An AC/DC concert in Norway ended in a near riot on Wednesday as fans clashed with police.
According to Budstikka.no there were severe problems for fans trying to get into the venue for the show as long traffic jams caused many people to be late for the start of the concert. But then the real trouble started after the concert at the Telenor Arena near Oslo when more static traffic and a lack of public transport left a number of fans stranded.
Reports suggest that fans turned on the police as the transport problems worsened, throwing bottles at patrol cars and tearing down crowd control fences.
Police apparently blamed poorly organised transport systems and frustrated alcohol-fuelled rock fans, but despite the trouble they made no arrests.
Canadian rock legends Rush has denied the rumours that their next studio album will be another concept album along the lines of their classic "2112." We’re pooped and we’re not spring chickens anymore, so we do need that break."

Canadian death metal band Starring Janet Leigh has issued the following statement about signing to Ironclad Recordings:
"Ironclad Recordings (Trevor Phipps of Unearth’s label) is pleased to announce the signing of Starring Janet Leigh. Formed in 2003, the Canadian metal act Starring Janet Leigh began with creating music the band found both interesting and challenging with no compromise to musical integrity. Fusing death metal, hardcore, and modern jazz to create a sound that can best be described as progressively technical death metal, Starring Janet Leigh’s aural onslaught is a fine blend of artistry, fury, passion and precision. Combine the band’s musical fervor and dexterity with their unforgettable live show and what you end up with is no need for gimmicks or clichés.
"We're really pleased about signing with the guys from Ironclad. It's nice to work with people who care as much about your music as you do and really wanna see it through.

Masked metal band Mushroomhead has entered the studio to record their seventh studio album at the Filthy Hands compound in Cleveland, Ohio. The album will be released this summer through Megaforce/Epic Records.
Drummer/producer Steve "Skinny" Felton says: "Hell yeah, let’s go, after producing the last six albums I know what these guys can do and once again they are killing it! The cool thing about working with Mushroomhead is that there is always an idea on the table and someone brings it to the next level. Everytime someone tracks they raise the bar for the rest of the records, Thank God! They call each other out, they play each others parts they even fist fight! Their passion is undeniable and that is what rock & roll is all about! The sound is super dark and creepy and even violent at times."
Keyboardist Shmotz added "The new album is off to a great start and is full of aggression and intensity, although it is tough to be creative and keep a solid drug habit with all of the illegal downloading and file sharing these days!"
Canadian progressive thrash metal legends Voivod has posted a new blog on their Myspace discussing their new studio album and general goings on with the band. It reads as follows:
"We are putting finishing touches on the yet to be named new record, due this spring. Jason Newsted ended up playing on all the bass tracks and plans to have Eric and Blacky also play on it were put aside for another project down the road. This album will mark the end of the Voivod songs Piggy wrote and performed, there are other songs from Piggy yet to be released, that he wrote for himself and other projects. We will release a DVD of our first ever performance in Japan, featuring all early Voivod material with Blacky on bass and Dan Mongrain on Guitar. We would like to extend our condolences to the family of Adrian Bromley, who was up until recently Voivod’s publicist at The End records for the past 4 years. His enthusiasm and knowledge of music and all things metal will be sorely missed. More news and artwork to be posted soon."

U.K. based black metal band Code has issued the following announcement about unveiling the artwork for their new album on their MySpace blog:
"We are proud to unveil an advance preview of the beautiful and decadent album cover artwork for Resplendent Grotesque. Created, painted and lovingly slaved over by the enigmatic, brilliant and cult artist Stephen Kasner.
"We are eternally grateful and blessed for his vivid and inspired portrayal of our music. As the man himself remarked, "I feel very successful in channeling the emotions and ideas, in my own way, as they were described to me. And of course, your music was more than enough to evoke the demons. They have made themselves clearly known in these works, I am certain."
"We hope you admire it as much as we do."

"This is a step further for Kvelertak, as this is the first time we have ever made an effort to apply some production quality (less crappy sound) to our recordings. All prior recordings have been strictly bedroom-demos."

Megadeth front man Dave Mustaine has checked in with the following announcement about the title of a song from their upcoming album:
"We are doing great with the progress of finishing the writing of the new record out here. I have chosen a working title and I think that it is going to stick, and the record starts out with an instrumental that is very much like 'Into The Lungs Of Hell', and there are ten more songs that are really fantastic. The is one song on here that will probably touch a lot of people; 'The Hardest Part Of Letting Go'."
