While Vince Neil (Motley Crue) does his time in jail his girl on the outside is concerned because he’s working the breakfast shift and has only eaten some peanut butter and a baloney sandwich. Given the length of his sentence (less than a month) this doesn’t sound like anything of concern. This sounds like fat camp for middle aged rock singers… More...

The Canadian blackened doom merchants Woods of Ypres have lined up a North American tour in support of the Earache reissue of the their 2009 effort, "Woods IV: The Green Album." These dates will be the band's first full-on tour since mainman David Gold got back from a teaching stint in Kuwait. David checked in with the following update:
"It's perfect! W4: The Green Album was always intended to be a 'spring' album centered around themes of rain, renewal, reinvention and recycling of the soul and here we are at the dirty end of winter 2011, having The Green Album re-released on Earache Records and touring the east coast in the very green and hopeful but yet typically still cold and cloudy month of March. It'll include a special green beer St. Patrick's Day show in Worcester and a long awaited return to celtic-flavoured Eastern Canada! So pack a cheap umbrella of which you can plan to get drunk and forget at the venue because us bad-luck-fucks are bringing our no-leaf-clover doom and gloom to your town this March with the black cloud-still-a-followin' over our heads. Even though we've got nothin' left to lose and no other purpose left in life but to exhibit our cathartic recklessness for your entertainment.
"We knew what love was and now, we also know how to be cruel. A Woods of Ypres show is a heavy, heaving slab of both. It's poison-medicine for both hardworking modern minds who've just given up on their dreams and fellow bleeding fucking hearts who no longer give a shit. Anyways, the timing of The Green Album re-release and The Green Album tour may be the first thing in the history of this band that has ever gone right...so we're very excited and surprised about the coincidence, because that's all is really is. Bring your merch money for a 'Wet Leather' t-shirt and a Green Album double-vinyl. See you in March! Come drink beers, hear the band's music and watch watch us personally destroy what's left of ourselves!"

BrooklynVegan.com describes the sound as “off-kilter hardcore-influenced math-terpieces.”
The album can be pre-ordered now in five configurations: a limited edition CD with handmade packaging, a digital download, and three package deals that include t-shirts:.
The band has posted a new behind-the-scenes video clip showing the making of the limited edition CDs:
Denmark's Svartsot has issued the following announcement about gearing up to enter the recording studio:
"After spending the past year or so on writing new tracks, we will be heading back into the studio from the second week of March to record our third album. The recording will once again take place at Lasse Lammert’s LSD Tonstudio in Lübeck, Germany, and will include around 10 tracks of the strongest material we’ve written so far.
"The theme of the album is based on the plague epidemic that swept through Europe during the middle of the 14th century, and that would later become known as the Black Death. We feel that this lyrical concept aptly fits the way the music has turned out for this album – so more medieval flavours and intricacies can be expected this time round.
"A July release for the album is expected, and we will post updates over the next few weeks as work on the album progresses. So stay tuned for more news."
According to Wendy Dio, the wife and manager of heavy metal legend Ronnie James Dio, who sadly passed away last year, some of the biggest names in heavy metal and hard rock will be taking part in a forthcoming Dio tribute album.
"It probably won't come out this year, but everybody signed up," Dio told Noisecreep.
So, who's signed on thus far? "Rob Halford (Judas Priest), Glenn Hughes, Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Lemmy (Motorhead)," she said, adding Grohl will do the Black Sabbath hit 'Mob Rules,' and Halford will be taking on 'Long Live Rock 'N' Roll.' And artists keep coming on. "I just talked to Alice (Cooper), roped Alice in and Sebastian (Bach) and Chris (Jericho)," she said, referring to fellow attendees at the Golden Gods press conference. And Cooper already has a song in mind, going back to the Elf days, according to Wendy.
