St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. Founded by late entertainer Danny Thomas and based in Memphis, Tenn., St. Jude freely shares its discoveries with scientific and medical communities around the world. We want to book more all ages shows in the Chicagoland area. Please note...all ages and Chicagoland area. We can't come to England, Germany, or fucking Michigan. ROTTING CHRIST mainman Sakis Tolis has told MetalZone.gr that the group's previously announced live album will finally see the light of day before the end of 2007 on Season of Mist. The pioneers of the Greek metal scene put on two special two-hour shows featuring songs covering their entire catalog. These live concerts were held on February 3-4, 2006 at Blive Music House in Larissa, Greece and were the only shows to be recorded for the upcoming CD. The gigs marked the band's 18 years in the metal scene and fans from around the world were in attendance. The band also played a very special concert consisting exclusively of material from their first three albums "Passage to Arcturo" (1989), "Thy mighty Contract" (1992) and "Non Serviam" (1994) on January 14, 2006 at An Club in Athens, Greece.
In other news, Tolis also told MetalZone that the band will return to their home country after their extensive European tour beginning in a few days, to play a couple of shows that will be recorded for an upcoming DVD. More information will be made available soon.
Here are Rotting Christ's current tour dates: More...
Blackened Industrialists MEZZERSCHMITT are now working on their new album entitled "Totalitär", due on Season of Mist. Five years have now passed since the highly provocative "Weltherrschaft" MCD saw the light of day, and according to the spokesman of the MeZZerschmitt Empire, Hans W. Jung, the band leader and strategist Herr Schmitt is currently "finalizing his plans for the new world order." Having spent the last 3 years in an asylum just outside Chemnitz, Germany, the band leader is now on his way to total recovery.
"If everything goes according to Herr Schmitt's wishes I believe the studio will be completed sometime in November this year. That's all I can say at this stage", states Jung. Due to demand by the authorities to shut down the official website, interested parties are invited to check out samples at the official MySpace page.
Chicago-based thrash metallers TWELFTH GATE are very excited to report that the band has been working with a new singer, and is finally back on track. Of course, due to the fact that the band doesn't want to make another hasty decision regarding the vocalist position, nothing will be made official for quite some time. Most likely, not until the new album is ready to be recorded. So far, everything is working out great, and as a result, the band is back in writing mode for the next album, more motivated and inspired than ever before.
Also, for those of you who live in the Chicago area, TWELFTH GATE will be debuting their potential new singer at a show on February 10th at Legends (formerly Rory's) in Addison, IL. And as if that wasn't enough, they will also have their friend John Barr (EDEN'S FALL singer who filled in for 2 shows last year) as well as former singer Scott Huffman, joining the band on stage for a couple songs each. Also performing will be Scott's new band/project, MINDWARP CHAMBER.
Buck and Dex of 104.7 The Edge in Albuquerque called Flyleaf frontwoman Lacey Mosley on Thursday (February 8), giving a fan a chance to talk with the singer after they performed the previous night. Lacey sounded very tired, talked about the opening acts, selling over 500k copies of their album, what inspires the band, and more. You can download and listen to the interview here.
Fair to Midland have posted the track "Tall Tales Taste Like Sour Grapes" from their new album, 'Fables From A Mayfly: What I Tell You Three Times Is True' on their MySpace page.
