New Jersey's Clamfight plays that type of music that just gets the heart pumping, the fist flying, and the heads nodding until the neck begins to cramp. They spent years working on their stoner metal sound before releasing their vastly-underrated debut “Volume I” back in 2010. This January will see the release of their second album, “I Versus the Glacier,” which is as vicious as their first album was, though with shorter songs and a more focused approach. Raven Lord Reveals New Album Details

Raven Lord's debut album, "Descent To The Underworld," will be released on February 1st, 2013 in Europe and February 12th, 2013 in North America via Mausoleum Records.

The CD was mixed by acclaimed Swedish producer Fredrik Nordström and was mastered by U.S. mastering engineer Maor Appelbaum. The cover artwork was created by Brazilian artist Caio Caldas of CadiesArt, who has previously worked with Doro, Seven Kingdoms, Dominanza, and others.

Abiotic Performance Footage Available

Florida's technical death metal newcomers Abiotic recently performed at the Barge to Hell cruise, and also released the "Symbiosis" album (reviewed here) earlier this year.

Aborning Gearing Up To Release New Album

Atlanta based slam/grind outfit Aborning is getting ready to release the band's second album "Ayperos" on Steamroller Records. Pre-orders for the album will be available in early January and will consist of a shot glass, signed poster, the "Ayperos" CD, and a t-shirt.

Semargl Announces Lineup Changes

Ukraine's Semargl has issued the following announcement about recruiting new members:

"Semargl presents new band members: Adele Ri as female vocal and Romulus on bass/vocal. Adele Ri has already cooperated with the band on the Satanic Pop Metal album — she's done vocals for songs I Hunger, Drag Me To Hell, God Is Not Love, Opium, Loneliness and Redire. And for now Adele Ri will perform for band live shows and record tracks.

"After 5 years of close cooperation Hannibal had to leave band due to personal occasions and new member Romulus replaced him for recording work and live shows.

"After such lineup changes Semargl will present more new music experiments and the band is currently recording a 6th album which will be released in 2013. The band has already performed with the new members at Halloween Horror Night 2012 (at Bingo, Kyiv, UA) and video is available below."

Aenaon Comments On Delays In Vinyl Release

Aenaon and Stielas Storhett previously announced a split release on both 7" vinyl and digital download titled "Er / Alter Ego." Aenaon has now issued the following statement about delays in the release of the vinyl edition:

"Dear friends, unfortunately we got some bad news from Possession Productions. ?ccording to their statement, the Czech manufacturer of 7' inch split forget to add this product, among others, at the container that was shipped to label...

"The answer of manufacturer was ridiculous & simple: 'We forgot to put your order in the container.'

"It's really sad and we are really sorry about this inconvenient situation. We want to ask you just to be a little more patient and forgive us for this delay.

"Well, there are also some good news... Anyone who already made a pre-order of the 7" inch split will be rewarded for his pending, with 2 patches (one of Aenaon and one of Stielas Storhett) when the order will be received.

"The next container will be sent to Possession Productions at January 15, 2013. Thank you very much for your understanding."

Thinning The Herd Drummer Reportedly Passes Away

Update: Thinning the Herd has since posted a statement online announcing its intention to continue as a band after Rick's passing. Read the full statement right here.

Vocalist/guitarist Gavin of New York's Thinning the Herd has posted the following brief statement online via Facebook about the band's drummer passing away:

I just found out my best friend and drummer Rick was killed in a car accident this weekend. I don't think I can continue with Thinning the Herd anymore.

No further information is available at this time. Thinning the Herd's upcoming new album "Freedom From the Known" was recorded by Steve Albini and mixed by Wes Edmonds and is currently set for release via Saint Mark's Records this coming February 2nd, 2013. Acrania Releases New Lyric Video

U.K. death metal act Acrania (not to be confused with the Mexican band of the same name) has released a new lyric video for the track "Susceptible to Retinal Based Reprogrammability."

You can also download the song via Bandcamp here. The lyric video was edited and produced by Doug Anderson of Visceral Video. Acrania's new EP "The Beginning Of The End" is due out this coming January 28th, 2013.

Death SS Posts Part One Of Documentary Series

Italian metal band Death SS posted a video entitled "The First Seal," which is part one of a documentary series leading up to the band's new LP "Resurrection," the first studio LP since the release of "The 7th Seal" in 2006. The album is scheduled for a March 2013 release.
