"We've also set up a paypal-account so we can suck some money off of you... More about that later. I, Robba, have been sleeping with the demos, so dont get mad if theres some unknown stains on the covers or something. I'll leave you with a happy picture and a good day. Uäh.." More...
Torture Division has issued the following studio update:
"Time flies by faster than a blastbeat. In September we announced that the tunes for 'Evighetens Dårar II' were completed… Now it’s fucken February already and we don’t even know why it’s taken us this long to complete it since we need like a few hours in the studio when we actually get there… Anyways, J finished up his vocals this past Saturday so all we are waiting for now is some guest vocals that we hope will happen. We are not going to wait around forever for those to come in so if it takes more than a few days we will scrap the idea and use those vocals on the last part of trilogy2 instead. Or as J himself said over at the forums:"
“- So.. went to the studio this morning at 11.30. At 13.30 I walked out of there. Finished all four songs with some added shit. It is getting close now guys and it sounds fucking fantastic!!! Don’t jump out of your speedos now though coz we still wanna have some guestvocals on this one so we need to figure some things out first. But we are one step closer and you guys have one foot in the grave…” More...
Buzzov*en's, Kirk Fisher, alludes to reissues of out of print Buzzov*en albums in an interview with exclaim.ca. Fisher also talks about wanting to tour as Buzzov*en again and properly releaseing "Revelation: Sick Again." Here's an excerpt of the interview on that topic:
What happened to the band after …At a Loss? I heard that Revelation: Sick Again wasn't released because the guy at Off the Records would sue you or something. Will Revelation: Sick Again ever be released properly? Will Buzzov*en ever reunite and tour again? If so, what's your price?
As for Revelation I plan to talk with Hydra Head in the near future about its official release, especially if things come together to do some shows with that line-up. As for Off the Records, fuck that dude! That's all I say there, not gonna waste my breath. We'll see about the tour, and I'd love to do a new album. It's not about price, but I'm not goin' out on the road to not make any money like the old days. We'll see.

The man appeared to be drunk. It was dealt with so quickly that none of the other guests or the band were aware of it."

We have some really good songs going and everybody is up for the job. First out is Conny and the drums. First day started with a delay because of all of the snow that we got here at the moment. In previous Sunday Old School articles, we have looked at three of the bands that really helped to inspire and form the genre of black metal, in the forms of Venom, Celtic Frost and Mercyful Fate. However there is another band just as important in the formation of black metal that we are yet to examine. Namely, Sweden's Bathory. The band was formed in the city of Stockholm in 1983 by Tomas Forsberg, better known to his fans as Quorthon, and two friends. They went through a number of name changes before settling on Bathory and released their self-titled debut album the following year. This album, along with "The Return" and "Under The Sign Of The Black Mark" are now regarded as huge influences on the infamous Norwegian black metal scene's music in the 1990s.
Bathory not only helped to pioneer black metal, but also viking metal too, when they began incorporating viking themes on their next album, "Blood Fire Death." The group went further with this styling on their record, "Hammerheart," now regarded as a landmark in the field of viking metal. They would continue the "Hammerheart" style on their next two albums, "Twilight Of The Gods" and "Blood On Ice" before changing their sound once again, this time sounding more like thrash metal. This move was criticized by many of the band's fans and they returned to the viking approach on their last albums. Sadly, the band would not be able to continue, as in June of 2004, Quorthon (now the band's sole original member) was found dead in his home from an apparant heart failure. The legacy of Bathory has since been remembered with a box set released in 2006 and several tribute albums. More...
