A new song from the album titled “Humanae” is currently streaming on the band’s MySpace page. Sundin comments on the track:
"Humanae is one of the more eclectic songs from the album, and it's a good representation of what we wanted to achieve. Elements from different extreme metal subgenres are blended with more progressive chord progressions, all topped off with an epic ending part that still sends shivers through our spines. Hope you'll like it, and stay tuned for more updates as the release date draws closer."
Sweden's Infernal has issued the following announcement about re-recording the tracks for "The Infernal Return," their upcoming EP:
"Re-recordings of the first tracks are very soon finished, and will be released as a 7" special gatefold EP by underground cult label GoatHorned Productions. These re-recordings had to be done because of several reasons, but only one main reason really forced us to do this. Our previous drummer Tomas Asklund has refused to let us use the original recordings, since he plays (the drums) on them, and as well did the engineering job while I laid down the vocals at his Monolith studio, earlier this year. When we split up with him (on mutual terms) and after some serious and longer time going problems, (apparently felt from both sides, we don´t blame Tomas for what has happened, but these re-recordings would by no means been necessary if we would have been able to use original ones).
"We wanted to use the original recordings for this particular 7’ Ep, but he said that he wouldn't agree to that under any circumstances. This despite given the options to simply erase his contributions/drum tracks, but this was not accepted from him either, despite us offering him to pay money for the studio time being used. So to get this 7 ‘ Ep out, we have had to re-record everything from scratch, although it of course felt somewhat unnecessary, since we already got the stuff recorded. However, After some thinking and planning, we thought ‘Ok let´s do this all over again’ and as well let our new drummer extraordinaire Carl Engström (from Norway) do his ‘trial by fire’ wih this re-recording, in about one week. New York metallers Amalgama have issued the following recording update:
"Friends, I ascended from the depths of the WRPI studio in Troy, NY following an interview with the venerable Russ Jones on his Local Riot program. He was gracious enough to spin a load of Amalgama songs along with some Bishop (and a whole lot more local music) and gave me plenty of time to extol on the virtues of attending our HARD TIMES show on December 19th at Bogies, our last show of 2009 before we really hone in on writing and finishing this album.
"There has been some coverage on the interwebs from the Times Union with more on the way I’m sure. We have always had friends in high places who take a genuine interest in what we are doing and we cannot express our appreciation enough. This HARD TIMES show is for a good cause: to help those who are having a difficult time this holiday season.
"We are still hard at work with our new songs and I have to tell you that I am beyond excited for the way they are coming out. Working titles are 'Amethyst,' 'Forsaken Soldiers,' 'Spirits of the Dead,' 'Immoveable Unstoppable,' and 'Large & In Charge' among others. Some will change, others won’t. However, I think I speak for the whole band when I say that these tunes are the next natural step in the evolution of Amalgama. More...

California metallers Yigael's Wall have issued the following statement about recently having their gear stolen:
"Abhorrence. This is certainly the word which best describes the emotion we feel for the actions and character of rats. Whether it is physical or intellectual property, the abhorrence we harbor for the sub-civilized actions of The Rat is overwhelming. In a culture of ‘get rich quick’ and ‘me above all others’ mindsets, its often difficult for some among us to have the decency to stop and say, ‘Hey wait. That doesn’t belong to me. Therefore, it’s not mine and I have no right to possess it!’ Most of us work hard to achieve our goals, whether they are creative or financial. We understand that very little is ever handed to us and hard work and dedication are noble virtues that, in a just world, are rewarded. However, there are some among us who would chose to take the low road and profit from the long hard road traveled by those who see hard work and dedication as something to be overlooked, dismissed or even ridiculed.
