Mesmerize has revealed the cover artwork for the new album "Paintropy," which can be viewed below. The artwork was created by Finnish artist Jan Yrlund of Darkgrove Design, who has previously worked with international metal bands such as Manowar, Stratovarius, and Korpiklaani.
"We're really satisfied with the result," says bass player Andrea Tito. "It really captures the feeling of the album itself: the combination of Pain and Entropy, translating negative events or emotions into a chaotic and painful state of mind."
"Furthermore, we really have to thank Jan for his help: besides being very professional all the way, he's been very patient with us, and our requests of changes and fine-tuning (yes, we can be a real pain in the ass sometimes!)"
A video from the recording studio sessions for "Paintropy" can also be viewed after the jump. The release of "Paintropy" will be handled by Punishment 18 Records on April 29th, 2013. More...

Richmond's own Conditions will be releasing newest full-length "Full Of War" on March 26th, 2013. Vocalist Brandon Roundree offers an explanation of the record's title:
“Life is a series of decisions and what are decisions but little mini-wars, opposing forces, pulling upon each other?” Roundtree concludes, “’Full of War’ lyrically ties the record together literally and metaphorically.”
Producers Brandon Paddock and Taylor Larsen (Periphery) have helped Conditions craft the new album and follow-up to the "Fluorescent Youth" debut. “We wholeheartedly believed in our last record,” insists Roundtree. “But then after we lived with it, we realized it was maybe a little 'safe' for us. We took that very much to heart and decided to showcase the fact that we are not a play-it-safe band.”
Even the album artwork shows a very different side of Conditions with artist Matt "Portland" Hay. The band is out on the road right now with Let Live and will be joining Sleeping With Sirens on the Take It Or Leave It Tour starting in March. More...

Svart Records has set March 22nd as the international release date for High Priest of Saturn's self-titled debut. The following press release was issued about the band:
"Self-described as a psychedelic doom act inspired by classic stoner bands and '60s and '70s psychedelic rock, High Priest of Saturn is a Norwegian three piece that consists of guitarist Martin Sivertsen and guitarist-drummer Andreas Hagen's slow-pounding riffs and beats and Merethe Heggset's eerie vocals, which seem to resonate from another dimension.
"The entire High Priest of Saturn opus is drenched with swirling, menacing vintage organ sounds, played on the album by Ole Kristian Malmedal. Groovy yet epic (none of the four tracks presented here are below the nine-minutes mark!), High Priest of Saturn's debut full-length is a trip. Not only does it fulfill the many promises offered by their 2011 demo (whose two songs have been re-recorded here in even heavier and more mesmerizing versions), but it also propels this trio towards the same league as Sleep and Acid King, towards the sky and beyond."
The track listing is as follows:

2. Kraken Mare (9:06)
3. Crawling King Snake (9:01)

Deadlock has checked in with the following announcement about parting ways with the band's guitarist:
"Another chapter of the Deadlock story has ended these days. In a friendly manner guitarist Gert Rymen has decided to part ways. The band wishes him all the best for his future and his family! It was always a pleasure to have you on stage!"
Gert also comments: “After 8 years of being in deadlock I decided to leave the band. Mostly my job and my family life are the main reasons for my exit. My music taste has been changing a lot in the past years and it just drifted too far away from the songs that deadlock is playing now.
"I am sure that I will miss the fun that we had on the road but I think it’s the right decision for me. I thank Deadlock for the great time we had together, and i wish them the best for the future.
"I also thank the following persons who also are or were a big part of deadlock: Joe Prem, Tom Huschka, Stefan Huschka, Tobi Anders, Stefan Lifeforce, Slayer, Erik, Stephan Scherer, Stephan at Meinl distribution, Hando, Schrörg, the Graf Family and the Reichl Family and of course all the fans that have been supporting us all the time.”
German electro-metallers Eskimo Callboy have released a brand new music video for the cover of Skrillex's track "Cinema," ahead of a tour with label mates, The Browning. Check out the video below. The band comments on the new video:
"The last two years we've been through so many good times, met so many different people and travelled to a lot of wonderful cities and countries... And all these times, this song was probably the most played one on our iPods! But now it is time to say thank you to all the people who have supported us in so many ways! Whether it was just seeing a show, or a kind word afterwards, it doesn't matter. For an artist, these are the things that keep you doing what you love! And with this song we can give back a little of what we've been given.
"On the one hand it has these dub parts that makes you wanna dance and have a good time, but on the other it also has something reflective that makes you think of things lying in your past that are worth remembering. In short, this song describes our feelings best. We are very thankful, so here is our gift to you. Hope to have you still with us for our second album <3"
The "Get Drunk Or Fuck Off" tour, featuring Eskimo Callboy and The Browning, kicks off on February 22nd and takes in cities in Germany, Belgium, Switzerland and Austria - plus the first ever Eskimo Callboy show in the UK. More...

Lawnmower Deth, self-proclaimed Godfathers of British thrash and usurpers of the buffoonery crown, has announced the band's only club show of 2013.
Since being pulled out of retirement for a one-off show at Alexandra Palace with Bullet For My Valentine, the band has refuted reports of reformation. "It's a regurgitation, get it right!" states singer Qualcast Mutilator.
Appearances have been rare but always event-based. Three Download festivals in four years, Damnation Festival, Hammerfest Festival, Bloodstock Festival, and now announced for 2013 the Hard Rock Hell Festival.
However, the draw of an even rarer club show in the band's home town was just too much. This will be the Lawnmower Deth's first home town gig in 20 years. Nottingham Rescue Rooms on December 20th, 2013 will witness Lawnmower Deth in full Christmas tilt. Supports are yet to be confirmed but rumored to be classic and old school. Tickets are available now at this location.
Qualcast Mutilator said "We can't wait...a sweaty club one....at Christmas. Plus our agent said he'd kill us if we didn't earn him some money."

Every week in Unearthing the Metal Underground, we take a look at three quality bands that perhaps haven't received as much exposure yet as they should. This week, we'll be taking a trip to Turkey, the country where Europe and Asia meet, which shares its borders with no less than eight countries, including Greece in the West and Iran to the East. It's a country with a fascinating history (the Ottoman era of which was covered brilliantly in the PBS Series, "Islam: Empire of Faith") and remains an intriguing place today. It attracts many visitors every year, including heavy metal fans from Arab countries, who are unable to attend rock and metal shows in their homelands. Turkey was also at the heart of one of the more interesting stories in last year's metal news, when Israeli progressive metal band, Orphaned Land, announced that they becoming Turkish citizens, having established a strong fan base in the country and previously winning an award for their efforts towards reaching peace. This week, MetalUnderground will be examing three home grown Turkish bands, in an attempt to showcase it as one of the most exciting places to visit.
Kirmizi (Turkish for "red") is one of the more unique bands covered this week, seeing as it's an all female group. The outfit was founded in 2005 by vocalist Idil Cagatay and drummer Asli Polat and performed tirelessly in clubs like Dorock in the country's largest city, Istanbul. They released their first maxi single in 2010 and recorded two music videos for the release, "Kirmizi" and "Veda Etme," before being personally selected by Ozzy Osbourne to open for him in Istanbul later that year. In 2011, they released their first album, "Isyan," and are currently working hard to bring their sound across Europe and eventually to the United States.

Thyrfing has delivered its very own brew of metal music since 1995. After six full-length albums and numerous live performances, the band is going to release "De Ödeslösa" on March 1st, 2013 via Noiseart Records. As a pretaste the band has released the track “Veners förfall," which can be heard in the player below.
Thyrfing guitarist Patrik Lindgren comments: "“Veners förfall” is a track we’re truly satisfied with and think it showcases the album in a great way. The song was actually written around the rather offbeat middle piano part – which I think is really different from how you usually put your piano in metal music. In the chorus we can also hear Toni Kocmut on choir vocals. Those who have been following the band through the years will surely recognize this as a familiar element of Thyring. So … here we go – hope you’ll enjoy the song and appreciate it as a first teaser of 'De ödeslösa.'"
War From A Harlot's Mouth has posted a guitar playthrough clip online for the track "To the Villains." Check it below. The band also comments on the video:
