Tourniquet Releasing Instrumental Album

Tourniquet has checked in with the following announcement about releasing an instrumental version of the band's latest album:

"On March 1st, 2013, we are able to do something that fans have been requesting on virtually all the Tourniquet albums. For lack of a better term, due to the 'musical' nature of our tunes, people have often asked 'Can you also release this as an instrumental album?' With Antiseptic Bloodbath 'VOICELESS' – we are doing just that.

"The album has been remastered in New York specifically as an instrumental release and it sounds amazing. There are no vocals and no voices – it is 'voiceless.' What remains is the music, including all the awesome guitar solos.

"My songwriting, as many of you know, comes in part from a deep passion for classical music, so to release Antiseptic Bloodbath in its entirety as an instrumental piece seems quite natural. The song structures become more transparent and move further to the front – so you will notice and hear things you hadn’t before. Aaron’s two songs add a cool element to the album – recorded on guitars tuned higher in the key of E Flat instead of low C. More...

Inter Arma Posts "Sky Burial" Song Online

Let the more than ten-minute seismic upheaval of “The Survival Fires” tear your world apart via NPR right here. The following press release was also issued:

"'The Survival Fires' comes immediately alive with some of the most straightforward blackened blasting found on the multi-faceted album, yet overall reverberates with the pulsating, organic, earthmoving doom surge the band so expertly perpetuates.

"In hardly more than two weeks from now, Inter Arma will take the sonic destruction of the songs on Sky Burial out to the masses on an upcoming North American assault alongside Brooklyn savages Mutilation Rites.

"The three-week venture will take the bands through the Midwest and into Austin, Texas for several performances throughout 2013’s SXSW fiesta, just as Sky Burial will be hitting stores for its March 19th North American street date. The tour then breaks into the Southwest and includes a stop in Tijuana, Mexico before pummeling north, up the West Coast and back into the Midwest." More...

Something that would pleasure our own ears as real Black Metal fans, you know. We're also mixing different influences and elements. It also has a little better production, but even still keeping that necro and lowfi characteristics of the early Black Metal sound. The cover art was signed by the great artist Costin Chioreanu." Soulhealer Announces Drummer Replacement

Finnish melodic metal act Soulhealer announced that drummer Timo Immonen has split with the band. Just after the completion of the sophomore LP and follow up to "The Kings of Bullet Alley" (2011), Immonen announced he was "forced to quit" as the active drummmer of the band. His replacement is Jani Nyman, friend of guitarist Teemu Kuosmanen.

Immonen explains his departure: "It was really hard to let something like this go, basically a dream of a lifetime. To play in a rock'n'roll band, gigging regularly, recording, and with such a great bunch of assholes hahaha! But what it comes down to is that I need to be able to spend more time with my family than I can see happening in the future with Soulhealer as the pace is gradually picking up, more gigs lining up, and what started out as a hobby becoming more and more professional. All great things, that take more time, time away from family life.

'I sincerely wish the guys in Soulhealer the best and that they have the strength and energy to continue on the path we started on together some three odd years ago. Go for it guys!"

The band commented: "The band would like to thank Timo for being an important part of Soulhealer behind the drum kit not only live but also on the 'Dreamcatcher' EP, the first full album 'The Kings Of Bullet Alley' and also on the upcoming CD. And Timo is right, the pace is picking up. So Soulhealer did not waste any time finding a replacement. Teemu Kuosmanen phoned up his old friend Jani Nyman, as he knew he is a killer drummer. Being asked if he wants to join Soulhealer as the new man, he didn’t have to think twice. More...
