you get the point. For further details please check out the Exence Official Myspace.

Kayo Dot has broken the mold for their new album, "Coyote," in which they nearly leave out the guitar. "Coyote" is due April 6 on Hydra Head.
The Village Voice describes the band's latest effort:
"Coyote is a 40-minute narrative composition that swirls with cooing violins, whining trumpets, jangling xylophones, and haunting blasts of cosmic debris--easily their most cohesive, heavy-hitting and best album yet. Influenced by early '80s goth and Herbie Hancock's more psychedelic excursions, Coyote is a mini-suite that's at once punishing, sad and gloriously free."
Here's the tracklist for "Coyote":
I. Calonyction Girl
II. Whisper Ineffable
III. Abyss Hinge 1: Sleeping Birds Sighing In Roscolux
IV. Abyss Hinge 2: The Shrinking Armature
V. Cartogram Out Of Phase

Deron Miller of death metal act World Under Blood has issued the following update about the band's new album:
"Hi... Tonight i have finalized the song titles for our first album! I have finished the lyrics for all of the songs; I have a decent idea for what I am going to do vocally next week. Some of what I have done is pretty disturbing, but i am satisfied. I fly out to Tampa tomorrow to meet up with the legendary Mr. Murphy to complete this album once and for all!
"This album is brutal. These days, a lot of bands are judged by their technicality, and often that is seen as 'heavier.' I agree to an extent, but the only problem is that the more technical a band is lately, the more that specific "song" loses. We could have done a record that was 20 notes per second, because every member of world under blood is capable of that. But on this record, we pretty much said 'lets make sure the songs are amazing' I know they are. I have made sure and will make sure that they all turn out the way they were meant to be and certainly nothing less.
"My only regret is that i mentioned this project too prematurely. Some of you have been waiting for this since as early as November 2006. Back then i was very ambitious and i expected to have it out in due time...Apparently in November 2006 i believed that there were many more hours than 24 in a single day. Plain and simple, i was excited to release a metal record. Finally, this is the track listing, but not in order."
1. Dead and still in pain
2. Under the autumn low
3. A god among the waste
5. I can't stand his name
6. Into the arms of cruelty
7. Revere's tears
8. Purgatory dormitory
9. Wake up dead
10. Alliance or war...(bonus)

19 years after their last album, “Victims Of Deception,” Bay Area thrashers Heathen return with “The Evolution Of Chaos.” The album shows the band drawing heavily from their earlier sound, with a few modern touches here and there. Loaded with guest musicians and brimming with intensity, Heathen’s third studio album is an early candidate for many “Best-Of” lists at the end of the year. I recently had the opportunity to speak to vocalist David White about the new album, how it felt to write new material after a long hiatus, and the most underrated Heathen song. More...

New York and Texas based death metal band The Famine has issued the following update regarding a recent fire at their studio:
"Hey guys, Our studio DID burn down with all of our gear and and everything pertaining to The Famine early Thursday morning. It almost took our engineer Travis with it as well but fortunately he made it out alive, but basically that was all that made it out. We lost all of the studio gear as well and all of the material we had been working on in preparation for the new release."
Formed by Ryan Lipynsky (the artist formerly known as Killusion, also of UNEARTHLY TRANCE of course) after the demise of USBM band THRALLDOM, and now in conspiracy with drummer Tim Call (ALDEBARAN), THE HOWLING WIND have completed work on their new album “Into The Cryosphere.”
Following the band’s “Pestilence & Peril” debut, THE HOWLING WIND's “Into The Cryosphere” takes cue from such legends as CELTIC FROST/HELLHAMMER, BATHORY, old-school DARKTHRONE, and AUTOPSY, while harboring a pedigree seeped within occult nature and lore. Overall, “Into The Cryosphere” is “a depiction of the fall of humanity reflected through a sheet of ice,” says the label.
To be released late April via Profound Lore Records, the tracklisting for “Into The Cryosphere” goes as follows:
1. The Seething Wrath Of A Frigid Soul
2. Teeth Of Frost
3. Obscured Pyramid
4. Ice Cracking In The Abyss
5. Will Is The Only Fire Under An Avalanche
6. Impossible Eternity

Danish folk metallers Svartsot are set to release their new album "Mulmets Viser" via Napalm Records on March 26th, 2010. The new song "Aethelred" off the upcoming album can currently be heard through the band's MySpace page. Svartsot has also issued the following track-by-track break down of the album:
"Mulmets Viser - Songs of the Darkness: Darkness falls and another day’s toil has come to an end. Tables of food are borne out from the feasting hall and horns filled with golden ale handed round. Then begins the telling of legends and singing of verse; tales of noble heroes and mighty kings, great feats and hard-fought battles, songs of life and death, of drinking and feasting, ballads of buxom wenches and wanton maids and myths of mystical beings who work their evil enchantment upon the lives of men. The skalds tales continue until all have drunk more than their fill...
"Æthelred: The album’s first track is about the English king Æthelred II (the Unready or Ill-advised) and his ascension to the throne. In the 10th Century his kingdom was constantly raided and harassed by the Vikings and after losing a number of conflicts he resorted to paying the Danegeld: offering the Danes 10,000 pounds of silver to go away. This merely encouraged them to return on more and more occasions to collect greater and greater sums. More...

The official Symphony X MySpace page has been updated with the following information about the band's upcoming album:
"Spoke to Mike today, and he sounded really happy about the progress that the band's making on the new cd. ‘Technically, we could be done’ he said. ‘I put together some pre-production mixes for us to listen to, and it's all solid. We have over an hour of really good stuff that we really dig; there's more than enough stuff there that we can choose the best songs to go on the CD, but all of the songs are really strong. And there are two almost-done songs that we're going to try to wrap up in the next few days as well, one is shaping up to be 10 minutes plus; it's really cool stuff that we gotta use.’ He and Russell have started working through lyrics, and the band plans to start tracking in early March. ‘I think everyone will like it’ he said, ‘it has a little bit of everything.’"
Psychometry has issued the following update about recruiting Cory Salemi as their new touring drummer:
