The brazilian heavy/folk metal act LOTHLÖRYEN is preparing to hit the road with a tour to promote their new album, entitled "Some Ways Back No More," released in Brazil through Die Hard Records.
The tour, entitled "In The Name of Tolkien - Folk Metal Tour 2009", will begin in March and will be a true "bard's alliance" and will feature the support act SkaldicSoul, which will be promoting their album "Paths In The Highland," and also Blind Guardian Cover Union, a band formed by members of both bands with the vocalists Daniel Felipe and Rogério Malgor, who have a tone of voice similar to Hansi Kürsch.
About the tour, Leko Soares, Lothlöryen's guitarist, comments: "Everything began after our first show to promote "Some Ways..." last year, when we became friends of SkaldicSoul. The affinity of both bands and the love shared for Tolkien's works, folk metal, and Blind Guardian, made us to search the ways to make the project of a conceptual tour to work. We hope that the producers embrace the idea and help us to bring Tolkien and metal to many places as possible."
There are plans of including booths for RPG, mediaeval culture and local Tolkien communities on the shows. Those interested in booking tour dates should send an e-mail to email@example.com.
You can get information about Lothlöryen and check out their music on the band's MySpace page.

SIGH's Mirai Kawashima recently penned the first of several exclusive studio blogs for MetalSucks. The band is currently in the studio recording their 8th studio album "Scenes From Hell" which will see a release by The End Records later in 2009. In the inaugural studio blog entry, Kawashima talks about the title of the new album, reveals that a full orchestra will be on the recording, and sheds light on female vocalist Dr. Mikannibal's penchant for recording her vocal tracks while naked. An excerpt follows:
"The biggest difference between this album and the previous ones is that we’re using the real orchestral instruments such as a string quartet, trumpet, trombone, tuba, flute, oboe, clarinet and so on. The score is very huge - the one for strings exceeds 100 pages! Definitely the orchestration sounds extremely vivid and powerful this time, and I can safely assure that this will be by far the most grandoise album by Sigh!
"Also this is going to be the first original album that features Dr. Mikannibal. She’s playing the alto, tenor and batirone saxophones along with taking care of some of the vocals.
"The next report will be about her vocal recordings. She always gets naked when she records the vocals claiming that she feels much more energy like that…"

The tracks will most likely be sent within a week's time. All material for the album has not yet been written and arranged, but we are getting there - we have all the ideas we need! Now it's just a matter of finalizing the 'basic' arrangements for the last few songs. When this is done, further details will be added more easily. Now chew on this for a while and dwell in your own fantasies about the future emotional treats we will try to provide you music-wise."
