Polish black metal band Devilish Impressions has issued the following update regarding their new lineup:
"It's been quite a while since we've posted some news down here... Wonder why?... Simply because there wasn't really much to write about. Over the last year the band had been going through some shitty things such as tours' cancellations as well as subsequent line-up changes. It's time to announce now not only Cultus but also Turquoissa is no longer a part of Devilish Impressions. It has to be said, her commitment to the band's crusade was never a question yet for certain reasons it just wouldn't have worked that way any longer. Handling the bass duties was given to VRAATH while the synthesizers will be taken over by Quazarre in co-operation with other artists... Present line-up as follow: Quazarre - vocals/guitar/synth, Armers - guitar, Vraath - bass, Icanraz - drums." More...
Gene Hoglan’s drumming style adds a distinctive intricacy and complexity to Fear Factory, already evident in his other seminal collaborations: Strapping Young Lad, Dark Angel, Death and Testament. The ever-present irony and humour of Hoglan’s style is reflected in his playing on the recorded albums of Dethklok from the series Metalocalypse, The intensity of Hoglan’s drumming is buttressed by the constancy and accuracy of his ferocious double kick rhythms, executed to blistering tempos. Touring Australia with Fear Factory, Hoglan reflects on the early influence of Slayer, working with Devin Townsend, blast beats and the satirical element of metal. More...
Dubai-based promoter Center Stage Management (CSM) has announced they will not be organizing any events in the United Arab Emirates in the year 2010. The annual festivals, which include, Desert Rock, Desert Rhythm, Urban Desert & Back 2 School Festival, are postponed until further notice, in an effort to extend the reach of the company. The much-awaited and renowned Desert Rock Festival is usually held in March every year since its inception in 2004.
Jackie Wartanian, Managing Director, explains “this decision was not taken lightly and was well-thought-through with my team in my company’s best interest. It marks the beginning of a new era for CSM, a human-sized yet international entertainment-specialized company, which I’ve chosen to grow beyond UAE boundaries. I have focused uniquely on the Middle East in the past 10 years, which has positioned CSM to build a credible and reputable name; it’s now time to take it to another level. We’ve always taken pride in producing top-quality events which is why in order to develop my company in a professional manner (to equal its standards), we will to focus on our international projects and artist management, until further notice.”

U.K. thrashers Dyinise have checked in with the following update about parting ways with their guitarist and finishing a new demo album:
"Hi, Chris here. Just a quick check in to let you all know whats the latest with the band. most of our friends will know that Faz left about 3-4 weeks ago. We are still good friends and there's no bad feelings. He just decided that the band wasn't for him anymore. We've had a lot of interest from potentials but we just haven't found the right person to take on that second lead guitar sound we need. At the moment anyway.... So if you know any shredders (6 or 7 string) tell 'em to give us a call.
"Also you may know that we finished our 2nd demo cd and now were ready with the art, print and package to send the album of to the record companies. We had some really positive feed back from the last cd, So with this one being much finer recording, Heavier, more influences, we hope they may want to talk more.
"Some of you have asked us about the Slayer cover we said we were going to do, truth is we recorded it but it may be just one of those things you only get to hear if you get close and personal with the band. We haven't put it up for everyone to hear only as we didn't want to get involved in the legal/copyright stuff that's involved with doing a cover like that. Even with a man down were playing more and more gigs and even looking into doing a few shows London way."
Norwegian metallers Keep Of Kalessin have issued the following update about appearing on stamps made by the Norwegian Royal Mail:

The band got the official news and was also delivered the stamps at a small get-together in the home of Per Sundnes (the MGP host) on Friday February 5th with all the other MGP 2010 finalists. This is a big surprise and a huge step for metal in Norway."

"In the interim, we've got some cool stuff going on. We've signed a distribution deal with Loudtrax in Canada, so shortly the MOG CD will be available at most retail stores throughout Canada. We've also signed a deal with SAOL/CMM in Germany which will allow for distribution of our CD throughout all of Europe and the UK. As these companies push our music out, there will be a whole new wave of interviews and reviews to watch for. We also have something REALLY big in the works with one of the world's major guitar magazines, but it's a little too early to spill the beans on this one. Once it becomes official we'll let you all know so you can check it out.
"Speaking of magazines, Machines of Grace is featured in the current issue of 22nd Century Rock magazine, which is North America's #1 independent rock magazine. 22nd Century Rock did an interview with our vocalist Zak Stevens and gave us a 2 page spread right in the front of their magazine, which is available on news stands all over the place! The Finnish power metal sextet Celesty has recruited Tony Turunen as their new lead vocalist.
"This feels awesome!" Tony admits. "This is a new and interesting challenge for me. I'm eagerly waiting to see what the future holds for me and the band."
Dozens of singers applied for the position, but in the end the decision was easy and unambiguous. "He's not only a great singer, but also a talented lead vocalist with a very powerful stage presence. Plus he's a great guy!" summarizes drummer and composer Jere Luokkamäki.
Celsty's search for a new vocalist began in December. Even if the band was sure who they wanted, the new vocalist had to wait for the confirmation until February. "A good friend of mine mentioned that Celesty was looking for a new lead vocalist. Since I had listened a lot to their latest album Vendetta, I decided to apply for the position." Tony explains. "Of course I hoped they'd choose me, but I was still surprised when the band invited me to meet them in a studio. Eventually I recorded vocals for three songs in January. After some time, which actually felt reeeaaally long, the band welcomed me to be their new singer."
"I feel positive about the future, and I already have lots of ideas for the band. I will do my best and be creative, both in the studio and during live shows. My expectations for the band are extremely high!" says Tony, whose first live show with Celesty will be in March.
