"Avenged [Sevenfold] have decided, despite having originally confirmed a mid-afternoon spot, that they are now unwilling to play unless it is night time. At the same time, they are refusing to play at the same time as [Iron] Maiden… In other words, they want 'Maiden to play in the afternoon!
"While Avenged are a massive band, having sold around 8,000 copies of their new album nationally, I won't be able to move Maiden's time slot. I have now reached the point where I can no longer mess around 70 other bands and 180,000 ticket holders to appease this band's nonsense. I have every expectation that they will go back on their agreement and cancel."

"We were actually a little more shocked. We felt that maybe both parties could have handled it a little more internally without being so press release-happy about what had happened between them. Because we're a band that, really, when it comes to news all over web sites or this or that about bands, you know, we don't tweet much, we don't try to put ourselves out that much, and all the drama and controversy wasn't something that we wanted at all."

Starring Janet Leigh has announced it will be officially disbanding after a final run of tour dates dubbed the "Lastt Call Tour" (the extra "T" is for "Let's get completely wasted!"). The band commented on the break up:
"Due to recent member changes and a drastic shift in our sound, we decided it was only fair that Starring Janet Leigh go out in style with one last kick at the can through our homeland. There are a lot of bands out there that keep the same name when they are clearly no longer the same band, and we've decided to take a different route than that. We all love what we did with SJL over the years and are sincerely going to miss it. The new album in the making is taking a very different direction than the previous release, but we're sure fans of SJL and fans of progressive metal will love it! Thanks to everyone who supported SJL the years, it means the world to us. Be sure to make it out to one of the final shows if you can, this tour is gonna be a BANGER!"

Warbringer is set to kick off a three date trek supporting Halford, which serves as Halford’s follow up to his recent tour with Ozzy Osbourne. Warbringer's John Laux had the following to say:
"Seasons Slayings and Greetings everyone! It's been quite a turbulent sleigh ride since we released Waking Into Nightmares last year. We are very excited to wrap up the year with 3 killer Halford gigs in Southern California! Judas Priest has long been a staple of our late night tour van mp3 selection, so we are very excited and honored to share the stage with the the Metal God and Painkiller himself!
"These shows will also mark the end of 2 years of touring in support of the album. We had a great time visiting many countries and meeting a lot of great fans and bands. Some highlights include 3 great European/UK tours including Testament and co-headline runs with our friends in Evile and Skeletonwitch; an unforgettable time with Municipal Waste and Toxic Holocaust in Japan followed by a killer headlining tour in Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and The Philippines; and naturally lots of trips through the States and Canada kicking off right after the album was released with Soilwork, Darkane, Exodus, Kreator, Obituary, Megadeth, and some the heaviest and meanest this year with Overkill, Vader, Pestilence and finally supporting Nevermore; one tour we will never forget! Turisas has announced it's new album will be titled "Stand Up and Fight." “’Stand Up And Fight’ is a loose continuation of the story from ‘The Varangian Way’, and picks up where the previous one left us, in Constantinople,” explains mainman Mathias Nygård. “However, it is not a sequel as such. In general, the songs are much more universal and deal with topics that can be placed just as tightly into the modern world as in the 11th century Byzantine Empire. ‘Stand Up And Fight’ has much more to offer the contemporary listener.”
Mathias further commented on the album: "Turisas has always been about progression and evolution, and now with a new album we're not here to repeat ourselves but to have something new to come with - also visually. Our look has developed through the years, and it's never been something we created once to be static forever. Innovation is reinventing yourself regularly. We toured ‘The Varangian Way’ for three and a half years with a look that was tied to the album. With a new release, it was time for a makeover. The visual side has always played a very strong role in Turisas, and fear not - that's not going to change. Stronger than ever, Turisas has returned!"

"It's hard to describe how proud we are to sign with Earache Records. Being at the same starting blocks as bands like Carcass, Morbid Angel, Decapitated and Napalm Death, is something that we have always worked hard since the beginning to achieve, and finally being at this point with the band, to us is just phenomenal. "Summer 2011 sees the 10 year anniversary of the start of Beecher. We disbanded suddenly, during our most active period, playing just one 'goodbye' gig, at which more than 100 fans of the band were rejected at the doors of the already over-capacity venue.
"Having had five years of reflection time, and considering the aforementioned fact that our tenth birthday is fast approaching, we have decided to reform, playing a handful of shows over the course of 2011 - the first of which will take place on April 29th at the Star & Garter, in our hometown of Manchester. The rest are as-of-yet unconfirmed. Needless to say, the whole band was crushed by the news, as Lauri had been part of the Amoral crew almost since the very beginning. He will be deeply missed.
"Also playing at nosturi are Kiuas and Rytmihäiriö. Lauri worked with both bands occasionally also, so they were as eager as us to pay this tribute to our friend. Surprise guests are also very possible. All profits from this show will be donated to Sylva Ry, an organization of parents with children who have leukemia. Tickets (8€) for the event can be purchased here."
Dawn of Ashes has had a busy few months. After releasing “Genocide Chapters” on September 14th and shooting a music video they struck out on a North American fall tour with Dimmu Borgir, which conveniently ended just a couple days ago. With new cooperation partners Twisted Talent (booking), PHD (merchandise) and last but not least, Indie Recordings as the chosen label, 1349 have prepared their next audible assault, filled to the brim with abyssic darkness and hellish energy. This release - by far their most brutal to this date - creates a great deal of friction in terms of differences from their previous efforts, and in addition brings several untraditional creative elements, another proof of the band’s innovative take on Black Metal.
"Alongside a US/Canadian tour, the band kicks off the new decade with a string of one-off European shows including the bands 1st ever show in Finland and several high-profile festivals such as Wacken and Summer Breeze."
