Control Denied vocalist Tim Aymar has posted the following statement online in which he discusses the release of Control Denied's long-awaited second full length album.
"On December 13th we will once again take at least a few moments of our day to remember the "Father Of Death Metal", Chuck Schuldiner. Those who know Chuck's music from Death and Control Denied have faithfully and patiently awaited the announcement of the completion of Chuck's dying wish which is to get the final Control Denied record out to you , and along with my other band-mates, I am extremely happy to be here to fulfill the promise I made a decade ago.
"When I first talked to Chuck about auditioning for a new band he was working on, an extension of his former band Death which he called Control Denied. We first talked over the telephone, and he was not at all like what I had expected him to be. My band-mate, co-writer and dear friend Jimmy Dofka from Psycho Scream had turned me on to Death a few months before, and the picture I had in my mind of Chuck, judging only by how precise and beautifully violent that music is, was of a brutal tyrant. I mean after-all, just listen to Gene Hoglan's drumming and the command of Chuck's blood soaked screaming, and you'll know what I mean. Well, I was delightfully wrong. The voice on the phone was just a guy like me, an easy going, slow talking hippie with a burning passion for metal. We both understood the seriousness of the business at hand, but neither of made it seem anything but exiting and fun, and that was awesome. That's just what professionals do. More...

Watain is one of those bands that make people cringe. Stories of men covered in corpse paint playing Satanic music and spitting fire amongst the limbs of animals and the infamous stank of them cooking under the lights have kept some people at bay while others are intriguiged and want to witness this strange event. Watain's latest album "Lawless Darkness" has become a favorite album in the world of metal. Just wrapping up a tour with Goatwhore and Black Anvil, I was able to catch up with vocalist Erik Danielson before their show in Metairie, Louisiana, just the day after Thanksgiving to talk about their notorious shows, Varg Vikernes, and black metal today. A transcribed version follows. More...

In a recent interview with Voltagemedia.com, Kamelot's Oliver Palotai discussed the release of a new album for the Sons of Seasons band. An excerpt from the interview follows:
Voltage Media: Apart from Kamelot, you are also in a band called Sons of Seasons. Is Sons of Seasons as much a full-time band for you as Kamelot?
Oliver: Actually more than Kamelot for me personally, because it’s the band I started in 2007. It’s the project in which I am doing most of the things, producing, orchestrating, playing guitar and also managing. It is a full-time thing. A band in the first years is losing so much money so I have to work a lot at the moment.
Voltage Media: Is there going to be a Sons of Seasons album in the near future?More...

First, we are entering the studio tomorrow and are beyond excited to record this new CD. We feel like a lot of you will enjoy it like we do. First off, we are here to inform you of the departure of our guitarist/clean vocalist, Justin Gage. Justin has been in this band from the start of the restoration of OTO, almost three years ago. He's helped out a lot financially, musically, and was involved a lot of the business aspect of the band. Justin has a great opportunity to go back to school and lead worship and be the youth pastor at a church. This was too good of an opportunity for him to pass up, so he is not able to tour with Onward To Olympas any longer." More...

We took the same open minded approach to grindcore as we have on our previous recordings, but incorporated a couple new surprises. The end result sounds more relentless, and I personally feel that it is a well rounded record that is equally emotional as it is abrasive. Stoked for it to drop!"

"Friday, October 15, 2010 - Embrace the snow storm: After a wonderful show in Quebec we wake up at the PUR hotel, fully rested and happy to have some hours to relax before our next drive. Since the clean-dirty clothes ratio is getting worse and worse Johan and I decide to go look for a laundromat where we can properly fix that; being the nice people that we are we gather everyone’s dirty clothes and off we go!
"There’s always something out of the ordinary at a laundromat; take this particular occasion, when while we watch our clothes spin endlessly in the big driers and continuously throw quarters into the machine we can’t help to gaze into the adjacent room where a special hairdresser who cuts hair with fire (yes, fire) conducts its business. After running back and forth to a close little shop for snacks and even more quarters we can happily go back to the hotel with a bunch of clean clothes. More...
