Dublin based doom trio Dread Sovereign has unveiled details for an upcoming debut full-length album.
Subsequent to last year's "Pray To The Devil In Man" 12", the band headed to the studio last Autumn to work on the follow-up release. The resulting ten track beast of a record, entitled "All Hell's Martyrs," will be released by Ván Records in March 2014. Vocalist and bass player, Nemtheanga commented:
"Things come together fast on the surface but the Dread Sovereign album has been dwelling in my subconscious for years, playing riffs to myself over the years. It's only in the last fifteen months that I've put flesh on the bones with a proper band and here we are with an album ready for Ván Records to release. The aspirations are difficult to explain as it's been a form of catharsis to finally get the demons out after all this time but here it is; some gnarled and evil old school doom/metal -- a few surprises and different elements here and there -- but nothing more and nothing less."
Recorded and mixed at Dublin's Sun Studios in September 2013, "All Hell's Martyrs" is a sepulchral trawl through the darkest recesses of heavy metal. The album artwork was created by Costin Chioreanu, whose previous credits include Grave, Darkthrone, Aura Noir and Absu. The album's track listing is as follows:
1. Drink The Wine
2. Thirteen Clergy

Iron Bonehead Productions has set May 16th as the international release date for Landskap's debut album, "I." The following press release was also issued:
"Although widely known for plumbing the filthiest excesses of the metal underground, Iron Bonehead is no stranger to doom. And now, the label unveils a towering, black-magickal tome of ultra-doom majesty: Landskap's I.
"Hailing from the UK, the five-piece Landskap is heavily influenced by late '60s and early '70s rock and early doom bands, and features members from bands such as SerpentCult / Thee Plague Of Gentlemen, Fen, Pantheist, Dead Existence, Father Sun, and Skaldic Curse.
"Landskap was formed in 2012 when George Pan and Frederic Caure met in a London pub on a rainy day in November. Sharing a mutual passion for music, both soon started jamming with Paul Westwood on drums. The first six months were spent just jamming to 'get the groove going.' In the summer of 2013, the band decided to write a few songs out of the jams, and were joined by Kostas Panagiotou on organ and keyboards and Jake Harding on vocals. The result is Landskap's debut album, simply titled I, a slowly entrancing, utterly bewitching work of true doom alchemists."
The track listing is as follows:
Side A, 1. A Nameless Fool
Side A, 2. My Cabin in the Woods
Side B, 3. Fallen So Far
Side B, 4. To Harvest the Storm More...

After being arrested in May of 2013 for attempting to hire an undercover police agent to murder his estranged wife, Tim Lambesis (Austrian Death Machine, As I Lay Dying) is now going to be serving up to nine years in jail, according to an update from NBC San Diego.
An excerpt from the news site reads:
The singer of the Grammy-nominated Christian metal band "As I Lay Dying" pleaded guilty to his role in a murder-for-hire plot.
Carlsbad resident Tim Lambesis entered the change of plea in court Tuesday, admitting that he hired a hit man to kill his estranged wife. As a result of his change of plea, Lambesis will serve nine years according to a court clerk.
It's not clear yet if the "9 years" referenced in the article was a maximum or the official amount of time for a plea deal, as Lambesis has not had an official sentencing hearing yet. Further info will be forthcoming.
Despite Lambesis' arrest, Austrian Death Machine continued on with the crowd funded third album "Triple Brutal," which is set for release on April 1st. Following the band's recent appearance on the inaugural voyage of the "Progressive Nation at Sea" cruise, Anathema has announced a U.S. tour for March as special guests of Finland's HIM.
The tour marks just the second proper North American run for the acclaimed group. Commented lead guitarist/vocalist Daniel Cavanagh:
"Anathema is delighted to return to the United States as special guests of our personal friends Ville Valo and HIM. It's always a great occasion playing with our Finnish mates - as we've known each other's music for many years and have been sharing stages together on a number of occasions since our main support to them in the UK for 'Dark Light' in 2006. To do this in the United States, the birthplace of rock and roll and one of Anathema's true musical and spiritual homes, is just a fantastic prospect - especially so soon after our first headlining tour last autumn which was a success beyond our expectations. We hope to really provoke a strong reaction from the audience, and I'm sure we will perform a song or two from our brand new album, which is being finished as I write. HIM in the USA? Bring it on!"

Emerging Norwegian hardcore band Barren Womb has debuted a new song, “Will you be God’s art or Satan’s graffiti?” taken from forthcoming album, "The Sun’s Not Yellow, It’s Chicken." Check it out below thanks to RevolverMag.com.
The new record, due out on March 11th via Spartan Records, will be available digitally and on limited edition vinyl that can be pre-ordered now at this location.
“"Will you be God's art or Satan's graffiti?" had already been with us on the road for a while when it came time to lay music to tape, but both the title and the lyrics got nailed just a couple of weeks before recording,” explains Barren Womb’s drummer/vocalist Timo Silvola. “Angry at corporations like Nestlé for the water war or Monsanto with their GMO monopoly scheme, I wondered how someone could stretch so far beyond evil. And could it just be for money and power? Is it the system? While politicians stand idly by and we the consumers keep turning the other cheek, we doom ourselves to someone else's profit.”

Finnish doom-death heavyweights Kuolemanlaakso today stream the entirety of forthcoming second album, "Tulijoutsen" (reviewed here).
Cavalera Conspiracy - the band featuring metal brothers Max and Igor Cavalera - is currently in the mixing stage for a third album and the band's first for new label home Napalm Records.
The band is working with producer John Gray (Soulfly) and plans on having the record ready for release in Fall of 2014. Members of the band and producer John Gray took some time to give an update on the recording process. Gray comments:
"This is by far the fastest and heaviest record I have ever had the pleasure of working on with Max Cavalera. Max, Igor and Marc were on the same page musically from the moment they walked in the door, and recording this album was a very smooth process. I had never worked with Igor Cavalera before and I was very impressed with his ability to work out the arrangements with Max and get some extremely complex drum parts done live with hardly any re-takes necessary.
"Marc Rizzo, as always, was spot-on and a true guitar virtuoso. I love to work with Marc because he always pushes himself to perfection, but he is very down to earth and keeps things light when he's under pressure. What can I say about Nate Newton- he killed it on the bass tracks with very little back and forth. I'm really impressed with his talent, and I look forward to meeting him someday." More...

After announcing the band was working on a new album last year, The Electric Hellfire Club has now nailed down a record deal for the release.
Frozen North Records (via Arctic Music) is extremely honored to announce the signing of The Electric Hellfire Club for the iconic band's first new album release in over a decade.
This new studio album will be titled "Tech Noir" and will be a conceptual, double-album release, which is currently in pre-production. Says EHC frontman/vocalist/ringleader Reverend Thomas Thorn:
"Tech Noir is the album every EHC fan has imagined might someday come to be: a dark journey heralding a return to the electro roots and musical diversity the band was originally known for. This is our Magnum Opus - a high voltage symphony that will leave no doubt the Black Flame still burns. While forces conspired to tear us apart and I once bitterly declared that Ravensbrück and I would re-unite to write new chapters in the EHC saga only 'when Hell freezes over,' that denunciation has become prophecy. That time is now. The spiritual current of arcane energy we call Electric Hellfire is flowing again. Hell has frozen over."
Evocation has released a short pre-production teaser for the band's upcoming album, which can be seen below, and the band also comments:
"As you may know we are working hard on our next album, and we would like to give you a small preproduction preview of this upcoming beast! This is from one of the first tunes we wrote out of today seven completed. A couple of more to go and we'll be ready to hit the studio later this summer!"
