Krokus will be releasing new album "Dirty Dynamite" on March 5th via The End Records. The cover artwork and track listing are available below, and The End Records also issued the following press release:
"For almost 40 years now, Krokus has stood for high-quality, honest-to-goodness, hand-made power rock. No other Swiss rock band sells albums and its back catalogue worldwide like Krokus. The band has already sold over 14 million records, toured the world, and received gold and platinum discs in the USA and Canada. The milestones in their rock career are dotted around the world: from Australia and the USA to Mexico, Russia, Japan, and China.
"But it hasn't all been one long high: death, sickness, and internal strife have pushed the band to the brink of collapse. The story of Krokus is like no other. Dotted with highs and lows, sell-out stadium concerts and sweaty club gigs, these five musketeers of rock have outlasted trends and survived treacherous US managers, tough splits, bad deals, shady lawyers, drugs, awful fast food, endless bus trips, disco, grunge, grotesque record companies, and double-dealing advisors. Italy's Ecnephias has checked in with the following announcement about releasing an upcoming new album:
"'Necrogod' is the title of the next fourth album, to be released in May/June 2013. The artwork will be published soon on these pages. It's a monumental and epic 'opus.'
"The new album will be sung entirely in English - the most important innovation is a refrain sung entirely in Portuguese. The band states that it is the best music ever composed by Mancan & Co., a real masterpiece.
"If you liked 'Inferno,' you will love even more the new album: the band's sound is more personal, with a marked improvement (technical, compositional and lyrical). Melody and power will come together in a marriage full of extreme metal: the new record, for the first time, will be marked by many thrash and tribal metal rhythmic as well as dark melodies and a healthy dose of melodic death metal. It will be the spearhead for Ecnephias.
"The lyrics theme is inspired by the ancient pre-Christian cults of the southern hemisphere of the Earth. Stay up to date! Be blessed by the ancient Gods of Chaos!"
Texas act Seeker has teamed up with Bloody-Disgusting.com to premiere a lyric video for the band's new single "Alone."
Check out the new video and, in the spirit of Valentine's Day, vocalist Bryce Lucien's "10 Horror Movies That You May Not Watch With Your Girlfriend" list right here. You can also check out the clip below.
"'Alone' is fastest and most aggressively personal song that we have ever released," said Lucien. "This is us finally becoming the band that we've always wanted to be and we couldn't be more psyched that our good friend Corey from Bermuda got to be a part of this. His guest vocals sound absolutely crushing." More...
Demon Hunter has issued a statement about a recent Esquire article dealing with the member of the Seal team who reportedly shot and killed Osama Bin Laden wearing a Demon Hunter patch during the raid on Bin Laden's compound. The band comments:
"As you can imagine, our inboxes and phones (and those of our representatives) have been flooded with messages asking us how we feel about the Esquire article on the raid that brought Osama Bin Laden to justice that began circulating yesterday. Specifically, the person identified in the story as 'The Shooter' said that Seal Team 6 wore the Demon Hunter emblem on their uniforms and 'I wore it when I blasted Bin Laden.'
"Over the years, we have been overwhelmed by the personal (and unofficial) emails and letters we've received from members of the US military. We have been humbled and honored by the troops who've told us our music has offered them some comfort while overseas, while missing loved ones, while doing what they do best in order to keep America safe and protect the freedoms we enjoy. We've met many servicemen and women at our shows and they've shared their stories with us in person, as well. We wrote 'The Soldier's Song' back in 2005 to pay tribute to these folks who've reached out to us. We included one such veteran among the Demon Hunter fans we profiled in our documentary film, 45 Days.
"We have seen our symbol, a demon skull with a bullet hole in its forehead, tattooed on fans around the world. We've seen it made into sculptures, painted onto motorcycles, even spray-painted onto tanks and military planes. We often post these pictures on our Facebook page when we receive them. One such email, a few years ago, came from a special operations team who had crafted homemade Demon Hunter patches and put them on their uniforms. They asked us if it was OK if they did this and we of course told them 'YES' because we are unapologetic supporters of our troops. In the last 24 hours, we have come to believe this team who contacted us a few years ago must have been Seal Team 6. More...

Check out studio footage below.
"Bloodlines" will see North American release via Relapse Records on April 30th, April 26th in Germany, and April 29 in the U.K. and rest of Europe.

This week Olympia, Washington-based dispensers of auditory demolition at 20 Buck Spin confirm the impending drop of the debut 12” from death metal outfit Bone Sickness. The following press release was issued about the impending "Alone In The Grave" release:
"Having raided the local punk/metal scene since 2010, Bone Sickness recall some of the earliest and most savage days of death, grind and punk into a beastly and belittling blend of what 20 Buck Spin dubs 'American death metal disfigured by grindcore.'
"Following a demo tape and a self-titled EP on Detest Records -- both having been well-received by scene diehards and maniacs -- this ravaging quartet have completed their debut 12”, Alone In The Grave. A maelstrom of breakneck intensity in the tradition of Repulsion, Autopsy, early Napalm Death, Infest, Despise You and others, Alone In The Grave aborts seven tracks in twenty minutes. Ghastly, unbelievably-detailed cover art for the release was executed by the sick mind of Chips & Beer Mag’s in-house illustrator Hand Of Beaver, finalizing this ghoulish platter for 12” vinyl and digital release on April 30th, 2013.
"Having instigated audiences locally alongside Acephalix, Miasmal, Anhedonist, Dead Congregation, Grave Miasma, Poison Idea, Christian Mistress, and even the Melvins -- a band that rarely abides local openers -- and having been invited to Chaos In Tejas 2011 playing alongside Hooded Menace and Mammoth Grinder, Bone Sickness will infect humanity with further live attacks in the coming months. Stay tuned, as tunes from the release are leaked and more live actions in support of Alone In The Grave are declared." More...
As Neurosis continues to dominate audiences across the U.S. in support of tenth studio LP, "Honor Found In Decay," the band’s impending performances in Denver, Colorado and Austin, Texas are now just days away.
Opening support for Neurosis’ show at Denver’s Summit Music Hall this Saturday, February 16th will be provided by locally-based instrumental heavy rock quintet Native Daughters, as well as folk/gospel-inspired Americana of Munly & The Lupercalians, featuring Jay Munly of Slim Cessna's Auto Club.
Neurosis’ Emo’s East show in Austin on Sunday, February 17th will feature opening support from Little Rock, Arkansas’ apocalyptic sludge harbingers Rwake. Direct support will be provided by legendary Houston-based noise/industrial punks The Pain Teens. Having only reunited for a Trance Syndicate label reunion in late 2012, the eclectic act’s special performance will significantly enhance the evening, as The Pain Teens and Neurosis have not shared the stage since 1991.
On the Summer solstice, Neurosis is confirmed to take part in 2013’s installment of the massive Hellfest festival in Clisson, France. The gathering runs from June 21st through 23rd, and will see Neurosis sharing the stage with Kiss, ZZ Top, Down, Bad Religion, At The Gates, Kreator, and hundreds more. More...

Invisible Oranges is now presenting the premiere of "The Immoralist," a song off Pristina's second full-length, "Hopeless Godless." Listen to the song in the player below or through Invisibeoranges.com here.
Invisible Oranges' Doug Moore writes: "Pristina floats in the grey space between metalcore, sludge, and noise rock... Strewn across the landscape of anger and self-loathing are moments of clarity and even sensitivity. Today Is The Day, whose Steve Austin recorded Pristina's previous album, comes to mind."
"The Immoralist" is the first new Pristina music to surface (aside from the odd demo track) since the release of the Connecticut band's debut, "The Drought (ov Salt and Sorrow)," in 2010. Says Pristina vocalist/bassist Brendan K Duff, "Hopeless Godless was a very difficult record to make, emotionally. The album is about the darkest period of my life."
The "Hopeless Godless" album sees a February 26th release on The Path Less Traveled Records, home also to releases by Flourishing and Tiger Flowers. The track listing is as follows: More...

The second of four tracks on the "Shift Of Redemption" EP, “Live Low” portrays the explosiveness this act conveys in every respect. Check out "Live Low" through Metalsucks.net here.
Stated Enabler’s founding guitarist/vocalist Jeff Lohrber on the creation of the song: "I'm sure I could find some way to doctor this up and make this song seem like more than it is, but I see no reason to fool anyone. I was pretty pissed off and I intended on writing ‘the ultimate fuck you song.’ This song is probably my favorite Enabler song to play live. I can apply the lyrics in this song to many people in my life and I'm sure you can too. Fuck you forever."

Following two monstrous years that saw August Burns Red release multiple albums – 2011’s "Leveler" and 2012’s holiday album, "Sleddin’ Hill" – the PA-based quintet is back at it. Beginning next week the band will hit the studio to start recording a fifth full-length album (holiday releases notwithstanding), due out later this year.
“2012 turned out to be quite intense for us from a touring standpoint,” says guitarist JB Brubaker. “We did more traveling than we had ever previously done in our career and after three straight months on the road to end the year I think we were all ready to come home and shift into writing/recording mode. Now that the writing is complete we are all itching to get started with the actual tracking.”
August Burns Red has opted to keep it in the family for the forthcoming effort, reteaming with Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland of Atrium Audio - the same hometown studio where the band recorded last year’s "Sleddin’ Hill." More...

Finland's Deathchain has set April 5th as the release date for new album, "Ritual Death Metal," which is coming courtesy of Svart Records. The following press release was also issued:
"Keeping up with the band’s tradition to include the word 'death' or 'dead' in their titles, their title of their sixth full-length alone Ritual Death Metal feels like a warning. In the wake of an already impressive 'Death Gods' three years ago, this new offering to the Ancients been recorded last summer with Swedish wünderkid Tore Stjerna in Stockholm in his world-renowned Necromorbus studio, where most famously Watain but also Ondskapt, Funeral Mist, and many others have sworn a pact with the Great Horned One.
"Guest starring on the album is one LG Petrov from Entombed, who provides vocals for the track 'Like Worms Upon The Lands.' Cover art is by Babalon Graphics, other layout work by Costin Chioreanu of Twilight13 Media.
"As eclectic as the label is, Svart Records have a strong foundation in death metal, having reissued albums by vintage acts like Abhorrence, Xysma and the resuscitated Convulse. However, Deathchain is the first contemporary death metal band operating on the label. Each member sports an impressive curriculum vitae of musical misbehaviours that reads like a Who’s Who of the Finnish extreme metal scene (Demilich, Deathbound, Ajattara, Forgotten Horror, and so on), and the band's two guitarists are already part of the SVART family with Jess and The Ancient Ones.
"But it’s the sheer intensity of its music that has put Deathchain at the top of the foodchain as, unlike others, they’ve taken their time to shed their previous collective skins one by one. And what started off back in 2003 with Deadmeat Disciples as one frantic yet somehow still conventional thrash/death vehicle has now become, a decade later, an altogether even more unique and ten-times-more-intense beast."
"Rebellion - rebellion and liberty, they've always been at the heart of what we do," says guitarist Corpse. "During our years as a band, we have grown to disrespect all boundaries, and the fire inside burns ever higher." More...

Season of Mist is thrilled to announce that Ghost Brigade is staying in the label's family, after already releasing three albums of melodic doomcore culminating with 2011’s "Until Fear No Longer Defines Us."
Comments guitarist Wille Naukkarinen on behalf of Ghost Brigade: “I remember when we first signed to Season of Mist some six years go, it felt a bit like stepping into the unknown. We knew the label, we had a good feeling about it but then again, we had no background in working with them so you never know how things will go. Luckily everything went fine and three albums later, it's safe to say we made the right decision.
“So when it was time to start thinking about the future of Ghost Brigade, re-signing with SOM not only felt natural but was also our number one choice. We were fortunate to be in a situation where we could've chosen the label we want to work with but why fix something that isn't broken? We wanted to continue working with people who believe in this band and with people who we today consider as friends. It's hard to top that.
“Right now we are working on new material for the next album and I don't know, somehow all this feels like a new beginning. Everyone's super motivated and we are rehearsing more actively than ever before. And the fact that new songs are sounding great, doesn't make things any worse. Oh and while I'm writing this, I would also like to take this opportunity to introduce two new ghosts. We figured two Jonis would be better than one so first off, we have Joni Saalamo on bass. Secondly, we FINALLY have a permanent keyboard player in the band, Joni Vanhanen. 2013 will be a good year.”
“Of all the bands we signed, Ghost Brigade holds a special place,” Season of Mist CEO Michael Berberian comments. “We had our share of successes the last few years with the label, sure. Bands with underground credibility, already with a CD out or two, and we took them to the next level. That’s what we do – or at least we try!" More...
Season of Mist is proud to announce the signing of Australian progressive, extreme metal outfit Ne Obliviscaris, which was included in our list of "Best Newcomers" of 2012. The band released the full-length album "Portal of I" (reviewed here) last year. Season of Mist comments:
"The band stands on their own by infusing their metal with western art music, jazz, and flamenco. With adventurous, progressive and nuanced compositions often exceeding ten minutes in length, Ne Obliviscaris add profound depth to a musical proficiency which reaches the highest levels."
The group released the following statement: “For us as a band, signing to Season of Mist, one of the best independent metal labels in the world, a label which roster includes some of our all time favourite bands and influences, is quite surreal. We worked for many years to get our debut album 'Portal Of I' out there for the world to hear and for its reception to have been so overwhelmingly positive, and for a label like this to not only love our music, but believe we can go places in the worldwide metal scene is incredible.
"It is one of those things that just gives us even more motivation to keep composing and performing and trying to take Ne Obliviscaris as far as we can to as many people across the world as possible. We're currently in the middle of writing our next album with plans to record late 2013 and we can't wait to get it out there to the world and take that next step in partnership with Season of Mist.”
The band is currently in the middle of writing for a Season of Mist debut with plans to record late 2013.

"So, I heard that Nashville is supposed to be some sort of country music capital of the world," says Avatar vocalist Johannes Eckerström in the middle of the band's set. Looking around the scene at Marathon Music Works on February 10th, you wouldn't have guessed it. The night before, Hatebreed brought Shadows Fall, Dying Fetus, and The Contortionist with them to play the same venue, but the metal mob was out again in full force to greet the Swedes for their first stop in town on their first tour of the US.
Although Marathon Music Works is not some gigantic stadium, it is anything but a small venue. Stretching about three blocks around the side of the building, waiting in the line of fans to get into the venue was no small test of endurance. Thankfully, two bars and a sound system that blares Megadeth, Van Halen, and Killswitch Engage await indoors to kickstart the weary. Nashville was about to get a multi-national blast of warm loudness to counter the falling temperature. More...
