Razorback Records is proud to announce that Lurking Evil has joined the label's roster for the release of new album "The Almighty Hordes Of The Undead." Razorback comments:
"Unearthed from their deathly crypt, Lurking Evil rises up with their brand of catchy, demonic thrash metal with a blackened punk vibe taking influences from the blood-thirsty Hammer horror films of the 70's as well as ultra-violent and atmospheric Spanish Horror. Combine that with an 80's Bathory and early-Celtic Frost influence and you get instantly absorbed into the horror-mood! The cover art has been drawn by Mario Lopez and he album will be released later this Spring on Razorback Recordings!"

"After just a few rehearsals we decided to make Sören Teckenburg a permanent Paragon member. This man just LIVES drumming.
"Besides having several other projects and bands like Time Has Come, he also is a drum teacher. He is click tight, hits the drums heavy and he can play lightning fast.

The Obscene Extreme festival will be taking place from July 16th - 20th, with ticket information available at this location. Now the festival has announced several new additions to the lineup, including Brutal Truth and Morgoth. The festival organizers comment:
"Few bands represent Obscene Extreme as fully as US grind legends Brutal Truth – they've weathered break-ups and line-up changes, but never once have they halted in their mission to keep pushing the bleeding edge of grindcore.
"Never complacent, each steamroller of Brutal Truth album has furthered their sound and moved the goalposts for the whole damn genre in the process. Now bassist, founding member and extreme metal champion Dan Lilker approaches his 50th birthday, he's stepping back from music and his baby - Brutal Truth - will be no more.
"When the band returned in 2006, it was Obscene Extreme the following year that welcomed them back as very personification of the festival. Now, seven years later we'll bid them farewell with one final performance. Obscene Extreme 2014 – this promises to be unforgettable!!!
"Another band that will be stepping out onto the Obscene Extreme stage this year will be fathers of the German death metal scene, the mighty Morgoth. Originally split in 1998 after only three albums - the coffin-lid hammering of 1991's ‘Cursed,’ 1993's forward-thinking ‘Odium’ and their most divisive albums ever, 1995's post-punk ‘Feel Sorry For The Fanatic.’ More...

Dying Out Flame, one of several bands showcased in our recent Unearthing The Metal Underground In Nepal, is preparing debut full-length album "Shiva Rudrastakam" for a tentative late April release. For now, Metalunderground.com is proud to host the exclusive premiere of the album's title track.
Dying Out Flame formed in 2011 in Kathmandu, Nepal, and has quickly become a hot sensation among that city's burgeoning underground extreme metal scene. The band's self-described "Vedic metal" incorporates Eastern cultural elements and traditional musical twists with searing tech-death, a combination that should intrigue fans of acts such as Nile.
Led by composer, vocalist, and bassist Aabeg Gautam, Dying Out Flame's lineup currently includes Saujanya Pahadi (guitar), Bikalpa (guitar), Prachanda Amatya (drums), and Nakchu Gurung (female vocals).
Ahead of the April 7th release of Black Label Society’s new studio album "Catacombs of the Black Vatican," Mascot Label Group is now streaming the first single “My Dying Time” via Soundcloud. Check it out in the player below.
Austria's Bulbul will close a six-year gap since the band's last LP with the release of "Hirn Fein Hacken" via Exile On Mainstream this Spring. The following press release was issued about the album:
"Hirn Fein Hacken was recorded in an old farmhouse in the Austrian wilderness breathing in the sonorous vibes of the hayloft. Responsible for its tracking was the longtime acolyte of the band, Ollmann Brunbauer.
"Aside from the usual set up of guitars, drums and bass, Bulbul utilized sounds made from 'found instruments' such as umbrellas, tennis rackets, bicycle wheels, cooking lids and mattocks, after which the tracks were digitally revised and bludgeoned, constructed and deconstructed, rewired and fired up. Hirn Fein Hacken is a wild ride, an expected outcome from a record which translates from German to 'get your brain chopped into pieces.'
"Exile On Mainstream will release Hirn Fein Hacken in North America on June 8th, 2014. The CD will be housed in a beautiful Holusion cover with partial spot gloss, and the massive 2xLP, released in conjunction with the label's cohorts at Rock Is Hell, will be pressed on 180-gram pure black virgin vinyl.
"In a universe consisting of contrasts such as accessibility and denial, degeneration and full bloom, similarity and dichotomy, Bulbul chooses to embrace these differences and apply it to their music, turning things upside down and changing perspective from every angle. The unimportant becomes important, the blurry focused, straight becomes curvy and squared becomes round, quoting the concept of Auto Destructive Art by Gustav Metzger. More...

"It's brutal but accessible," Anti-Mortem guitarist Zain Smith states about the track. "It's very political. The solos are tasty. It's new-day metal, but it has a Led Zeppelin-esque guitar tone and solo. There's nothing that sounds like this song out there."
The "New Southern" album will see release on April 18th, 2014 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The track listing is as follows:

Obdurated will released “I Feel Nothing” on CD and digital formats this coming April 7th, 2014 via Mighty Music. A teaser trailer can be seen below, and Mighty Music also comments:
"Following the footsteps of pioneering countrymen, Obdurated attempts to pass on the proud French, melodic metal heritage that forerunners such as Gojira, Yrkoon and Dagoba have paved before them.
"Discerning the great Scandinavian melo-death tradition, NWOBHM and the modern U.S. thrash scene, Obdurated has sought inspiration in some of the grand masters of these genres such as In Flames, Iron Maiden and Machine Head on the bands 3rd release, the first one with Mighty Music, 'I Feel Nothing' - an album wound up with melody, technique and speed, and permeated with soaring guitar melancholia, fast, pounding drums and aggressive, opinionated vocals that will leave a heavy impression on its listeners.
"Obdurated are no newcomers to the French metal scene. Since 2001, the band has released two albums and a cover-EP to great media appraisal, and played all over France at numerous occasions supporting heavy weights of the international metal scene such as Napalm Death, Sybreed and Benighted in front of massive crowds at festivals such as Coolnesstival, Chaulness Metal Fest, etc.
"Now its time for the rest of the world. Under the wings of Danish metal specialists Mighty Music, Obdurated now for the first time reaches out for a global metal audience with the release of their first international album 'I Feel Nothing.'" More...

There is a certain irony in publishing an article on the World Wide Web discussing man's ruin via technology. It's hard to refute Mike Scalzi's point, though. Slough Feg's founding member conceived the central idea pertaining to his latest release "Digital Resistance" (released last week, February 18th on Metal Blade Records) while observing his students lose mental capacities due to obsessive cell phone use. Technology can be a crutch for us to lean on, if taken away, we lose the ability to perform certain functions (such as math and retention). Today, technology advances at such a rate that can prove confusing and frustrating, especially to those not accustomed to change.
Sci Fi and fantasy aren't exactly new influences in the realms of metal, but easier to notice through Slough Feg's eccentric sound. Their music contains a familiarity to band's like Queen, but done with circus organs and primal percussion. Slough Feg albums are humorous in some instances, while gravely serious in others. You don't believe me, just read Scalzi's thoughts in the following interview as he expresses some of the ideas held within "Digital Resistance." More...
