Clémentine Delauney has received an intensive artistic training since her youngest age: contemporary dance, classical and jazz piano, theatre, classical singing (she joined the Maîtrise of Lyon Opera in 2003). Motivated by the everlasting will to let her voice express itself in a symphonic metal band, it’s an immense pleasure to welcome her in our family.
"We invite you all to welcome her as well on Myspace, Facebook or even more directly on our forum. We will prepare some extracts to put online in the very next few weeks. In the meantime, you can watch some photos on our website or on Facebook. Thank you for your support! See you soon!"
Weekend Nachos has issued the following update about the band's upcoming activity:
"It's been a while since we told everybody what was going on with us, so I figured I'd make a post. Facebook is not really my thing. We will be recording the 'Black Earth' 7" for A389 in a few weeks. this will feature 3 brand new songs, 2 off of our upcoming LP on Deep Six, and 1 exclusive B-side. in addition to those 3 new songs, the 4th song will be a re-recorded classic that we play at every single show but has still not been seen on an actual W.N. release until now. true Nacho enthusiasts can probably figure out which jam we're talking about. We really wanted to produce a heavier, updated version of the song and make it more recognizable for future live shows by putting it on an actual 7"....so there it shall be. Stoked.
"As mentioned earlier, we do have another full-length coming out in 2011. Like our last LP, Deep Six will be releasing the vinyl and Relapse will be handling the CD/digital version. We are still excited to work with both labels, because both are great in different ways and we love being able to share the love. There is no title for this record yet but you'll like it.
"As some of you know, we went to Europe in October for 3 1/2 weeks. I just wanted to state publicly that the tour was a big success and we had an amazing time. The whole experience changed my life and I can't wait to continue traveling with WN outside of the U.S., and hopefully back to some of the same places we went to on this first European tour. Thanks to anybody who came out...we really could not have asked for a better experience. Til next time! More...
Canada's Agassiz has checked in with the following update about the band's activity:

One back in September at the Zoo here in Winnipeg and another on October 30th in Brandon at the North Hill in. Thanks to all who came out to those shows. We had a great time.
"Second our EP/Mini Album. We were supposed to have started recording it already but, due to money situations we are forced to hold off until the new year. It'll be a little bit longer but it'll be worth the wait. You can expected a good quality album!
"Finally we decided to upload our most recent recordings we did. Remixed and packaged for you to download along with a cool 'CD Cover.' So check it out, download it and pass it around to whoever you think will enjoy some Dark Metal from the Manitoba Prairies! Download at this location."

Switzerland's Requiem has checked in with the following recording update:
"After the fantastic show in Markkleeberg (Leipzig / Germany) last Saturday Dec. 4 Reto (drums) went directly to Andy Classen's Stage One Studio building up his new Drumkit (S.C.S. Custom Drums Lucerne Switzerland) and changing drum heads. First evening prior to the actual recording process Reto and Andy laid down all click tracks for all new songs in order to make sure that we'll find our way throughout all the new arrangements. This one will be killer that's for sure but I guess you'll read the actual word killer far more often the next couple of days.
"Today Reto did drum tracks for 3 new songs of our new album 'Within Darkened Disorder.' As we spoke all went well so far as expected. So there's more to tell tomorrow when they defined the actual and definite drum sound to appear on the record. That's all for now 'til tomorrow."

09 Dec - Manchester, UK - Academy
10 Dec - Birmingham, UK - Academy

Swedish metal act In Solitude has inked a deal with Metal Blade Records. In Solitude has commented on the signing:
"It’s been a very long, uneasy process finding the right home for In Solitude. After going over several offers from labels, Metal Blade’s genuine interest in, and understanding of our music, singled them out. This coupled with our respect for them, made this historic label the obvious choice. Over the years, Metal Blade has put out an amazing array of masterpiece records. We are very excited and honored to be able to add to this respected collection over the years to come."
President of Metal Blade Records Michael Faley adds: "In Solitude has a sound that is reminiscent of the classic metal of UFO while stamping their own evil imprint on it. We are extremely excited to have In Solitude on our label and look forward to working with this talented band while turning this underground innovator into a household word. Look for their new album in 2011."

Guitarist Stefan Weinerhall of Swedish metal band Falconer has issued the following update about recording a new album:
"Falconer has now begun the recording of its new album Armod at Andy La Rocque's Sonic Train Studios in Varberg, Sweden. Our drummer Karsten Larsson, who is the first one to be recorded, thinks this may be his best session ever. The vibe is really awesome!"
According to Weinerhall, the album "will be completely sung in Swedish except for the bonus tracks that will simply be English versions of the best (according to us) new songs. This time we have concentrated on the traditional folk side of our music including more traditional folk songs (the majority of the material is still our own), more fiddles and flutes. This is a way to finally devoting an entire album to the influences and getting that out of our system, so to speak, and to do the thing some have asked for during ten years. This is not the new direction of us but just the sound of THIS album."

When a metalhead moves into parenthood, a whole new world of challenges is unveiled, as with any new parent. Likely not the first on your mind is what music you can play for them. You presumably don’t want them growing up a wuss, listening to pop music. You want them to ROCK!
Cannibal Corpse and Slayer might be a little much for babies or toddlers, however. In fact, the biggest challenge to finding good metal to play for kids is the profanity. You could resort to some Christian metal, which is usually free of profanity and violence, or search through your collection for the few clean albums or make your own mix of kid-safe metal. Instrumental metal, especially Powerglove, is a decent option, if a little limiting.
Or you could search for some metal music that’s made just for kids. Yes, there are a few bands doing this, but perhaps just one who has done it best. For fear that you’ll skip this entire article when you see the others, let’s start with the best:
(Warning: If you take yourself and your metal too seriously, this is not for you; this is for metalheads with a sense of humor and can see the fun in these bands. After all, it’s for the kids!)
The promo says it pretty well: “What would happen if The Wiggles met Rob Zombie backstage at a Gwar concert and decided to form a band together? I'm not really sure, but I'd bet they would sound a lot like The Thunderlords!”
The Thunderlords is an entirely original Viking-themed “band” making original loud and heavy songs for kids. The band released their only album, Noisy Songs for Noisy Kids in 2005. The album features nine songs with song titles like “I Like Dirt,” “Eat Vegetables” and “Ice Cream Headache.” In fact, I Like Dirt" and "Ice Cream Headache" were featured on the soundtracks for the bestselling video games “Tony Hawk's American Wasteland,” “Tony Hawk's Project 8” and “Tony Hawk’s American Sk8land” respectively.
Check out the video for “I Like Dirt” and a stream of “Ice Cream Headache” below:

"Impiety descended upon and destroyed Vicenza December 4th with Atum with full force and now shall take on Rites of Darkness, Texas, USA this weekend. This being the band's first US appearance. See you at the war front!"
Illdisposed has checked in with the following update about finishing a new album and lining up new tour dates:
"2010 was kind of a year off for us, but still we did 33 concerts and made new territory as well, with Romania and Slovakia added to the list. Right now we have finished writing our next album, which will be a very very good and a little different album...
"On the 8th of January we will enter the Antfarm studio with local hero Tue Madsen who will produce and mix the album in co-operation with Jacob Batten and our old boy Ziggy.... Look for a late March / early April release via massacre records! We will of course do massive touring next year to not only support our new album, but also to celebrate our 20th!! anniversary... (Yes that's right - I was only 5 when I started the band)
"So: In Denmark and Norway we have around 16 shows coming up in April and May. In Germany we have around 12 shows in late May. Summer festivals are starting to get booked. And furthermore we have a 20th anniversary tour for Europe planned for September That's it so far.. Merry Crimble and a heavy new one."
