Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor has issued the following statement through his official Twitter account, discussing the band's future plans:
"Yes- we are playing Sonisphere UK. And a few others to be announced. Like I said, shows? Yes. Album? No. Baby steps, people. For the fans. Honestly, I don’t know how to feel about the tour. But it’s for the fans, and for the family. We’ll see. I don’t know WHEN I’ll be ready to make an album. Might not be for years. But we will definitely play shows. We’ll see what happens."
Triptykon frontman Tom Gabriel Fischer has issued the following update:
"I just returned home to Zurich from essential visits, together with Triptykon guitarist V. Santura, to the offices of Century Media Records and Twisted Talent Concerts in Dortmund, Germany. Much time was spent critically assessing the activities of the past few months and discussing the Triptykon's future plans and projects. I took the train home, as I've done before, because it gives me plenty of time to think, read, and listen to music.
"In spite of intending to also listen to much newer releases on my MP3 player, I eventually never deviated during the entire, long ride from listening to DEEP PURPLE Mk. II, III, and IV, and to EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER. This is music I already listened to as a young teenager, long before I even remotely thought I would ever have the chance to become a musician myself. It has never lost it's intensity and magic for me. Quite on the contrary, in fact. It served to flood my mind with so many thoughts and images.
"Everything else in the world - Triptykon, music, touring, and what have you - becomes entirely insignificant, however, when you are told that Jörg Michael, friend for many years, business partner in Twisted Talent Concerts, and drummer in STRATOVARIUS, is in the process of fighting cancer."
Superskum has posted a video interview online with Marc Rizzo of Soulfly. Footage from the interview can be viewed in the video clip below.

Video of the on-stage slaying can be seen after the jump. When reached for comment on the slaying of Mrs. Palin, possible presidential candidate and overlord Oderus gave the following statement:
"Is this what American politics has come to? We have killed every President since Reagan, regardless of party affiliation, and the proof of it is all over the net...but the right-wing tea bag numb-nuts are getting their knickers in a twist over somebody that doesn't even hold office, and in fact left her office as Alaskan governor in order to concentrate on her reality show...and is this woman actually being considered as a potential president? Why does the agenda of the right require that America be viewed as a global laughing stock? Because between Wikileaks and the attention this idiot gets, that is exactly what you are..." scoffed Oderus.
"Besides, we don't even kill her, just rip her in half, and honestly she seems to love it! Anything for attention, I suppose." More...

Norway's Leprous has issued the following road report from Switzerland:
"Day 28/34 - Z7, Pratteln, Switzerland - 24.11.2010. Today the weather was kind of grey. And the venue was located far away from the centre. So we did not see the city of Pratteln.
"Z7 (the venue) was really nice. The monitor-technician was as good as his mouth was big. The experience from a show with bad monitor-sound compared to good, is of course huge. So we really appreciate having a guy that knows his craft. We all enjoyed excellent home-cooked food, right from the kitchen. This is also something you start to compare, after a few days with in-door catering. And as with technicians. It varies alot.
"The Swiss audience were really nice to us. And its good to play after a really boring day off.
Although its not the biggest audience, it seemed like there were some that showed up mainly to see us. That is nice, for a opening act. BTW: thank you, the guy that gave us swiss money for the foosball-game! and thanks to Waldemar, being such a humble opponent in the game!"

Ryan Mckern, vocalist and rhythm/lead guitarist of Wolvhammer, instrumentalist and backup vocalist of The Guilt Of… with Mike IX Williams from EyeHateGod, and keyboardist of PonyKiller, as well as many other projects, also leads an active solo career. His dark, bluesy acoustic music shows his great love for southern music. His most recent solo song, however, is a little different from all of that.
Being a big fan of comedy films, he has decided to make a blackened doom metal cover of “Afternoon Delight,” in honor of the movie “Anchorman” in which the song was parodied. Ryan claims, “I wanted to do a parody to show my sense of humor and irony as a metal musician because being stuck in the category of black metal, people are quick to dismiss any personality with the music. This is a fun way of saying ‘Enjoy a good song and make out.’”
“Afternoon Delight,” is available for streaming and download as an MP3 below:

You can hear more of Ryan Mckern's solo material on his MySpace player.

Slayer frontman Tom Araya has posted a message online regarding the band's recent nomination if the Metal category for next year's Grammy Awards. His message reads as follows:
"I admit, I'm excited and kind of surprised. To have Slayer's music recognized by an organization as traditional as the Grammys - five times now - is like that gold star that someone puts up by your name. It's unexpected, but it's cool."
The band will be fighting off competition from Megadeth, Korn, Lamb Of God and Iron Maiden from the award, which if they win will be their third Grammy.

Gwar shows in Vancouver are always a sell out and there was no doubt that the Commodore Ballroom, located in the middle of Vancouver’s trendy Granville Entertainment District, was packed to full capacity. In a day and age where many shows are being down-sized or cancelled all together Gwar somehow manages to keep the Vancouver bohabs crawling back for more each November. While this time around Gwar had brought with them a few of the weaker openers it has chosen in the last few years once the almighty Antarctican space thrashers took the stage the real show began.
