Tucson sludgetroopers Godhunter recently wrapped-up filming a self-financed video for the crushing anthem “Wolves Of The North.” After making its initial appearance on the band’s 2011-released "Wolves" EP, more recently “Wolves Of The North” reared its ugly head on Godhunter’s self-released split 7” with hometown cohorts Inoculara.
The split was pressed on off-white wax, with cover artwork by Matt "Zip" Howard, and interior art by Hoss, limited to only three-hundred hand-numbered copies. The video is currently going through final edits in preparation for its release in January.
The “Wolves Of The North” video will be released just in time for Godhunter’s newly-confirmed 2013 Winter Tour, sponsored by Acid Reflux Records and Earsplit. Broken into multiple treks between mid-January and mid-March, the quartet will thunder through the Southwestern states and then head back down towards the Gulf Coast, on the way to raid SXSW 2013 for several dates before trekking back to Arizona. Further confirmations will be announced as the dates are finalized in the coming weeks.
Godhunter also confirms that indie label Moshpit Tragedy will be re-releasing the "Wolves" EP digitally, and will also be handling the digital sales of the act’s upcoming "City Of Dust" LP later in 2013. The proceeds from these digital sales will be donated to an animal-based charity. The band will enter Arcane Digital Studios in Chandler, Arizona (Exhumed, Misery Index, Phobia) this Summer with producer Ryan Butler (Landmine Marathon, Unruh) to record "City Of Dust," a concept album about life and death in a decaying desert shithole of a hometown. Theocracy is happy to announce plans to play the entire "As the World Bleeds" album on February 15th, 2013 at the "Sanctuary From the Streets" fundraiser in Nashville, TN. Vocalist Matt Smith explains:
"We kicked around the idea of trying to make this happen a few months ago, because we always loved the idea. A lot of people seemed as excited about it as we were, so it just became a matter of trying to find the right place and time to make it happen. Once the 'Sanctuary From the Streets' idea was presented to us and started taking shape, it seemed like the perfect time. We are all honored to be asked to participate in something for such a great cause, and hopefully this will help make a night that already promises to be very special even more special.
"We will be performing As the World Bleeds front to back in its entirety, and we have another surprise or two up our sleeves as well that you will NOT want to miss. Who knows if or when this will ever happen again, so if there was ever a show worth roadtripping to, this is it! We can't wait to share the stage with InnerSiege and Oblivion Myth and enjoy a great night of music for a wonderful cause."

No good could possibly come out of the frigid Northern lands of Alberta, you say? Well, sorry to tell you, there’s an exception to every rule. Enter smoldering power-thrash five-piece Edge of Attack.
Combining haunting vocals, shredding guitars, complex bass lines, furious drumming and choral and symphonic arrangements with surprising depth, Edge of Attack has not only taken the metal scene by storm, but also by surprise. Or, as Nuclear Fallout Radio puts its: “Edge of Attack is the near perfect combination anyone should be looking for in a modern Hard Rock/Metal band. That’s why this album is getting our very first A+ in 5 1/2 years.”
Having been featured in Revolver magazine, you’d think the band has surely been around for years, but truth be told, they’ve accomplished all this while releasing no more than two singles. Today we're proud to premiere a new single from the band for the track "In Hell," which will be appearing on the band's upcoming self-titled album, due out February 19th, 2013.
Check out "In Hell" through the widget below (the song may take a few moments to load after hitting "play"). You can also watch the previously posted music video for "Forever" at this location.

3. Demon (Of The Northern Seas)
4. Take Me Alive
5. In The Night

Helstar has checked in with the following announcement about upcoming live activity and recruiting Mike LePond as a fill-in bassist:
"It's been a few months since we've issued an update and there are several news items we'd like to share with you HEL-Raisers on what to expect in 2013!
"As many of you know, early in the new year we will set sail from Miami onboard the largest floating heavy metal festival '70,000 Tons of Metal'. We are proud to have been invited and look forward to this awesome opportunity, but why stop there? Since we'll be in the area, we decided to schedule several onshore gigs in Florida as well! Our first stop is the city once described as the 'damnedest town this side of Hell' a.k.a. Tampa, at the legendary Brass Mug on Saturday, January 26th, followed by the Metal Cruise Pre-Party (also featuring FLOTSAM & JETSAM) at Miami's Grand Central on Sunday, January 27th. After we return from the high seas of metal, we're heading southeast of Orlando to the city of Melbourne, where we'll wrap up on Saturday, February 2nd at The County Line Saloon.
"On a more somber note, after several years of enduring a stomach-related illness, our bassist, Jerry Abarca, continues to fight an unrelenting battle to regain his health and will take an extended break from the band for the foreseeable future. We had all hoped that he would have fully recovered by now, but the reality is that he is still very ill. This was made painfully obvious to us on our recent tour of Europe when he had to be hospitalized again and missed the biggest show of the entire run. More...
Greyhaze Records has announced that in the January issue of Decibel Magazine (currently available) the seminal black/death/thrash band Sarcófago was inducted into the magazine's Hall of Fame for its infamous 1987 release "INRI." The seven-page interview delves deeply into the band's blasphemous history and gives a rare glimpse into the inner workings of this immensely influential Brazilian extreme metal outfit. The Decibel Hall of Fame induction coincides with that album's 25th anniversary.
Conducted by Decibel scribe Chris Dick, the interview includes detailed accounts that actually were missing links into the whole fabric of the original aesthetics and sound of black and death Metal including the origins of the blast-beat itself, explained by the band's drummer DD Crazy. The interview also provides an inside look into one of the most legendary metal scenes in the world: that of the Brazilian city of Belo Horizonte. That location not only spawned this month's inductees, but also metal titans Sepultura as well as a slew of bands that are today counted as integral parts in the beginnings of extreme black and death metal.
All four original members of Sarcófago (Wagner "Antichrist" Lamounier, Gerald "Incubus" Minelli, Zeder "Butcher" and Eduardo "DD Crazy" give their point of view on all aspects surrounding the recording of "INRI." There is no shortage of high alcohol consumption, total debauchery, fist-fights, and unrelenting anti-religious angst. The story also features statements by Fenriz (Darkthrone), Phil Anselmo (Pantera, Down), Tomas Lindberg (At The Gates), and Matt Harvey (Exhumed) recounting their experience and praise for Sarcófago's "INRI."
"INRI" was originally released by classic underground label Cogumelo Records in 1987 and is today available in North America via Greyhaze Records under official license. Read the full Sarcofago article over at this location.
