Shai Hulud will be taking the spot of recently disbanded Verses on New Found Glory’s upcoming headlining tour with Bayside and Set Your Goals. For those unaware, Chad Gilbert of New Found Glory is an original member of Hulud... so he may or may not be joining them on stage.
Shai Hulud comments on the arrangements:
"Continuing our mission to relentlessly tour, and damage and drive our bodies and van straight into the ground, we have two months worth of two tours to announce. We'll be out supporting Stick To Your Guns along with In Fear And Faith and Stray From The Path for just about two weeks starting in early March. A righteous run you say? Indeed, but wait there's more. Directly after our stint with the aforementioned, we join up with Set Your Goals and Bayside to assist them in supporting A New Found Glory (minus the "A") as they support their forthcoming album Not Without A Fight. Now that's not something you see every day! For those of you who might not know, New Found Glory and Shai Hulud are more closely related than you might realize: we both started in South Florida back in the 90's together, we always stayed friendly and in touch, and early on even shared a member. As unique as the pairing may seem, it's also a perfect fit - and that's not mentioning NFG's clear and obvious ties to the hardcore scene. Chad Gilbert has an original press of Start Today on vinyl... and you don't. So there. Not so harder-core-than-thou now, eh brown cow?
"We know what you're wondering. The answer is.................. quite possibly. There are no definitive plans for Captain Straight Edge a.k.a. Chadball to hop on the mic and sing a song with us, however, it's certainly not out of the question. We in Shai Hulud would be as pinkly tickled as yourselves to have Chad share the stage with us. As always, the invitation is there. We'll enjoy the moment if and when it arrives. Oh, the torture of uncertainty."

Fresh from supporting Cult Of Luna in Adelaide and Perth, Eleventh He Reaches London are now set to unleash the long awaited follow up to 2005's "The Good Fight For Harmony." The new album is titled "Hollow Be My Name" and will be released nationally on March 21st through Good Cop Bad Cop / Inertia.
The tracklisting for the effort is as follows:
1. Hollow be my name
2. Britain and structure
3. I am the bearer, I stand in need
4. Son, you're almost an orphan
5. Oh, brother
6. Gaze to the north
8. Hill of grace
9. Girt by piss
10. Death is my holiday
11. For the Commonwealth and the Queen
The striking imagery adorning the cover of the album was meticulously crafted by Seldon Hunt, who has previously been responsible for the artwork of Neurosis, Earth and Ephel Duath.
The Perth album launch takes place on March 21st at the Rosemount Hotel with support from A Death In The Family (VIC), Fall Electric and Grim Fandango. The band will set out on a national tour in support of the album in May.
Ed Gein has announced their return. Here's the message from the band:
"Ed Gein is not broken up. We are actually finally going to get together and start playing again. It's been difficult to get all our work schedules and lives to line up, and to be honest, after years of constant touring and everything we weren't in a huge hurry. But it seems we've got a game plan now and are going to see what happens. None of us are sure exactly where this is going to go but I think I can say with some certainty that you shouldn't hold your breath for any tours. Maybe a few scattered shows...maybe a short tour in the very distant future...but right now we all just want to write some tunes and enjoy our home lives. We are planning to get together next week to practice together for the first time in over a year and a half. Should be interesting to see what happens..."

Gothic metal band Tristania have issued the following statement about replacing their bassist:
"As you all know, Rune has only played a few shows with Tristania during the last years. Due to him not being able or motivated to tour we've been using a session musician on bass for our tours in the last couple of years (Kjell Hagen, ex-Trail of Tears). In addition, Rune became a father last year. As a result of this, both Rune and the rest of the band agreed that it was time to find a new bass player. Tristania would like to thank Rune for the great years we had in Tristania together and we wish him all the best for the future.
"At the same time, we are delighted to announce the new bass player in Tristania; Ole Vistnes. We first started to work with Ole about a year ago, and it worked out great in every way. Some of you have already seen Ole on stage with us last year. The rest of you will surely get the opportunity to do so during the upcoming tours in 2009.
"Ole is an amazing bassist, who has a degree in his instrument from the University in Kristiansand. He is a great guy that fits perfectly into the Tristania family. In addition, he is a skilled composer and has been heavily involved in the songwriting for the upcoming album."
Ontario's Bastard Child Death Cult has issued the following announcement about signing to Stereo Dynamite Recordings:
"After several years of releasing mostly ska-punk and psychobilly albums, the Stereo Dynamite offices suddenly got a hell of a lot noisier with the recent addition to the label roster of Toronto-based hardcore punk, rock n’ roll killing machine BASTARD CHILD DEATH CULT.
"Together for less than a year, BC x DC feature x-members of 2 of Toronto’s loudest and hardest rocking bands DAMN 13 and CANCER BATS. The band describe themselves as “a secret society in the underbelly of the Toronto music scene. A collective of noise merchants who will stop at nothing to preserve the city's legacy of “amps-on-11, adrenalin-overdrive, chaos-at-all-costs" hardcore-punk Rock N' Roll gospel.” Musically, the band come across as a unique hardcore-punk mix of old school (Black Flag, Void) and the new school (The Bronx, Victims).
"The band are scheduled to hit the studio later this weekend to record their debut album with producer Jon Drew (Tokyo Police Club / Fucked Up). If everyone survives the experience, then Stereo Dynamite will aim for June release date for the as-of-yet untitled album."
