Between Mike Portnoy playing drums with us and all the friends we know in this area (hint, hint) I’d ask Santa for a tent and start camping out now for my tickets! These shows are going to be sick!’

Xasthur: 2005 Demo CD / 12" out February 23rd on Hydra Head!
Xasthur fan... And so, you're already overwhelmingly aware of the fact that no outfit or individual in the Black Metal community, absolutely no one, is capable of reflecting and drawing the listener in to such a near tangible presence of distress...
Hydrahead Records has annouced plans to release a Xasthur demo from 2005. The demo is comprised of two lost, completed demo tracks that were recorded prior to the time that Subliminal Genocide was, and in a sense these two previously unavailable recordings "come across like a much belated extension of 'Subliminal Genocide'," states the label.
Here is the 2005 Demo tracklisting:
1. Untitled 4/05 (7:02)
2. Untitled 5/05 (9:12)

Vocalist Kobi Fahri of Orphaned Land has issued the following statement about streaming a new album sample online at the band's MySpace page:
"Hello there to all the warriors of light! For those of you who don't know, each year the longest night of the year happens at Dec. 21st and from this day on the nights get shorter while the days get longer. On a spiritual level this symbolizes the resurrection of the light and the death of darkness (the opposite happens at every June 21st).
"Since our new album 'The Never Ending Way Of ORwarriOR' is a concept album about the warrior of light, we decided to share with you another short track titled – 'Va'yehi Or' (in Hebrew - let there be light) - please note that our album is 78.22min long and these are just small tastes of the whole journey - 'The crimson touch of hope still fights, through the veil truth doth shine - let there be light!'"

The band comments on "Contamination," "The two years which have passed since the ‘The Invocation of Demise' session has been a hectic period of composing, crafting and some line-up changes. During this last summer VALKYRJA manifested the second album. There were no doubts that we would return to Necromorbus Studio, again with Tore Stjerna as producer, and the outcome of this session formed an abominable weapon. January 2010 Metal Blade Records will unleash this dweller of the underworld – by far the strongest material thus far - namely Contamination, a mark of violent and dark Metal for the predator and beast of opposition within man." Tampa, FL groove death metal Six Feet Under has revealed the cover art for their 3rd installment of the band's cover series, "Graveyard Classics 3," due out on Metal Blade Records on January 15th/18th 2010. “We went about picking the tracks for this installment of Graveyard Classics by really just trying to search out songs from early on in our musical upbringing, as well as tracks from when we were just fans of heavy music, before we started playing in a band. Once again choosing songs that have really stuck with us over the years, also choosing the songs that we felt would sound interesting when played in the SFU 'death groove' style." More...
