Aztec black metal band Tecpatl has released it's second album, "Tribute for Legion," and posted a YouTube video for the track "Fuego Nuevo." Tecpatl also has several songs streaming from it's first album, "Reflexion of Ancient Days," on it's MySpace page.
Three years after the release of it's demo "Omnivoid," Italian space rock band (Echo) has released it's full-length album "Devoid of Illusions." The album was produced by Greg Chandler from Esoteric, and he also lends guest vocal duties on it as well. We have posted the album teaser below, and for further songs from (Echo), go on the band's Facebook bandpage.
Colombian black metal band Luciferian has released it's third full length album "I Am Perverse," and has a few songs posted up from it on MySpace. Below we have the promo clip for the album, or you may watch some of the uploaded videos spawned from it on the Luciferian YouTube channel. Luciferian will be headlining the Culto a la Sangre Blasfema IV Fest in Bogota, Colombia on February 18th. Appearing with them will be such other Colombian bands as Goretrade, La Legion and Abstract Enemy.
Chilean thrash metal band Lefutray has released a video for the song "Immerse," taken off the band's latest album "Last Breath." Check out the clip below. The video was recorded at the album's release party at OXIDO Bar by Infiernando and edited by Diego Araya.
The album's track listing is as follows:

4. Ain't Part of It
6. I Feed Your Eyes

8. Through Your Veins
10. Screaming In Silence
Darkest Hour has issued the following announcement about splitting with drummer Ryan Parrish:
"Yes it is true, Darkest Hour has parted ways with drummer Ryan Parrish. We wish him well (you will seem him rocking in many projects no doubt please check them out, they will all rip!)
"For now his duties have been filled by drummer Timothy Java (Dead to Fall). Tim did an amazing job on our recent European tour with Machine Head.
"As for the future that’s open for discussion - no permanent decisions have been made in any way.
"Live to Trash, Thrash to Live."

Black metal act Pain is a Narcotic has checked in with the following update about releasing a new split release and welcoming a new drummer:
"In early 2012 we will be releasing a split with Count Shannath, Necrosadik and Waste of Life. Originally the line-up was going to be Count Shannath, Necrosadik and Lost Inside... However Lost Inside unfortunately lost all their material due to the failure of recording equipment, so we are not entirely sure if they will still be on the split.
"There will also be a line-up change in our band, as Luke is leaving after the 2011/12 tour and we will be welcoming a new drummer, James P.
"The departure of our current drummer, Luke was mutual and based on personal things. However with a new drummer it will mean a lot of changes for the band; such as a better practice place and possibly more gigs in the future.
"Because of the split and new drummer in place, there will probably be a delay in the recordings and release of the full length, Melancholy Winter, which was originally planned to be released Winter 2012. Now we're looking at late 2012 or early 2013. The result may be entirely different, but only time will tell."
Pain of Salvation has issued the following announcement about recruiting a new keyboard player:
"Pain of Salvation’s new keyboard player is no stranger for the observant fan. Being quite the renaissance man (as everyone in this bizarre band), he has been all over the place the last year. He played the keyboard in India, the bass in South America and on the European tours, and dammit if he didn’t do the lights in Skellefteå too!"
Vocalist Daniel Gildenlöw commented, "Through the years we have always had problems finding people who can master ONE instrument well enough to play our songs the way they should be played, so needless to say D2 has impressed us by playing both the bass and the keyboard with total conviction. Asking him to join the band was a natural step. Also, band meetings were getting boring with only me and Léo there. The world, meet Daniel “D2? Karlsson"
Daniel also added:
"To be a part of this band is a real honor. I’m very grateful to have been around POS for quite some time, both as a technician and a musician and a fan of course, and suddenly I’m being a part of them for real. It pays off to work your way up:) My intentions is not be the 'new' Fredrik, because there’s only one. And a damn good one! But I’ll do my best to carry the spirit on and bring a new chapter to the history of Pain of Salvation. I’m looking forward to be a part of the future of the best band in the world."
North Carolina five piece Curse Your Name has released the new album "Better Off Dead" this week to most digital outlets, with the CD version also available at CDbaby. This release is the the band's first since the self-titled album from 2008.
The band states that this work is a "goodbye letter to their family, friends and fans and seems to tell a tale that starts at the beginning of time and weaves it's way until the end of the Earth's destruction, filling in everything from broken relationships, to the loss of loved ones and murder in between.
"The songs on this CD much like the bands previous work seem to flirt with ideas of spirituality and the afterlife, all the while still maintaining splashes of heavy metal brutality along the way. Like much of Curse Your Name's work even back in the days when they were known as Cynder, the music on this disc delivers a somber mood while portraying an overall theme that 'there is a light at the end of the tunnel' and 'everything is going to be alright.' It may all sound cliché' but the group does a good job of tying it all in on this album, a feat that was somewhat lacking in their self titled release."
The album was produced by Curse Your Name and Ryan Helm at Helm's Deep Studios in Winston Salem, NC. "Better Off Dead" was astered by Jamie King at The Basement Recording Studios in Winston Salem, NC. You can check out the music video for "My Own Fire" below. More...

That's the mindset. We will do some touring next year as well, before hopefully entering the studio sometime in the early fall.
"The album title is already set: 'The Living Infinite.' Chew on that for a bit and don't spit it out until the music is invading your ears, folks! Until then, make sure you follow the songwriting process and other news on Soilwork's official Facebook page and website. Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and thank you all for your continuous support!"

Cyclone Empire Records has announced the signing of Denmark's Saturnus. The band's new album will be released in the spring of 2012.
Saturnus made some necessary changes to its lineup in 2009 and started to seriously concentrate on rebuilding the band's inner structure which in turn led to recording a demo of new songs, which was then sent to various labels. Saturnus was back on the road towards recording and releasing a new album and in bringing the band's sound back to its loyal fans.
Says the band: "We are extremely happy and excited about having signed with Cyclone Empire to release our new album. Cyclone Empire were one of the interested labels from back in June who received a demo of some new songs. In time we formed relationship via our management Lugga Music who helped co-ordinate things until we arrived to where we are today.
"The deal is for two albums with the first CD to be released in the spring of 2012. The studio has not been decided yet, but we have already contacted and lined up our longtime collaborator Flemming Rasmussen to begin recording in December.
"The album title has not been decided yet but we have five finished songs with the working titles namely, 'Litany Of Rain', 'Between Worm And Woeful Star', 'A Father's Providence', 'Wind Torn' and 'Forest Of Insomnia'. These five songs and some other new tracks are currently undergoing their final touches."

A while back we looked at some Facebook plugins to allow users to hear your music on your Facebook page. One of those was the newly launched bandcamp plugin. This week, I wanted to take a closer look at the bandcamp service.
While Tunecore and CDBaby are great ways to get your music into the major online stores, bandcamp should be the first option bands sign up with for a number of reasons. First and foremost, bandcamp is a customizable online store for your band, which allows bands to directly sell digital downloads and physical products. There are no setup fees and no recurring charges for the service itself. You can set up a page for your band, customize the design, add your releases, upload them, link up your Paypal account, and you’re ready to sell your music online. (Note: Paypal is not available everywhere around the world, so that may be a barrier to some bands.)
That’s the gist of it, but some other compelling features include a music player and embeddable streaming widgets for blogs and social networks, in addition to recently released Facebook app, which allows you to completely integrate your store into your band’s Facebook page. More...

"Merry Christmas from the members of the Serbian melo-death crew Sangre Eterna!"

The date: December 24, 1988
Location: Southern California
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the rock world
Not a guitar was sounding, not even a chord.
The bandanas were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that even more bandanas soon would be there.
The groupies were passed out, all snug in their beds,
With visions of DIO, dancing in their heads.
And Axl wearing his boxers, and Slash in his cap,
Had just settled their lawsuits, shot up, and decided to nap.
When out on the tour bus there arose such a clatter,
Bret Michaels sprang from his bed of whores to see what was the matter.
Away to the window he flew like a flash,
There he saw one of his whores, running away with his cash. More...
