The Flaying Reveals New Album Details

The Flaying, death metal from Quebec City, Canada will release their second album "Angry, Undead" on March 22nd 2019, via PRC Music. Working with Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy) at The Grid in Montreal, QC, the band has manifested pure mayhem for their fastest and most brutal debauchery to date.

Their first single off this devastating sophomore album is "La Valse du Scorpion" which is described by the band as:

"Poetry of obsessive dependence stranded in duplicity and evil; the will to confront the same Einstein sentence about trying to get different results by doing the same things on and on and avoiding insanity BUT the power within to sublimate absolute evil by the will and preservation of a pure heart, it’s a love song as well."

The concept of "Angry, Undead" is an intricate one with each of the eight songs falling under a distinct axis: Chaos (social manifestations); Madness (individual manifestations); and Void (existential manifestations). It is brutal, instinctive, unique, and wicked, and is recommended for fans of Cryptopsy, Archspire, Suffocation, and Deicide. More...

Aborted Posts New Music Video Online

Belgian death metal veterans Aborted has posted a new music video online for the song, "Deep Red." You can check it out below. The song comes from the band's latest album, "Terrorvision," which was released last year through Century Media Record.

Sven De Caluwe comments: "Since Hell over Europe was such a good time we decided to bring the line up as complete as possible to North America where we will spread the TerrorVision for the first time. We are beyond stoked to be touring again with our good friends in Cryptopsy and Benighted, as well to have Stefano suffer through two sets a day. So you can come on over, enjoy some blastbeats, place your bets on how many kg's or pounds Stefano will weigh at the end, and come have a chat with us all. On top of that we brutalised the fine people from Panda Productions once more for the 3rd video for TerrorVision, this time for the lovely chanson d'amour called Deep Red. This rattling tale of romance enfolds in fields adorned with unicorns and many more politically correct settings. Go live a little people, listen to death metal and bang your damn heads to the power of the Blast! Praise the scroll!" More...

Exumer To Release New Album In April

On April 5th, legendary multinational thrash metallers Exumer will release their fifth full-length, "Hostile Defiance," via Metal Blade Records.

"Hostile Defiance" is exactly what its title suggests. A 42-minute full on attack, the thrash faction hold nothing back as they unleash hell as only they can, yet with more variety and dynamics than ever before. "We wanted to sonically progress, incorporating more melodic elements in the music as well as more rhythmic variety," states vocalist Mem Von Stein. "We are a lot braver trying to create an up to date and relevant sound that can easily stand alone in today's thrash landscape without sounding trite or a throwback, and we're challenging the listener not to get too comfortable with one specific feel, tempo or pace."

For a preview of the album, the video for the first single, "Hostile Defiance", can be seen below. The clip was created by renowned cover artist Costin Chioreanu (At The Gates, Voivod, etc.), who also made the album artwork and layout for Hostile Defiance. More...

Life Of Agony Reveals New Album Details

Brooklyn, NY’s Life Of Agony is currently tracking their highly anticipated sixth studio album The Sound Of Scars with esteemed producer Sylvia Massy (Tool, System Of A Down) at her recording studio Studio Divine in Ashland, Oregon. Additional recording will take place at various studios in New York. Sylvia Massy will also handle mixing duties for the album. "The Sound of Scars" is expected to drop this fall from Napalm Records.

"Sylvia has a deep understanding of what this band is all about and we’ve wanted to work with her for a very, very long time,” says bassist Alan Robert. “Especially, since this is a concept album continuing the story of River Runs Red, we’re extremely grateful to have her on board to help capture the darkness, raw emotion and heaviness of the new material.

"Life of Agony began boldly over 25 years ago with its hard musical discourse into the human condition, a darkly hued story which continues to evolve today,” explains Sylvia Massy. “This is a unique band with a remarkable history of personal discovery - a phoenix tale of flight, fire and resurrection. This month we begin again to record the latest chapter. I am excited to be the witness to the creation of the new Life of Agony album!" More...
